My point is that if it is such a horrible company and such a bad place to work, why do you stay? If you are half as good as you think you are, you should be able to get a job somewhere else and stop the self torture that you seem to be inflicting on yourself.
The management of this company ha run it into the ground. The new management has yet to show me any reason that they should be rewarded the way they are. But apparently the folks who orchestrated the change in the board have faith as they bought nearly three million shares at around $5.69. So, either those guys are incredibly stupid, or things are going to get better.
I do not hesitate to make my feelings clear on things concerning O.D. My opinion changes a lot. But if I worked there and felt as you apparently do, I would find myself another job. If you know what you are doing, it shouldn't be to hard.
But, to constantly bash a company that you work for just makes others think that you are nothing more than a disgruntled clerk who doesn't have the training to do anything else. Your comments are totally unprofessional and the company would be better off if you and your disgruntled cohorts just moved on.
If you are indeed a disgruntled manager at O.D., you better hope they never find out who you are.
Well, if some of the lazy #$%$ Americans would give up their weekly unemployment checks for NOT looking for a job, maybe they could get a job there as well.
They are either trying to prop up the price, or they know something that we don't. I hope it is the latter. One would wonder why they would want to purchase over two million shares at today's price unless they are pretty sure that it is going to go up.
Now the hopes are for $5 by years end? Jeez. I wish I had never turned on my computer the day I bought this junk stock. I stated in another post that it would probably settle in at half of Staples price. Unfortunately, that is not looking too promising these days either. I have lowered the target on my sell order. If it EVER makes it back up to that point, I will bid you all goodbye and wish you luck in the future. Afterwards, I won't look back. I will wish you all well if it goes higher. But, I am not convinced that it won't hit $3 the way it is going now.
The new management isn't getting rid of some of the people who got the company in this mess to start with, and they seem intent on making themselves rich at the expense of stockholders. There isn't any way in hell that these people should be getting what they are with the company STILL going down the tubes. Let them actually turn the company around and I will be the first one to vote them in a raise. Otherwise, they are just robbing the company like the previous management was so good at doing. Whatever happened to getting rewarded for performance? I haven't seen anything yet except for another massive loss - regardless of their reasoning behind it.
Give Smith a chance? Fine - Let him freeze all stock options and salaries until the company digs itself out of the cesspool that it is currently in. That is not asking too much. But it won't happen.
I figured that they would not make a profit, but the amount of the loss even surprised me. Everybody on here knows that I was NOT a fan of O.D. management, and it seems the new guys are just as bad.
If they don't do something to cook the books this quarter, this thing is gonna be pushing at $3 before long.
Every number that this company puts on paper needs to be investigated - From their expenses to the outrageous salaries and stock options they keep heaping on themselves,. They are one step away from class action lawsuit. I have had enough.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
Dude - It doesn't matter what they say. It is synergies this and that. I HATE that word. It just give them something else to mislead us with. These guys are trained bull shtires.
("Oh everything is going to be great with the merger - Whoops, we seem to have lost a shti load more money hahaha - who saw that coming? But hang in there, we are still optimistic. We are SO optimistic that we are going to give ourselves huge bonuses and salary bumps!!!)
Another huge loss. How surprising. :p
I wonder how much the crooks at the top will be rewarded for this.
I am lowering my sell target. I need to get off this yo-yo that doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
If O.D. execs have anything to do with it, there will never be a profit. They wouldn't want shareholders to actually expect any sort of dividend. I knew it would go down, but I didn't expect it to crash this far. I need to go to y doctor and get me some pills for depression. :p
If it follows past performance, it will start going down after earnings. We all have a choice. We can hang in there and hope the merged company will be strong, or we can bail and take profits. I am sitting on the fence.
If there is any profit at all, it will be coming from the former OfficeMax stores. The company was supposed to have a few hundred million left from the sale of the Mexico unit. That has probably already gone into the old as well as the new management's bank accounts. In my opinion, this company is now and has been run by nothing but crooks out to line their own pocket and be dmna.ed with the stock holders.
I think OfficeMax made a mistake with this merger. I will be surprised if they make 3 cents. I will be really surprised if they don't find a way to say they lost money like they always do. There needs to be a class action suit against these guys for robbing the company blind.
That will be a welcome change. I suppose I am jaded by all the past losing reports. I will take a "wait and see" attitude, but will not be surprised at all if they either lose money or are dmna close to that. The only reason that I have hung in this thing so long is that I believe there IS a place for these stores. Not everyone is going to walk around a 200 acre store to buy a pencil or other products. If it weren't for the lousy money grabbing management of the past, O.D. would not be basement priced right now. And now I see where new management as well as old management is already becoming rich and they have proven nothing. One of the biggest reasons this company can't make a profit is that it is all going into the pockets of management.
The only thing the volume suggests is that there are plenty of people out there making money day-trading this thing.
On another note: If projected income isn't just some pipe dream, and if Staples hangs in there, I feel that O.D. will eventually level out at half of Staple's price - whatever that may be.
Unless they come in and say they made a buck a share, the price won't go anywhere. It may bounce around a bit, but that's about all. I am not a fan of management until they show me they can make money. Making money is something O.D. has not been able to do in a long time. We will be bombarded with reasons for this or that (losses) for years to come. Lord, just let it hit my target so I van get the hlle out of this thing. :)
I will go out on a limb here and say "Loss". I will be surprised if they actually make any money. Sometimes I think these guys sit in their board room looking for any profit so they can give it to themselves before it has to be announced.
