hey hey hey, good bye lights out real soon. More market share for VVUS to own once this tird is stripped of all it's dignity. Baupost is in it for the short term gain, not a long term interest. They will not be kind to the long investor. Six months and OREX is no more as we know it.
The shorts feast on approvals for one good reason. It takes a lot of time and money to market a drug and in the meantime, they just short it to death. Seen it too many times. Today is the day to sell. Take the 20% uptick and move on. I am not invested in this stock nor do I want to be. Mark this post and in 24 months, let's see where it ends up.
Their will be run, the shorts won't allow it. It will be bought out or taken under. They are the only two viable options. The shorts won't let it run because if the PPS starts to climb, then it would add more fire to a possible BO price. It stays right here, never getting above $2 unless an offer is made. It's getting dangerous now to day trade this as the clock is ticking for management to step up and find a viable suitor.
It allowed people to think there was a positive end in site so they could get out from whatever buy in price they had. The shorts knew that this was a fake date so they could start the cover brigade. Most people would be willing to just let it ride for three more months because on the 31st, we will all be millionaires, or so they believed. Wait until they say negotiations are still on going but we don't expect a decision to be finalized until the end of Q2. This will now entice the shorts to drop the price again sub $1 and cover even quicker. By the time summer rolls around the market cap will be under 100 million and people wont care about VVUS anymore. The company will be bought for $95 million as a mercy purchase. It will be take private and then resold for $4.50/share and we all get squat. Not so far fetched huh. The shorts cover and get out and whoever buys it at a steep discount will make 4x their purchase price and the retail longs get screwed again. That's the law of biotech investing. If a biotech doesn't get to 1 billion in sales the 1st year it will be shorted to death before it withers away.
Wow you are out on a limb with that statement, huh. They will have a BO or not, they will issue a catalyst or not. Man do you charge for your advice!!
I guess the MM and shorts are exempt from trading fees too which is probably why we need to pay so much.
By the time you pay for your commissions to buy and sell, and your short term capital gains on your profit at the end of the year, you made squat.
The allowed a few shorts to cover a little with the idea that they could open another short at the higher price. That's what we have the last two days. The spike is early and the pull back is slow and linear. That allows them to get out from their longest position and buys them more time. I need to go short too. seems like there is more money to be made??
I think we should rename this stock to "SOON" instead of TROV. It seems like everybody's comments about this stock have that word in it. Revenue will be "soon", publications will be issued "soon", earnings will be generated "soon", a BO will not be imminent but "soon". They will reveal their next move "soon", the shorts will get squeezed "soon", we will make money "soon". You can't make this $&it up. As "soon" as everyone realizes that we are all puppets in someone else's show, the "sooner" you you'll realize that the MM will tell us when we can make money with this stock. I hope we her from them "soon?"
Here we go with that leaked BS. How about we agree when the stock is green, it's gong up and when it's red it's going down. How and why it moves is a guess and doesn't even matter anyway. Stop with the leak. If you don't know what is moving the PPS then why the need to offer an opinion
The shorts cover a small amount of shares to artificially inflate the price, maybe they even get a few newbies to chase it. The rest of the day you see what happens. They walk it back down and re-borrow the shares they just covered. This is why you never see real short squeezes. Most shorts cover amounts throughout so their days to cover just keeps getting extended. Unless there is a BO or unexpected clinical news, they will not have to sell. Even a BO offer limits their downside unless their becomes a biding war.
We'll see how it holds.
Did you see the open? Someone had to cover early and then they walked the price right back down. Why does every long investor think that just because the stock goes up it has to be because of a news leak, a potential BO or some other news event? Why can't shorts cover and then walk the price right back down. That never seems to be an option?? Puzzling to me.
It's funny, when you look at the company's max PPS chart, they've never had a price that high ever recorded. If the tender offer was legitimate, the PPS would have jumped to the price point just as a justification for the offer. BUSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never saw somebody spend so much time analyzing the movements of a stock in the rage of a few pennies. Do you have a life? No one seems to care about how the stock is moving intraday. If it goes up then fine, if it drops, we #$%$. That's it!
Standard mumbo jumbo for every bio tech out there. There was a reason why the stock dropped 50% at one time, remember? Nothing's changed with that.
