    5 Billion of new securities

    amazing,
time for action. I love it when guys vaporize during good times and then post like mad when six month or more old predictions come to fruition.

nothing to say on tcap, main, fsc, ares, mcc, all very different yet no BDC spared and all down significantly yet you continue to paint this fall in equities and BDC's as Prospect Capital specific.

Anybody have any though out response to the declines we are seeing in the space? BDC specific? Or is this simply we did not rise with the market but money coming out has caused us to follow the markets down?

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • jmkdog jmkdog Oct 14, 2014 3:05 AM Flag

Agree , hopefully BDC's will catch a bid as money comes back in

  • Using the downturn in world markets and us equities and somehow making it personal by making claims PSEC current 11 % drop under NAV is due to EARNINGS and DIVIDEND sustainability. Ridiculous.

The real agenda is as follows.

The current negative posters wish you to believe they are here to inform , advise and protect. The supposed gains they have made here simply lessen the losses elsewhere.
Check out the stock CDZI if you need proof, check out FSC and realize these folks other holdings are GETTING CRUSHED.

Everyone keeps chiding Prospect yet it is not an equity on an island, it actually held today which those negative posters should have alluded to, commented on? The charters, the options trsders, the swing gang, the shorts? Not at all surprised that the color next to PSEC is GREEN and the color next to your holdings is BLOODY?

I am going on offense now, I am down but no where near out, and I will be aided by some deeper pocketed folks

Slick , seriously you are blind man, all BDC's are down BIG as well as MLP's, heck the Russell, the nasdaq, the s and p , uh the dow, dollar up, this IS A BIG DOWNWARD MOVE and whilst earnings brought PSEC down to 10.18 or so this move to 9.37 is an OUTFLOW based solely on an exodus from MOST EQUITIES , it is not in any way specific to PROSPECT.

Look at the BDC's , many of which have fallen HARDER than Prospect. Today Prospect was a lone green blip.

You have no clue about the "monetizing event" , funny you do not cite the LUMPY Q4 earnings as lacking some big dividend payments and the RESTRUCTURING of the CONTROL companies as well as the COMPLETE write down of NCT as having any impact on Q4 2014 earnings.

You are quick to point out a one time event caused PROSPECT TO SUBSTANTIALLY BEAT in Q1, yet no other BDC reports out 3-9 months of dividends, In a few weeks you will be shown the light and most of your theories dispelled

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • jmkdog jmkdog Oct 11, 2014 12:58 AM Flag

BDC's are getting murdered , all of them. Your either in or out no need to switch. Prospect likely swoops in and buys some smaller players

    PSEC Management Fees

    by sierra_whiskey_fife_niner_fife Oct 10, 2014 7:51 PM
jmkdog jmkdog Oct 11, 2014 12:54 AM Flag

Management fees are based on assets under management. In Q1 the fees are under 10m/month , incentive fees are minimal. The highest we have seen was around 16.7m/mo and this was management base coupled with incentive fees.

It would be prudent to spin off and cut the fees down under 2% so NII could easily cover the dividend.

You have done well but do not make the same mistake , just do not get greedy, take your monies and go long prior to the massive portfolio move and share repurchase

Slick, this is not at all true, since being removed from the Russell those sales were completed by June 30th , the 17-18% level is a result of those sales that you witnessed in APRIL, MAY and JUNE 2014. You are just making up stuff as you go. Management has been pointing out since index removal the stock is majority OWNED BY RETAIL. This has been the case for several MONTHS.

Slick , make up your mind. Did you BUY at 9.66 or do you believe it will have poor earnings despite the fact they already provided you an 8k filed with the SEC stating they had earned a SUBSTANTIAL amount above and beyond the .33 required to cover thy dividend in Q1 2015?

So who are you? A trader that purchased today, shorted today ? This will rise back to NAV despite the mass declines in the indicies,

Your ignoring the area: It is A COLLEGE TOWN, what re the apartments around Columbia renting for, how about NYU? The place is teeming with folks wanting to get in , 30 year old ? so what, next you will tell me the river the property fronts has to be moved,

Zell and all other insiders are selling EQR, it is an assumption to believe it is due to falling rent, likely PROFIT TAKING.

Rent is rising in College towns and that trend is intact

Sorry in my review of the AIMCO financials dating back to 2011-2014, there is absolutely no proof in what you have stated publicly. This purchase of one of the largest complexes in the United States is not one of discard rather opportunity, 95% occupied 11% rise in y/y rents. Do you know the monthly cash flow from the property? Do you know the terms of the debt borrowed from Prospect? This was a ONE STOP deal where PSEC controlled the terms, not some desperate shedding by AIMCO. This is an "other area" property which is outside the current focus markets of the East Bay SF and East side of MH.

The REIT side of the PSEC balance sheet is very small portion of total assets, You can be mad about Fort Wayne but you provided no data points from the financials to back your factless claim. Your profiteering by spreading false financial doctrine is tiresome

I have done the math, and I will AGREE with you , as of this moment , SPY and TLT would offer a better result if liquidated this moment and purchased at inception. However you fail to grasp the following.

Prospect has paid out over thirteen bucks per share, making it possible to have a cost average of less than 5.00 in some cases folks HAVE a zero cost as the shares in the accounts have been 100% purchased using the cash from the dividend.

You already know all this, uptick....uptick, hmm
