  • Ok, getting bored here, glad it's only a fraction of my portfolio. This is total BS, there's some hedge fund playing this, same experience over at SNTA. They trade so similarly, even PPS, that owing both is like getting confused between twins. I think by this time next week we have broken out of this trading range, if you think up, as I do, chime in...this MB is almost dead, why not say what you think? Save it from total neglect and say something!

    Should I buy more?

Yes Ranger, we are in three of the same names, kinda rough sledding today but not so much here. I added here today at 2.26, a relatively small position compared to IDRA. Bruce Kovner, board member, is largest insider, holding 37 million shares. See the post WOW to read more about him. Then read what Trollingtrolls has to say, he has some interesting ideas of what may be getting ready to happen. These guys have many ongoing trials, it feels further along than IDRA, in fact it is. Glad I have some more conservative bets in HZNP, OSIR, LCI--they are paying me well to be involved so far. I feel like I'm taking a lot of risk with the ones we share in, but it will either be very very good, or not... We'll see!

My levels previously posted are 18.41 next resistance, then 19.75, then 27.40. These are resistance levels that can be easily seen if you expand your chart back to August, 2013 when we had the breakout (short squeeze) to all-time highs. I see we are playing with the 18.41 level today, so likely that will be in the rear view mirror if not by close today, then by week's end. No question but the dynamics have changed around this stock, since ER and CNBC spotlight video. Going to be a great year for Osirians.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

Chiming, all in, most recent purchase 9,000 additional shares in 2.80-82 range. 72,000 shares includes 6k each for my two daughters. First buy around 6.50, will have to check, around 1,000 shares I believe. Cheapest shares 2.01.

O/T. Almost forgot. LCI, new position @53.50. Very strong stock, just finished correction, up nicely today on their takeover news. Next target $75. Going to be a great year, first half was amazing. GL.

O/T. Andre, OSIR is going to break out, the earnings are going to be ever stronger the rest of the year. I just added last week 50% more Hznp shares, ever stronger! IDRA is a third large position for me, up 12.37% today. Trov has been strong, Bioc may be next one to blow up, already made good bank on all these, more modest on IDRA due to recent retracement. My very best, Jr.

I posted about Caxton Corp, and provided my source, so if you want to elucidate the board on Caxton Associates, please do so. Like I said, I am getting up to speed here and if you have something to add to the discussion, get on with it, but don't throw me under the bus for making a contribution.

Hey ranger43a, just want to thank you for your very credible contributions. I noticed we are both in the AVXL name, you before me, but I'm there now and am looking forward to their next leg up. The data they announced today on epilepsy was very positive but didn't move the needle, so I bought more after the data release, figuring it was baked in and will rise later when their other candidates shine. With the price targets of the analysts and their pipeline serving unmet needs in the $billions, it sure looks like a winner. Glad to know you were there first.

He included me in that accusation, since I had come to your defense. What a misfit, at least on this message board, but he sure seems to enjoy himself. I hope he gets some help, he's definitely got some issues.

Thanks Hugh, we did indeed add more shares, myself and my two daughters are nicely in the green today.

Today's action erased all my red ink on this name. Now posting a profit and that is only day two of the reversal! We all knew this was coming, glad I was able to add 20% to my position when we dipped under $3.00. It was brief, that took my average share value down to 3.26. Each of my two daughters now own 6,000 shares of IDRA, and both are in the green as well today. Thanks MGM for all your steadfast support of the Company, now the stock can catch up to our expectations.

You can only get to it by going to another MB first, then type in sgyp in the box for the MB you seek. Once there, bookmark it. Going way up tomorrow is what I hear. Good luck.

From what I've gleaned here the time is now right for the upcoming data sets to support the stock, and the chart seems to indicate we've found the bottom, after they've done their offering, and in fact it is rising now out of that trough. I've been here only a couple of weeks, and I'm asking myself the same question. I think I will buy more, but I don't have your history, my only 5,000 shares were just purchased at 2.27. It's easier for me to view this more positively than if it had underperformed for years in my portfolio. Depends on your own risk tolerance and cash availability, and the alternative investment ideas you compare to.

  • There was a time I held 45,000 shares of HZNP, that was last year. Now, I hold quite a bit less, but did manage to add 5,000 more shares last week before it ran up on Friday. I'm hoping to add just a bit more, even so, as my other stocks evolve, in their respective timing. I'm even selling some investment real estate to put moe capital here. This has been my all time best investment across all asset classes and through the course of my life. Why not own more, if you can? Going to be a great several years people! Glad we have good company here to share our thoughts, very thankful.

I was doing some background reading tonight on Caxton Corp. They are Bruce Kovner's old firm, from which he retired, beginning in 2007 when he no longer took the lead on the firm's investments. Caxton owns 37,058,000 shares of SNTA, which represents 86.6% of the entire portfolio, according to gurufocusDOTcom. We'd better hope their big bet works out, so they don't decide to leave or this company's stock will be crushed under the selling pressure. The following is very dated information, long since changed, but interesting nonetheless, for those like me who just invested here and am learning the story behind the Company name.

Taken from Wikipedia, Kovner's bio is as follows: "Kovner's first trade was for $3,000, borrowed against his MasterCard, in soybean futures contracts. Realizing growth to $40,000, he then watched the contract drop to $23,000 before selling. He later claimed that this first, nerve-racking trade taught him the importance of risk management. In his eventual role as a trader under the legendary Michael Marcus at Commodities Corporation (now part of Goldman Sachs), he purportedly made millions and gained widespread respect as an objective and sober trader. This ultimately led to the establishment of his current company, Caxton Associates, in 1983, which today manages over $10 billion in capital and has been closed to new investors since 1992."
