Glad to see that David is presenting some great information on Seeking Alpha. I like and read most of his articles. He is very much respected and appreciated by many investors.
Just read the leases and you will see why !!
Actually, the bonds are trading right around par and close to $25. However, I am going to sell mine when they go ex-interest (which means I will sell after they make the next interest payment).
Good luck to all.
Nice work on that loss estimate for the quarter - you were right on the money.
If you multiply the quarterly loss of .26 cents time four, I get a total loss of $1.04 per share for the year !!! This will really erode book value and the limited amount of cash they have on hand.
Plus, they issued debt at 8% to buy C-stores and are still losing money. Isn't that a poor use of capital??
Wow, Expert Picks was incredibly accurate with an estimate of a .25 cent loss for the quarter - a penny off the actual results. Great job !!!
Considering I was 100% accurate about last quarter's results and you were pumping the stock and how much money they were going to make (and then they showed a loss), you may want to pay attention to my advice.
My advice was not based solely on one quarter of earnings - it is also about the future of a company that exists only to pay rent to HPT.
1) The company cannot even make money with Travel Centers
2) They diversify into C-stores, when they cannot even make money with truck stops
3) Oh - it gets better. Now they purchase the bankrupt Quaker Steak & Lube. Not even sure how they can run this, considering they are scattered all across the U.S.
4) Bottom line, the company is HPT's beeach. All they can manage to do is pay rent to the parent company.
5) No profits = no value
Back in the late 1990's?
I wish the stock was still under $20 so I could have bought more shares on the cheap !!!!
Sounds like a solid REIT to me. Current yield on the stock is still 8.4% and very well covered from FFO. What's not to like?
You said he had a question for me, and this is investment board - so he must be looking for financial advice.
There is no free lunch MRWC. Your "FREE" college would have been paid for by me and Corr. You would have then been asked to leave with your 1.6 GPA.
