BIOS up 22% on 7X normal volume on 6.17.16

Thanks mpackard.. you know more about the market than I do, but I have a good broker. He got me into CYBE around $6.00 and I recently took profits there around $18. So that was a long hold but a good one. He has the same convictions about BIOS which I started buying around $5 and cost averaged down to about $2.50. I have a lot of it, but I feel good about holding it because as we all know it is such a pure play now on the high growth/margin home infusion therapy. They also seem to be making great progress on their turnaround and they have a goal is to sell the company. So, I feel very comfortable holding BIOS long term. The summer often has a large selloff at some point, which is where I usually look to start buying, but BIOS has already been so beaten up that I don't think it will go down too much even if we have the usual summer sell off. I so appreciate you and other fellow longs who comment here because you reinforce my convictions Anyway, have a great summer everyone. I think within a quarter or two things are going to get very exciting for BIOS. jf

One of my sources heard "they're working on something" but didn't know what it was... whatever that means. The volume says something good is going on. Lets keep our ears open and share what we find out. Thanks all.

  • Wow.. something is going on. I can't find information but will be looking today. If anyone has a clue, please let us longs know. It must be good news :-) Waiting to hear from my fellow longs ... jf

Looks like we are coming back today. I think the deal will be really good for us in the long run. Maybe the street thinks so too now.

I talked to my broker about this move, and he shares your view. He felt there must be some very positive developments at BIOS that we will not be privy too until the next conference call for them to make this acquisition. Oh well, this is my speculative play. I have a lot of shares, and I am in it for the long haul. Would really like to see some analysis of this from the hedge fund managers that own it and from people like Dan Miller. The fact their management is focused on the high growth area of home infusion which is growing rapidly, and they are turning things around, I am fine with holding my position.

Well, I am not sure what to think. .. we are getting a new CEO who seems to be pretty successful building a company like Bios. We will have share dilution but we gain more value by adding another company. I hope the selling is an over reaction. Since they are in such a high growth area with our aging population, I tend to think this will shake out positive. I will be looking at my sources for a more professional analysis. .. especially Dan Miller since this is his largest holding. I would very much appreciate your thoughts and those of other longs .

The volume and price are moving up... it is like it wants to break out and really run... they seem to have a lot of good news.

  • I was trying to get some current opinions on BIOS and keep checking to see if Dan Miller has updated his Shareholder Commentary, but he has not. However, it seems from March he believes BIOS will more than double from here going into 2017, and that is my gut as well. Here are his comments from the March posting... It is a good reminder for those of us who are long.

From Dan Miller who runs the Gabelli Focus Five Fund written on March 31, 2016...

"BioScrip has continued to execute well on its operational turnaround under new management. The
company believes they can generate $50-$60 million of EBITDA in 2016, and we think they are being
conservative. The Board has a new Chairman who has been extraordinarily effective in his brief tenure.
Another new Director appointed in the last few weeks should also enable the company to pursue substantial
    revenue opportunities.
We increased our position in BioScrip in late 2015 and early 2016 when the stock was trading on fears
of bankruptcy. With liquidity concerns now largely behind the company and DSO’s improving, we believe
investors will begin to warm to the significant upside potential in the equity value of BioScrip. At 12-13x 2017
EBITDA of $65 million, we think shares are worth more than double the current price. The company is also still
actively exploring strategic alternatives with the help of Jefferies. We believe there would meaningful benefits
to merging with another home infusion provider, particularly if the deal allows BioScrip to reduce its cost of debt and further refine its management team."

As the Gage, non Chip OIM business and Wafersense revenue become known, where do you see the price of CYBE if you feel it is fully valued at the moment? Thanks cometfinder... you have been realistic and helpful on CYBE.

I wonder if we are going to be stuck in the $16 range until next earnings report? They have a lot of great business with their new products, but they have moved up a lot. I am wondering what fair value is for CYBE right now and going forward. Any thoughts?

As of March 31, 2016 Bioscript remains Gabelli's Focus Five Fund's # 1 holding. I am hoping Dan Miller, who manages the fund, will post his update on his Focus Five Fund soon.

The conference call should be interesting. We know their intention is to build their highly profitable infusion business and then sell the company. It appears to me they are on track now to do that, and with the aging population and the highly profitable infusion business in the medical area, I am hopeful they will get a good price. My gut is BIOS will continue to appreciate in share value over the next few quarters as they get more and more traction. They said they WILL be profitable this year. I will be very interested in the opinions of those more knowledgeable about this business after the conference call. jf

I don't understand why we are not attracting more analyst coverage... CYBE is a small cap value gem... what does it take to get on their radar and get some heavy volume going?

    PLSB up 29% on April 21, 2016

    by jfrancisofsi Apr 21, 2016 8:10 PM

Something seems to finally be gaining traction with PLSB... we are in a down market today and they are up 20%. Obviously, they are a speculative, very speculative play. However, many speculative plays don't even have a product yet or potential for profit. When I consider the risk on buying a .15 cent stock, I have to look at the management of the company. PLSB is run by some very successful business people who have taken other beverages and made them into winners. They are working very hard to get into markets all over the world, even China. Soda is out but healthy beverages like they offer are becoming what consumers demand. I see their products in stores like K-Mart. I have tried their products and they are really good. Their goal from the beginning has been to be bought out by a large company like Coke or Pepsi. It looks like they will be profitable this year, so they will be around to keep building out their product distribution. I originally became aware of this stock as it was touted by Toby from Fox News Bulls and Bears. Given all that, I believe this stock has a shot at being at least a ten bagger. People can buy a 1000 share for $150 bucks for a stock that has a shot of going up 200 to 300 percent if their business model continues to play out. Wow that is not much of a risk for a stock with this kind of developing potential. What do you have to lose? $200-$300 bucks? The good news is that their business model is playing out. Minimal risk... huge upside potential. Go buy their product or order it from their website. It is great. Then buy a few thousand shares and sit back and enjoy a Pulse Lemonade!
