Yup.... Same as Dubya`s record... in fact nearly a mirror image...

Which means that whether a Dem or a Repub is in office now a days -- the result is still going to be boom in low paying jobs... Which doesn`t help the over all economy that much.

What`s the difference between now and the 1980`s --- computers for sure....but also trade agreements with Mexico and China... The one country has a corrupt government and is riddled with drug cartels and the other government is out to rob the US blind until it can out pace it economically and militarily -- as proving by their efforts to push the bounders of their control in the S China Sea and their pegging the yuan to just below the dollar while they subsidize their home industries ....

So here`s a brilliant idea that our Business leaders have pushed us into --- lets send all our manufacturing to these 2 countries and turn the USA into low rent slave labor by 2040....

Ya know --- I think Trump isn`t serious about being President ... BUT... he makes perfect sense when he talks about trade with china and Mexico...

Horse puky..... God doesn`t talk like that.... I talk with him every night and he tells me that he doesn`t care who marries whom... in fact he doesn`t care if whom marries a bunch of whoms... just as long as they take care of and respect each other...

As for the guy who keeps sounding off in that bible.... God is #$%$ and intends to hunt him down and and give him agood working over for tricking the foolish into believing the krap he puts out.... I wouldn`t want to be in his sandals...

Best thing is Seperation of Church and STate in the USA....
As far as gay marriage --- gays are equal to every one else in the country.. pay taxes, fight in the services, etc... some are clowns but the bulk are low keyed and living normal lives as they go to work... Just like the rest of America...

If the Church and religious people don`t like it --- than you have the right to not let them be married in your `Religion`.... but you don`t have the right to deny Americans the ability to marry and become `legal` in their country under your government... Their taxes support your medicare treatments... plus our war fighters, teachers, and government....

  • What the Supreme Court ruling did was more fundamental than most Americans understand...

It preserved the division --set in the Constitution and designed by the Founding Fathers - between Church and State.

In the eyes of the State.... all men and women are created equal and therefor have equal rights-- which includes the right of marriage to whom they please along with the legal rights that come with that.

This decision leaves it up to the various Religions if they want to have these people `marry` in the boundaries of that individual religion`s laws....

So if your an American ...... you should understand and appreciate what this Supreme Court did..

If your an American BUT ... believe your religion over rides the state/ Constitution... Than your in the wrong country...

  • I read the first half of the Pope`s announcement on climate change today...

It`s well put together and makes a cogent statement about where we are and what man`s responsibities are to this planet...

And interesting statement it made was that unlike the natural system of growth, waste, recycle and growth again... the way we waste resources, etc is a `throw away mentality` ... something that works when there are few people on the earth but becomes a self fullfilling cycle of eventual death sprial when populations are in the billions ++++...

IN other words we should strive more toward the natural cycle of growth than recycle, etc...

Ultimately his statement (181 pages) is a spearhead pointed at how our society uses energy... which means it`s pointed directly at the fossil fuel industry - coal, oil, gas.... Which is the industry sector that is so big and politically powerful that it makes the banking sector look small...

And for those Republicans who say the Pope isn`t a scientist and shouldn`t be poking his nose into this --- Well -- since he`s the Catholic`s God Rep on Earth and Shepard to the Flock and protector of the God made earth --- Than way the heck shouldn`t he address this topic???? Because it deeply effects his Flock -- as droughts, floods, heatwaves, unusual snow events, food shortages, water shortages etc -- hurt people...

Besides the Vatican has the money to hire the best scientists, statistians, etc, etc to study these events --- Just like the Pentagon has unlimited funds at its disposal to do so (and the Pentagon has publically stated they see Climate Change as a major threat to the US )...

I`m thinking Inhofe, Barton , and teh Repubs that keep telling us that it`s all lies and `up in the air`.... deserve a seat in a very hot place down below...

  • kcf_07757 kcf_07757 Jun 13, 2015 3:48 PM Flag

Yea... no doubt they do love those tax breaks... and as long as the Repubs control the legislature they can gerrymander the krap out of the state and preserve those tax breaks for the `job creators`....

Wonder when the business sector is going to catch on that less money for the vast bulk of the state population means --less demand to drive their economy... Seems very much like the chicken and the egg scenario of who comes first... If you don`t have both -- you get Zero....

Which the Kansas economy is quickly starting to find out.. And they are finding out in a moderately growing economy now.... Wonder how their going to grow their way out of their problems if the economy takes a major step back --- something that is fairly cyclical in our economy... They just might default on their bonds and than they`ll look like Detroit ...that the Repubs so love to mock on ...

Brownback and the Repubs have a failing plan -- in a slowly growing economy.... so they double down on their failure by raising the taxes on their poor and middle class... Hoping that their Trickle Down theories will finally work if given enough time....

Big old Phqking Krap game they are playing with the lives of their neighbors....

So with all the country`s eyes on Kansas --- who did the ultimate Republican wish of cutting taxes big time at the top ----- Where is Grover Norquist in the news on all of this!!!! That liitle nebish was all over the news back in 2000, 2004, 2010.... 2015?? No Grover!!! How brave of him :)

You could say the same about the subprime mortgage scandal.... most of the people didn`t realize they could have gone with cheaper loans, or that their financial situation really didn`t work, but the Loan Officer pushed it anyway...

Which is exactly why Elizabeth Warren pushed for the Consumer Protection Bureau... to over see how these contracts are put together and presented.... --- If that organization does it`s job right --- we should see less of these massive scandals...

  • I look at the Republican field and just fall to my knees thanking G0d that we have had / have Republican primaries that let Americans see all the clowns in full buffoonery ....

