    Company news

    by samyarabian 22 hours ago

The longer Hobbs waits to address investors, the greater the expectation builds toward his delivering something of real magnitude. Yet we haven't heard squat. His imprint on this company has yet to be felt, maybe the BOD has only decided to use him as a placeholder until such time as they hire a new leader. I believe Wotten was asked to step down as others here have suggested, glad for that but we do need leadership and without it shares continue to fade.

I've seen it posted, that Buffett said "The Stock Market is the transfer of wealth from the impatient-- to the patient" and if he actually said that, which I tried to verify, then he's right.

I've had him on ignore since coming here, why wouldn't everyone, he's made a shitpile out of this board!

  • I am not, but I'm sure others here are. Actually, if you buy here, I think you will prosper. Profitability is in sight I believe, certainly within the year and with other catalysts enumerated many times by others here on the horizon, it's a good bet from here. I am already fully subscibed elsewhere, good luck. I hold with many of you awaiting the inevitable run up, back to water level. Originally I had forecast a hold until 2017, any projections of price out that far? $15?

I was at the Angels baseball game yesterday against the Mariners, and it ended on the last pitch when the Angel's scored the winning run in the bottom of the 9th inning. To use an analogy, here we are in the early innings of the game, and you are wanting to score winning runs now! Let the game play out, this one has got the right elements for success, admit it or you wouldn't be here. Just can't force it, anyone ever tell you it takes patience to invest in biotech stocks?

Tappy any red flags in ATRS investment thesis?

    by nkkjuas Jul 20, 2014 10:35 PM

Tappy, I would agree the stock is undervalued, to a greater extent than at any previous time I have been invested here. To think that we're now halved from the few times it has rallied to $5.00 is reflective of the harsh treatment investors have assigned to the stock. I have resisted adding more to this one, in fact took some shares to sale at 2.54 but still holding a small position. Eventually, this will return to us, one has to think.

They don't have to make huge money to have this be a great investment for the rest of us. There are other significant tutes that will hold through to BO, and we should prosper even without Deerfield's cash drawer.

SEC investigating 10 Hedge Funds, bashers next?

I agree with you, was just a touch of wishful thinking, smiling as I wrote it, SEC needs to go after big guys as they have limited resources for the individual insignificant bashers. It does give me a sense of hope that we SE these occasional enforcement actions.

  • "The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has been seeking information on 10 registered broker dealers as part of an ongoing investigation into high-frequency trading strategies, according to an internal SEC document reviewed by Reuters.
The firms listed are Allston Trading LLC; Hudson River Trading LLC; Jump Trading LLC; Latour Trading LLC, which is an affiliate of Tower Trading; Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, owned by Bank of America Group; Octeg LLC, which has been merged into a unit of KCG Holdings Inc; Tradebot Systems Inc; Two Sigma Investments LLC; Two Sigma Securities LLC; and Virtu Financial.
They are all some of the largest trading firms in the U.S. Allston and Jump are both based in Chicago. Hudson River, Latour, Merrill, Two Sigma, and Virtu are headquartered in New York. KCG is in Jersey City, New Jersey, and Tradebot is based in Kansas City, Missouri.
Jump, Latour, Bank of America, Hudson River, Tradebot and KCG declined to comment. The other firms did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Their number and the open-ended quest for information shows that the SEC is casting a wide net as it looks to unearth wrongdoing in the marketplace. A number of government agencies, including the SEC, New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have said they had active probes into high-speed and automated trading.
The SEC has been seeking evidence of abuse of order types, as well as traditional forms of abusive trading like "layering" or "spoofing" and other issues relating to high-frequency trading that might be violations of the law, SEC Director of Enforcement Andrew Ceresney told Reuters in May.
Spoofing and layering are tactics where traders places orders that they cancel before they are executed to create the false impression of demand, aiming to trick others into buying or selling a stock at unreal..."

  • And Sovaldi is far from the only new treatment to roll out with a hefty price tag. Roche's ($RHHBY) latest breakthrough cancer med, the HER2-positive breast cancer treatment Kadcyla, made its debut at $94,000 per treatment course, and Bristol-Myers Squibb's ($BMS) melanoma treatment Yervoy runs more than $100,000.

When Neuvax is approved the revenues to Gale will be astronomical as it reaches market acceptance.

Only if you bought into it. Granted, only the shorts have made money here and all they got were red thumbs. It could be a good long play from here but I'm not adding. Holding my last 5,000 shares.

Hi guys, good thread, decided to chime in. My gale position is 30k shares, @ $2.50. I think $4.00 is a given by q2 '15, and should Neuvax get approved it's easily a 20-bagger in three years. I also am here with 13k shares of SYN just about break even, after holding half my position through Estriol trial outcome and ensuing volatility. Both are strong bets IMHO.

I hear ya. We'll get there. Truth be known, provided you have short term gains as I do, we will be benefitted at tax time 2015 by a lower gain, getting larger later boost in PPS after merger closes. Not going to sell ahead of merger closure, which is highly assured but never guaranteed in these times.

What's crazy is it was only up 2% don't you think? With this quality name getting so oversold, I would have expected more like a .90 move up, matching the uncalled for .90 move we had down on Wednesday. In another month, I will be shocked if we haven't gone back up to at least $17.

You seem to be myopic as to other good stories out there. Why buy more of any stock where there has been such a misplaced confidence? Your one big idea had better work! Ask Ginny how it's worked for her, and many others here who did as you are doing now.

I have no idea what the board would approve. Only guesses I've seen are on this MB but those people are saying it's worth X, and there is pressure to act, so it's more a question as to what is being bid by how many potential buyers? I'd venture a guess at $16/share.
