You mean one of the most highly educated guys in the Senate .... who doesn`t believe the scientists and every major science organization in the world ...about Climate Change ????

Nahhh ... I don`t see anything weird about that ... at least nothing that would make me thing that he`s as devious and dangerous as a snake and reminds me of Sen Joe McCarthy of the 1950`s...

LOL.... Sorry I just lied to you`all... :)

Capitalism works ---- but not when you have monopolies, or near monopoly.... Than you just have Big Business ripping off everyone....

  • First you allow Comcast, Verison, etc a near monopoly.... as technology has rapidly changed how Americans get their news, keep in touch, conduct their business.... and than --- when we are all at the mercy of the new `system`... Repubs in Congress try to pass a law to allow comcast, etc to hold us all hostage to what ever they want to charge us...

From Ars technica - Tech news --- Jan 12, 2016

Republicans in Congress are advancing a bill that could strip the Federal Communications Commission of authority to protect consumers from unreasonable broadband prices. Democrats and consumer advocates warn that the bill could help Internet service providers overcharge customers and impose unfair data caps.

Never really saw `World Peace` in my life time and I`m mid 60`s...

I`m doubtful it exists .... there`s periods of smaller wars.... but never war peace... Just doesn`t exist globally.

I was just talking about this yesterday.... With oil at $35 per.... Why isn`t our gas prices lowering even more than what they are now....

I was listening to an analyst talk about -- if they run out of storage facilities- land and sea.... than the price will really plummet...

The No Fly Zone that was around Iraq while Saddam was in power only cost $ 2 Billion per year to sustain.

If we extended that for 20 yrs we would have spent $40 Billion... And he could have stayed in power in his backyard playing `Whack a Mole` on the heads of his opponents, but kept the country together...

Wonder how the average Iraqi feels today about that whole decade ?

Cruz is one of the most disturbing Repub Congressman in decades.... Absolutely brilliant guy, but willing to step on babies to get where he wants to be... Which means-- you would have to be a total idiot to trust him.

Why bother watching it when you know Hillary is going to win???

Doesn`t mean they`re not voting for her --- just means that Sander`s hasn`t beat her....

As to the 2016 election ---- Trump is the only Repub that looks like he`s winning his primary... Carson will put you to sleep... at least trump has managed large organizations... But the blacks and hispanics will vote in mass against him and since he`s Republican so will a high percent of women -especially young women...

But the hilarious thing is the Repubs aren`t really studying what Trump has said --- for instance he wants to change Obamacare... But ... he wants to see it modeled like they do in Scotland where he`s seen their nationalized healthcare system up close since he has businesses there...AND ... it impressed him..

Also ... the Repubs didn`t pay attention when he said he`s a big admirerer of Paul Volcher, the ex Fed Chief under Carter and Reagan... Volcher stated in 2009 that he backed breaking up the biggest banks and bringing back Glass Stegal -- which is exactly what Bernie Sanders wants and Elizabeth Warren--2 Dems who the Repubs hate.... But it`s OK when Trump says it ....LOL...

Repubs, at least the chest beaters without brains --- love Trump cause he talks loud and tough and made a big deal about Obama`s birth certificate and the immigration issue--- 2 topics that are read meat to this group.... and also the easiest thing that can be manipulated by a savy politician like Trump, like Cruz... but the fools don`t seem to be able to realize that...

Personally if Clinton loses to a Republican -- I hope it`s to Trump... because he`s better than the rest of those REpub idiots...

Considering that the business sector has done well under Obama.... and Fed policy .... I would expect that seeing a more stringent rightward push by the GOP is going to turn many business owners off.. especially if they shut down the government , etc... or they start putting in deep budget cuts that begin to slow up economic growth...

A case of getting `too much of what you wished for...`

I`ve heard about these emails for a few years now.... But... besides them not being on a government server...
Has there been any email (s).... that has caused national damage ??

I`d like to see a smokingGun... or ... just go onto another topic cause this is getting old... very old.

  • Yup... We`re going to get a gov shut down....

People are going to blame the GOP....

Tea Party pols are going to blame Obama and the Dems....

Moderate REpubs and the GOP leaders are going to blame the Tea Party....

GOP is going to lose the WH again....

And this cycle of stupidity will continue for another 3 to 5 Presidential cycles .... meaning 12 to 20 yrs !!!

The GOP will either implode.... or the Tea Party sector will break away....

Sure would be nice if you had some proof of what you claim.... Cause I follow politics pretty closely and never saw that - at all.

In fact the only thing I have seen in the last decade was when Bush Jr took N Korea off the terrorist list ---because they thought they were close to a deal with them and needed a hook to get the Kim regime to sign up... Didn`t work.. Which is why Obama wants the N Koreans back on that list.

Like Ross Perot ... Trump states that the trade agreements we have signed have caused a lost of jobs here in the USA... NAFTA especially hurt us in his eyes as CEO`s can move over the border -dumping American workers for cheap Mexican workers- that our government has to than supply with unemployment, welfare, etc... and which undermines the buying power of the consumer base of our economy.... since the millions who have lost jobs have a tough time finding similar paying jobs since manufacturing is moving offshore or to Mexico...

No penalty for US companies leaving, and no tariffs when they sell the same product they made here back to us....

