No it is not. This newly created company provides ships which will provide services to the offshore drilling industry.
They will price it as high as the idiots out there will pay. Probably already spoken for by lead underwriters at the average price of the last few weeks of trading. Current shareholders get screwed by dilution again. This keeps happening every time the stock rallies. Herb's dividend policy is flawed and he won't admit it.
Mr. Bofah is an upaud writer on Seeking Alpha who is trying to establish credibility by authoring these articles.By unpaid I mean he can be paid by click as can anyone who wants to. Of more interst is the fact that the other people mentioned on his website as employees appear to be made up. His articles are provocative but simply do not matter.
Could be a lot of things going with that trade. dont' forget that every trade has at least two sides. Perhaps somebody was sitting on a nice profit on NOK and just sold a covered call.
Don't forget that you can sell option as well as buy them. Understanding and using options should be part of any active traders toolbox. I am not talking about buying calls and hoping the stock goes up.
Options expired last week. I agree that Bernstein has always been clueless about NOK but options don't expire at the end of the month.
OLN has been in the ammunition business for over 100 years. The chlor-alkali, bleach, industrial chemical is more cyclical than the ammo business but there is no reason to break up a well-managed organization. I suggest any interested investor listen to the last couple of quarterly conference calls.
Three names for the long haul: PCL, MRO, OLN. Pricey right now but buy on weakness and reinvest dividends.
I own some of those and have an order in for 10 more @ 1.20. Will keep buying them @ 1.20 or less every time I can the rest of the month. Watch for blocks of 10 and that will be my order. That strike price and date looks very good to me right now.
Mr. Elop inherited a company in a downward spiral. He has made some tough decisions and should be admired for his courage. As a stockholder I wish him well and I am confident in his leadership.
Lots of money on Wall Street that do merger arbs and you can bet they are in this stock. My advice is dont play that game as you know going in what your upside is. Risking any money for a 1-2% upside is just not wrth the risk that the deal doesn;t close. Remember where the stock price was before thiswhole thing started.
Remember the new ownership group has already reviewed all of the financials in coming up with this price. The lawsuits will just be sabre rattling to extract a slighlty higher price. If the dissident shareholders make too strong a case the deal is off and the stock goes back below $10. A competing bid is unlikely due to the current ownership stake by Mr. Dell. Silver Lake, MSFT and banks are not rookies to htis kind of thing. They would not have offered 13.65 if they did not think it would go through. Personally I was hoping for more but I intend to take my loss and move on. No more upside here.
January? As in already expired? they are history and worthless. If hwoever you mean January 2014 and the buyout is less than $15 they will also be worthless. If the buyout is in excess of $15 you may have a winning hand.
Not reported because it is an unsubstantiated article from an "unnamed" source quoted in the Economic Times.
NOK has had this board authorization for several years. They also made a statement when it was renewd that it was unlikely they would act on it. This is not news.
You should go back and re-read that Spanish new story. He never even hinted at Android. Bad reporting started a rumor that NOK denied.
Sir, You are either and idiot or a liar. The man Obama mentioned was a Virgina Tech survivor. I strongly support the 2nd amendment and think BO is using this tragedy to put forth his own anti-gun agenda but let's deal with truth and facts. Facts such as Chicago having the highest handgun murder rate and the toughest gun laws.
