It's plausible that Apple needed to separate the world wide launch & all the OS7 upgrades from the launch of China Mobile for logistical reasons (inventory mgmt, server traffic, etc.). Can you imagine trying to manage 9 millions iPhone sales plus a China Mobile introduction at the same time? Why risk it? I think we'll see staggered roll outs in the future.
Take the new 5S and slap a larger screen on it before Xmas sales begin. Use the extra space from the larger case to install an even larger battery. Keep the other components the same. --- Lower the price of the 5C by $50 bucks. Exercise the entire buyback right now. Done, you'll be GOLD. Pun intended.
Funny how the Apple haters at CNBC and the stock bloggers all dumped on the GOLD iPhone announcement. Consumer demand is off the charts and supply is short. Today is killing CNBC having to talking about the "long lines" at the Apple Stores. So funny to watch.
Tech and gadget lovers want the newest, fastest and coolest device in their hands. They will pay extra for it as the phone is used hundreds of times per day (email, internet, gaming, videos music). Did you buy a lowest cost/slower pc over the last two decades because you could save a few bucks? No, you didn't. But now we can compete with the low end competitors as well. We want everyone on the iphone platform because the next big thing will be mobile payments for all of our daily purchases. Do miss the big picture worried about margins and competition between the two devices. Apple and Banking is the NEXT BIG THING.