*** Think about it !!!! Back in the 1980`s the talk among the states was that companies were moving to the southern states for lack of labor laws and that northern states were losing jobs and taxes, which undermined what they could supply regarding services to their people...

We all laughed at that and said to bad--- BUT--- that money (taxes, etc) stayed within the bounderies of the USA and even though where it was coming from shifted from the north to the south it was still money that stayed and benefited Americans....

But since NAfTA --- everything shifted in that jobs no longer shifted from north to south or even from south to west --- but now shifted from all over the USA (and even servicing jobs) to be based out of Mexico --- meaning that we have lost not only worker`s incomes and their taxes, but have undermined the services that all government entities supply from the local towns up to the State level --and on an even broader level the national government...

Add to that that the treat of moving their jobs to mexico should workers demand more money --- has kept the raise in workers salaries stagnant for decades -- which is why we see such a huge disparity between managment salaries and their workers... Look at the multiplying effect of that wage stagnation over decades - results in 2008 subprime crash.

Regarding Trump wanting a single payer healthcare --- 2 weeks ago when asked during a news conference about what he thought about Obamacare -- he stated that it was a mess and he would put in something better... He than stated that it didn`t go far enough which is why it was a mess (leaves 30 million uncovered - if it works perfectly !!!) and that the system they use in Scotland was the model he liked --- He owns golf coarses in Scotland so he knows first hand how their labor laws/ benefit laws operate--- which is a single payer government program... -- That is the opposite of what the GOP is pushing- which is the old status quo pre Obamacare that left 50 million Americans uncovered and a large number of hospitals close to bankruptcy...

As for NAFTA --- he`s said a number of times that Mexico is taking away US jobs, that it`s government is corrupt -- all of which is true.... and the same will be happening with the TPP that Obama is trying to pass..( look up ProPublica- `` NAFTA 20 years later `` to read about how the legal frame work passed in NAFTA ties the USA to non-US judicial tribunals to oversee lawsuits bought by Canadian/Mexican companies if they desire.... In fact this afternoon on the internet there`s a story how TransCanada`s Sr managment is looking at bringing a law suit under NAFTA against the USA if Obama doesn`t pass the Keystone Pipeline .... which would take it out of the US court system and out of American hands...

Bernie and Trump are actually targeting the same problems....

Both want single payer healthcare, both want higher taxes on the rich, both want stronger banking laws-(Trump said he`s a big supporter of ex Fed Reserve Head Paul Volcker- Volcker wants Glass STegal bought back and the big 5 banks broken up) , both Bernie and Trump are against NAFTA and the TPP - as being American job killers, etc, etc....

As for immigration --- Trump wants an increase in `legal` immigrants --- Even Bernie wants that.... the problem is what to do about the 12 million illegals that came in during the 2000 - 2006 time period under Bush Admin... Trump says send them back and have them go through the legal process to come back... Also Trump wants to complete the border fence... The truth is 1/3rd of the illegals returned to Mexico by 2010 due to lack of jobs in USA--- which means something that the Republicans will not like to hear --- And that is --- take away the enticement of jobs to illegals by cracking down on business owners who hire them here... Current laws overseeing business hiring illegals are a joke--- how many businesses have you heard about in the last 20 yrs that got busted for that !!!!

The problem with both groups that back Bernie and Trump is that they are polarized and have blinders on --and not able to see or understand what the other is saying ---- Combine those 2 groups and you have a powerhouse of a 3 rd party in the ;USA.... Something that the Repubs and Dems would be afraid of... and which their news media`s that support them will never let the public see or understand how closely aligned those 2 are...

Iraqi government refused to extend legal protection to US troops after that Bush Admin approved cut off date...

Which would have put any soldier, pilot, contractor after that at the mercy of Iraqi law -without US protection... ---- Only an Idiot President would leave US forces in a country under that situation ... Which is why Obama finally threw in the towel and pull US troops out...

And guess what --- the current Iraqi PM and their legislature has as of last week found the prior PM - al Malaki --- at fault for the spread of ISIS in Mosul .. and has recommended that he and his admin be bought before the courts...

The ONLY way any American President (no matter Repub or Dem) could have kept troops in Iraqi after that cut off date -- would be if he intended to take over the country and appointed an interim dictatorship ( or however you would call a puppet government)...

--- What we are seeing now is a Republican re-write of Iraqi war history...just like we saw with Vietnam -- where they claimed we should have stayed longer and we could have won ... ( at what costs, for what reason etc) --(Vietnam fought China for 3 yrs after the USA pulled out -- so our Domino theory was wrong... cause it was a Civil war) -- and what is Iraq --- It`s a Civil/ Religious war among #$%$s and Sunni Muslims and who has power...

As to ISIS --- the leadership is made up indepth of Saddams ex-military leadership (Sunni)... While the Iraqi government is now dominated by the Shi ittes... And ... in the bigger picture of the MidEast --- the #$%$ countries of Iran, Syria, Lebanon now back the Iraqi Government in it`s fight with ISIS, which means the Iranians are supporting US efforts against ISIS.... which puts the US at odds with it`s oil allies the Saudis, Kuwaites, UAE, etc, .... who are against #$%$s in general on religious grounds, etc...

Which is a situation that Bush/Cheney bought about by opening the Pandora`s Box when they Shocked and Awed Saddam out of power.
