Now that Soros brought shares of BABA after selling FB - what would Chanos/Barons/and the rest of those with agenda do/say?
Seriously - as small investors posting on these MB - we're not the one moving the price of the shares (long/short) - it's the titans/institutions/mutual funds buy and sell that does - but I do enjoy the 'entertainment' value of reading/posting with a tilt toward optimistic outlook .....
You should ask these folks:

The 40 thieves in this case are WS crooks (Chanos/etc) keeping this thing down so they can buy cheap ....... no other company has the depth/reach of this giant e-commence co. with it's tentacles spreading into all facet of it's business needs - it's a serious threat to companies like ebay/amazon/netflix/etc just name a few ....
It appears some selling from buyers who brought in the 60-70s making a nice return and buyers who waited and are buying today - the sellers today will be buying back higher when the numbers comes out after 11/1/15 ....
Note that this is not just a story of beating the est. for the first time - it's the beginning of the trend from BABA's smart investments in Mobile/Datacenters/Youku/etc for the future ....
SEC should investigate the purpose/agenda of that article ......
Goggle this subject/title and see who is the better buy and the rationale of why - shorts and longs should read the artical and decide for themselves - personal statements of short/long in a message board is mere entertainment then investigative facts.
BABA reports on the Oct 26th Beijing time which is 12 hours ahead of EST making it the Oct 27th US time.
Always better to under report and over deliver than over report and under deliver - are there hidden agenda with high estimates so they can benefit when it won't hit the target with a short position in place?
BTW - Zacks Consensus Estimate stands at 32 cents.
Anything above .32 would be welcome news for 'investors' ....!!!
does anyone google anymore???
Hon Hai & Alibaba to announce venture
The China Post
Date: October 12, 2015
By Stephanie Chao
TAIPEI, Taiwan — Terry Gou (郭台銘), chairman of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., is slated to announce a joint venture with Alibaba at the upcoming 2015 Hangzhou YunQi Conference in Hangzhou, China on Oct. 14.
Gou’s speech, according to sources cited by local media, including the Central News Agency, will likely revolve around a joint collaboration between Hon Hai’s Foxconn Technology Group and Aliyun, a cloud computing subsidiary under Alibaba. Foxconn Vice President Chen Zhenguo (陳振國) and Aliyun President Hu Hsiaoming (胡曉明) are expected to make their own announcements as well.
The Hangzhou YunQi Conference, which will run from Oct. 14 to 15, will have the theme “Internet, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.” Alibaba Chairman Jack Ma is also slated to make a panel speech on Oct. 14
It actually looks better from the report ....
BEIJING (Reuters) China's September exports fell 3.7 percent from a year earlier, less than analysts had expected.
Analysts polled by Reuters had predicted exports would fall 6.3 percent after a drop of 5.5 percent in August.
Seriously - when Columbus discovered 'new land' called America is the beginning of the end for the Native American whom incidentally came to this 'new land' from Northeastern Asia/China via the Bering Strait during the ice age.
Same goes for the Pilgrims who arrived on Plymouth Rock = Thanksgiving.
So in essence - yes - Happy C Day but not to the Native Americans ......
The lower middle/poor still shops at Walmart while the middle/upper class shops at Costco - both are doing well - what's your point?
