Why the thumbs down? I'm an GM owner with recalls and each time I go in the service writer is trying to sell me something in addition to the recall. I've dropped off my truck on my appointment time only to have them call me a few hours later to tell me that the recall part isn't available however we can take care of the gas peddle adjustment for a low price of $300.
Don't understand the thumbs down!
It's easier to have recalls so the customer will come to us. Once they come in, it's up to the service writer to sell some tires, maybe an oil change. Putting the customer on notice they need us to fix those hiccups will keep them coming back for other services. Those recalls retain customers. Its the deaths in those recalls that should be bothersome but what the heck, sales are up and the stock has made a nice little jump. Always look for the silver lining, even in deaths.
