Completely agree, stay the course. Add if you can, open a position if you're not in.

Depo management hasn't exactly lighted the parade route with their performance, shares have sagged recently following last quarter's earnings miss. Shareholders can look across the way and see a better track record of growth, thus by folding into Horizon, they can out perform and get the immediate pay day with better prospects and lower tax base.

Acknowledgement due Geri, you know the potential and mirror his thinking, you were right the idea and the timing, that spells successful investing to me. Can't underestimate this man's vision, he is a big thinker, his vision (and his ability to scale up the organization) to achieve these goals is truly remarkable.

I don't think management of Depomed has had enough time (yet) to digest what has been thrust in front of them by such a well organized acquisition team. Horizon is waiting to see how the major holders of DEPO weigh in on their interest, thus it would be premature for Horizon to negotiate against themselves by raising their offer before they knew if the first offer was acceptable to the major holders or not.

It appears as though there is a broad chasm of differing viewpoints here, and of course Management is protective of their jobs, being swallowed most certainly would send this team out.

This is a great buy at this level. Good for you recognizing it and taking on more shares. I last loaded in the $17's, now have a full position. Good luck.

We have 64% institutional ownership now but this company is in high demand, we all see it, mentions everywhere, even an article today in the Wall Street Journal. I have no concerns over this, Horizon has hit all th big channels recently and will continue to attract strong hands.

What HZNP + DEPO would look like

Geringerart thinks Depomed's revenue picture if run through our marketing system would double those revenues in a year. Take that into consideration, puts your revenues at $1.26B, with market cap at $12.6B, gets you close to $50 a share using your 10X price to sales. Now increase that by 50% if you use 15 price to sales multiple! How do you like them apples? Oh, that leaves out further acquisitions, which today they said they will, even if this goes through, still be making further acquisitions in the $20-200M price category, of course meeting all their metrics! Don't forget we have just swallowed Hyperion, and are looking ahead to enormous growth with Actimmune, so much it boggles the mind, unless your initials are TW!

I seriously doubt it, leaving the other exchanges open for them to look bad? This was costly to their reputation and they rushed to get it back online, but the event is now of record, and will give companies pause as to whether they'd be better off elsewhere.

Lube, Yahoo Finance is being attacked by hackers, this message board is now the third one that this has Vietnamese short script at the top just before the company name. IDRA, HZNP, AVXL. I'm not sure Yahoo even knows about it, but I have no idea how to bring it to their attention. Do you have any Vietnamese friends who can tell us what it means? Rough day today, hope it's isolated to just today and doesn't continue.

Good genes (even the right jeans) can make for good legs that money can't buy! Was a good day to be away unless you had good cash on hand to buy shares on sale everywhere, being down $0.40 is easily recovered, but what we're looking for must wait on Q2-3-4 and next year's growth to develop. Patience and unwavering faith, that's the winning formula here.

Rus, not only is your information wrong and dated, it is clear you are depressed and in need of support. Nasdaq reports institutional holdings at 54.43% with 99 holders holding $173M worth of shares. Those increasing their positions far outweigh those who reduced or closed positions. You should have sold your shares on yesterday's spike, you don't reflect confidence in your holding here, nor the temperament to invest in biotech. It is sad reading your posts, you sound very depressed. Leave your shares alone and stop watching if you can bear it, come back in 3-6 months and discover what your investment returned to you. Good luck Rus.

Depo is now trading within .30 of the offered price 29.25, so they still think it's going to happen. I would agree that TW has already got their chess moves figured out, they don't enter into these things without a well thought out game plan. I remain hopeful, going to have to wait here to see what develops. Should the deal go together as scripted, the day they announce it we should get some nice share price action, maybe that is what spurs our next breakout, either that or the Q2 report.

Am I am 103, thought I had already voted, but got it today, what a loser she is.

  • drop it down $0.30 after almost a week of failing to drop it more than one cent. But it took a horrendously bad market day to get it done. Now, today, the next day, we have trouble recovering a few cents, when the market and biotech is on the move? Some things are just lost on me, this stock should be well over $4.00 now, and that's where it's headed, just don't know when they're going to light the fuse.

It's death by a thousand paper cuts, they are slowly taking the life out of investor's with the slow bleed. I think the right thing to do is buy, but I don't chase losing stock positions down anymore.

    My Opinion

    by amano_7 Jul 9, 2015 7:01 PM
jrdelane jrdelane Jul 9, 2015 7:24 PM Flag

We sure as help can't hold any gains, that much is for sure. We have talked ourselves into holding onto this position, I among you and the others. But as I've had capital here, I've doubled capital elsewhere and not all my positions are in the green, but this one is and yet my ROI is small, not what I came here for. So, like many here, I plan to wait and see these catalysts arrive, and then after the fact, the ROI as measured in time may be decent, or very good, or just as good as my best position which happens to be Horizon Pharma. What I know about myself is I'd rather take a low return and be here for most of the ride, than try to chase it once it has launched. I got most of my shares very early in Horizon and have seen that become a power house of a stock. This one should be no different in time. Horizon may in fact come back around to buy Idera once they have some drugs approved, they want more play in the orphan drug arena. Right now they are in a hostile bid to acquire DEPO, for $3 billion.

Good post, I agree there's so much attention here by the dark side, and they've persistently worked to remove upside and disillusion longs by keeping the price low. You've answered the why for this huge effort by shorts and hedge funds to run this one down, and the only thing that will cure the situation is indisputable good news on the Company and their trials. I am ready, we've been early here, our time is coming.
