We watch the the corporate debt because it is the best gauge of a company's health . It often foretells a company's health. Generally speaking... if a company 's bonds are trading around 20% as MHR and SD have in the past...there are people questioning the survival of the company and its ability to pay debts. Bond movements usually precede ratings changes as the ratings agency are the last to know. Remember.. Bond owners get paid first . Use the yield movement to track the underlying security [Stock]. VNR is in my opinion one of the better MLP's out there. Good luck.
