EEP investors are not throwing you under the bus! The energy ETF's hold a lot of shares of EEP and when oil plunges people get out of ETF's causing them to sell to pay for the redemptions. EEP has not missed or lowered their divvy since I first got some in the early 80's. Even during the 2008-2009 time frame. Just quit watching it and wait for the 13% divy.EEP will return to pay out around 8% as the stock price will return to around $30. Buy as much as you can (not on margin) and sleep good. To get a steady divvy of 13% will outperform 95% of peoples portfolios.
I think you will be happy long term! Some are saying that they think EEP will cut their divvy. During 2008-2009 the stock was paying as much as 25% divvy (price got very low) but they never cut the divvy. I wonder where the rationale for this thinking comes from. Who knows? but since holding from the 1980's the divvy has never been cut. GL
I also have a substantial position but am not worried about the fluctuation so much as just watching those 9% divvy's coming in. 21 is a great place to add more. Typically EEP pays around 7-8% and the stock will come back to the corresponding price (30-32). You'll get both the divvy and 50 appreciation at this price but it's more of a longer horizon than a day trade. Happy trading. When there's blood in the streets it's time to buy not sell
EEP has never lowered or missed a divvy, even during 2008-2009. If you aren't worried about the capital and just want 11% divvy just buy and enjoy. It will run back up sooner or later and 11% while you wait. One of the top 100 most trusted co. in the world. Happy trading! Good buy!
