It's not clear whether ED people might have been negligent intheir inspections or work. Everyone will try to recover from everyone else and ED is the deep pockets here. This will be a legal issue for ED for years to come. But the stock is already discounting that-it's a buy.

Look at the proportions of gas vs. oil for the two. DVN bought into the oil business at the top. CHK is still a gas co.