Just imagine if the GOP cuts back on that primary circus and only puts out a couple of fully controlled candidates / robots that we can`t get a good feel for who /what they are...

Why under that scenario ---- we could have a Governor Brownback for President.... !!!!
Instead of Kansas having that pleasure....

At least lets hope Fox does the decent thing and cuts out the real ding bats.... But... based on the past record ---- Not likely...

Hey --- and did you here Jeb over in Germany bashing Putin and his government as `corrupt, etc`... My guess is Putin is looking at Jeb and thinking ----`` Another Puking BUSH!!! ... He should talk...``

An you got to love the way Jeb told the audience of foreign leaders that it was NATO that needs to confront Putin... Kinda hinting that the USA would be on the side lines, as if the USA was a disinterested party and not a founding member of NATO and it`s strongest backer/supplier... (and for you people that don`t know -- the USA was a founding member and in the first group of 12 countries that made up NATO)...

  • Nothing says FAILURE .... like a Governor threatening his entire Dept of Justice with defunding in the next budget if they vote against him...

Nothing says FAILURE .... like a Republican Governor and his Republican controlled legislature setting a new state record - 110 days in session-- trying to come up with a budget to fix the massive deficit they created when they did those massive tax cuts ---- thinking that the money was just going to roll in afterwards ...

Nothing says FAILURE .... like a Republican Governor now having to go back to the 300K businesses and farms that he made `TAX FREE` a few years ago ... and now try to tell them...`We are gonna have to start taxing you ...`` GodDam that`s got to hurt!!!!! LOL...

Wonder how long it`s gonna be before Kansas becomes a blue state ??

I just saw that video on the news--- which they played in slow motion, three times...
It shows that kid in the blue tee shirt walking to the side and his buddy bumping him which pushed him toward the cop -- when he slid...

Doesn`t show him trying to go for the cops gun, or trying to push him... in fact right after he slid he moved away ...

Makes that cop look like a hyped up idiot.... and if I were a kid and a cop pulled his gun --- more than likely I`d run too... especially after all the stuff that`s been on the news this year with cop shootings....

Another RepubAssnut that can`t read a news report...

Hawaii ditched their own self developed program for the stability of the government program... which is Obamacare also...

Why does this idiot have the right to vote ????

  • kcf_07757 kcf_07757 Jun 7, 2015 6:02 AM Flag

Well the verdict is out.... Brownback and the Repubs did exactly what I predicted...

Raised the sin taxes and enacted taxes that have a much greater impact on the middle and lower classes... And we wonder why the income gap keeps growing in this country...

  • kcf_07757 kcf_07757 Jun 7, 2015 5:59 AM Flag

Obviously the trash are those who protest at funerals.

  • The conservative paradise of Kansas is now so deeply in economic deepSheit that Gov Brownback had to eat a giant amount of crow over the weekend as he announced that they will be raising taxes in the state...

Wonder if those 192,000 businesses that he and the Repub legislature made `Tax Free` are going to be getting taxed ...or ... Would he just raise the sin taxes and hit the middle and lower classes with more taxes...

But I would think that if he did that --- his voters would turn on him and put in Dems....

    Wouldn`t that be interesting...

  • How do Conservatives support Degrading the Earth, Denying Statehood / Freedom to a People, and deny that climate change (backed by 97% of scientists globally) isn`t hurting both humanity and the world---- When the Pope decides it`s time to stand up for the moral good.?

    From Politico:

Catholic Republicans are developing a pope problem. Earlier this month, Francis recognized Palestinian statehood. This summer, he’s going to issue an encyclical condemning environmental degradation. And in September, just as the GOP primary race heats up, Francis will travel to Washington to address Congress on climate change.

Francis may be popular with the general public, but key Republican primary constituencies — hawks, climate-change skeptics and religious conservatives, including some Catholics, are wary of the pope’s progressivism. Some, pronouncing themselves “Republicans first and Catholics second,” even say they would look askance at a candidate perceived to hew too closely to the bishop of Rome. This internal conflict flips a familiar script, in which Democrats like John Kerry and Joe Biden were labeled “cafeteria Catholics” when their stances on social issues like abortion and gay marriage differed from those of the church.

“In northwest Iowa, we are discussing this a great deal, and sometimes it’s hard for us to reconcile the pronouncements we read from the Holy Father with our conservative principles,” said Sam Clovis, a Catholic and political activist who’s run for U.S. Senate and state treasurer in Iowa.

19 thumbs down .... That tells me those Yahoos are listening to Faux News and Limbaugh instead of independently looking into the lady`s background like any smart voter should be doing.... Which is exactly how we getAssHoles in congress...

18 thumbs down.... I`m guessing those are the same fools who thought that NAFTA was really going to create 177,000 new jobs per month that the lobbiests and the politicians were promising Americans if they supported it... back in 1993...

How`d that work out for America and our middle class ?

LOL... poor choice of insects to pick on ...

Scientist are desperate to try and stop the mosquitoes coming out of S. Amer and Mexico carrying Dengae Fever into the USA - some of it already reported in Florida -- ... Dengae is known in the southern hemisphere as `Break Bone Fever` because of the intensity of the pain the victim experiences...

So maybe studying mating habits of mosquitoes isn`t so crazy...

Had to give this a thumbs up to this post...

Yesterday morning on the news I watched one of the investigators for the Transportation Department tell an interviewer at that Amtrak crash that the Department has been trying for the last 2 yrs to try and get an existing device on locomotives that will slow them down independently from the driver should it show on the GPS tracking screen that the train is approaching an area over the designated speed...

He stated that should that have been installed that Amtrak train would never had hit those speeds going into that turn...
