Kobode: Maggie says: "With Tesla's insight (I assume he means the current company and not the original Mr.Tesla) ... it was now possible to make an electric car that would raise the bar for performance/civility/cost in cars." I suppose it does when compared to your example 1,000,000,008! So give him a silver star. But for the rest of the car world Tesla is simply irrelevant with respect to the bar for performance/civility/cost. There has never been any indication that the engineers, the marketing departments, or the finance departments of Audi, MB,GM, BMW, Lexus etc. have spent more than a minute considering the flamed S. And if sales in California are any indication throw the consumer in that list too.
Step right up folks. You can't win if you don't play! So is it a profit or a loss in Q4? (Hint: That's an easy one. Of course we aren't talking made-up Eloon-fantasy non-GAAP numbers.) So is it 60M loss, 75M loss, 90M loss, 100M loss? (And the M stands for millions!) Or does it not matter since it's all an investment in the future and the loss will help fund the X or the Giga?
LOL Keefer2. I just hope my wife doesn't read your posts. She might get the idea that it's fine to get a major car repair every few weeks if it's good enough for a Tesla. The minor repairs (nicking garage walls, parked cars, light standards etc) already test my limits so any ideas that a major repairs are standard would push me beyond rationality. How the Tesla owners accept their repair shop experiences and defective product is well beyond my understanding and capability. They truly must be a special breed.
LOL maggiedear. You did forget to mention that the company that makes these wonderful electric contraptions has to make a profit doing it. Otherwise they won't be doing it for very long. And, just one other minor issue: they have to be sold a at price that is affordable to the mass market, otherwise it's just a freshman engineering project. So let me save you a lot of thinking. The electric car isn't ready for the big time. Golf carts excepted.
LOL. Keefreborn Everytime I read one of your notes from the various TMC I wonder. I am amazed, nay almost dumbfounded. I have to slap myself, hard sometimes, to make sure I'm not dozing or asleep. And I ask myself would I ever keep a car that had those problems. At least when I am awake I have a very clear one word two letter answer that starts with N and ends with O. (That was a wee tiny joke that I doubt the owners of those Teslas could figure out.) It must be the cult. That's all I can guess at.
LOL crocfullofshit Were you at all aware that a company can set the authorized common stock at any level they want; and that in many jurisdictions the concept of authorized is completely gone. It was an invention of the earliest days of limited companies. So somehow you think (used in a very loose sense) that an arbitrary number of shares (1.8B no less) can be sold to somebody, somesucker, somegrandmother for a total of 18B. Without a question, not a doubt in my mind - You win the prize for the joke of the day. You personally, You as a total joke of the day.
LOL faddie Where did you come from? And what does the price of tea in China have to do with the Amazon experience have to do with the Tesla scam?
LOL Kb. Some of us will remember, and I suspect you too. Some of us also have Jonass on permanent IGNORE.
LOL Keefster... pass along the message that I too had problems with my battery. Of course it was on a golf cart and I just walked the last three holes, and let them do the flat bed or whatever. Actually enjoyed those last three more than the first fifteen...And the moral is: Treat an S with all the respect you give to a golf cart.
LOL.... Vicki.. I've already got a 200/2020 for £20. And there is no congestion fee either. Home to office and all about town... Called the Oyster Card.
LOL. LoneDanger. Just show me one lone dollar of profit. Not that it will make up for a Billion dollars of losses over the last eleven or twelve years... Just one lone dollar of profit.
LOL. The gigafactory isn't worth the money spent for the concrete - and don't forget to exclude the cost of the rebar too. An empty half constructed factory in the desert does not compute to billions, or millions or thousands. Things are worth billions when they earn billions. Show me the profits.
LOL... Dontbecoy. Let's think about it for a minute. Ok, the minute's over. No, the WS boyz will not be putting their own money in this piggy. All they want is the chance to flog it and take a cut. And it's going to be a big big cut if they can pull it off. It's not at all clear there are more buyers (set right up you can't win if you don't play) out there. But hustlers like to hustler. So what do you think they are going to do?
LOL WitsNit. Show me the profits. Show me the profits that justify even a $10 stock...
LOL Arise and awake all yea... Aristo has said double up and double up again.. Some of us are waiting for today's glad tidings.. Could it be the same?
