They hate the president for 2 reasons --- 1) - He`s a Democrat, which overrides all other considerations.. Cause these new age Repubs are mostly brainwashed chest beaters who like a losing football team fan base follow the party / team line no matter what the outcome... even when the facts are against them... Rah, rah, rah.... krap... The 2) reason is he`s black... which brings out the racist tendencies if down right stupidity of alot of people....

Add those two factors together and you got --- the Ted Nugents of the political world...

Companies have been passing off more and more of the rises in health care insurance over the years...to their employees .... So that`s is nothing new --- if they could they would ditch the plans... and that might be something that would be good for the country...

In 2004 Toyota turned down bids from S Carolina, GA, and AL for a Rav4 manufacturing plant proposal... instead deciding to build just across the river from Detriot in Ontario Canada .. They have since expanded the operation.... Their reasons for moving to Canada instead of the SE states --- 1) Canada had national health insurance so Toyota would save millions per year by not having to pay those benefits... and 2) they wanted to avoid the Honda problem where they lost money due to difficult start up because of low educated work force that needed extensive training --- the Canadians were fairly highly educated...

Also consider that Mexico has a national healthcare system for their citizens...

Which means that the USA is sandwiched between 2 economies that have national health benefits paid for by the government... which is a big incentive to move American manufacturing over our borders... and losing American jobs.

Interesting that you posted that --- cause that is exactly the court case before the Supreme Court right now --- a Dem runing in Ohio sued a pro-abortion org that put up a billboard that said he supported abortion because he voted for Obamacare... Except as the Dem pointed out -- Obamacare doesn`t pay for abortions and the laws say you can`t use Federal money to pay for it... (which was passed by the Repubs)... So the suit was on slandering the politician for their own gains.... However the pro-life groups stepped in and turned it around and presented the courts with saying that their Free Speech rights are effected if they can`t say what they want in a political campaign...

So the Supreme Court (conservatives) are taking on the case based on Free Speech --- Which means that if they back the pro-abortion lie under Free Speech --- that not only will the Roberts court have changed our elections by opening the doors to a flood of money --- but they will also have opened the doors to legally lie to the public in a political campaign....

Now that has got to be a moral problem that should keep all Americans up at night worrying about.

GeoChemist and ex Board of Science Advisor a number of Presidents -- James Powell, published his updated study on --HOW MANY PEER REVIEWED CLIMATE SCIENCE PAPERS WERE PRO /AND ANTI HUMAN CAUSED CLIMATE CHANGE.. over a 21 yr period --- from around the world... up to 2012...

Of 13,950 articles above --- just 24 were `Anti-human` caused climate change...

Updated that study for the 2012- Dec 2013 period and ---- 0f 9,137 authors of peer reviewed articles --- JUST `` 1 `` .... a russian scientist pubished an `anti-human` caused climate change article....

And YET.... NEARLY EVERY REPBLICAN POLITICIAN CLAIMS IT`S A HUGE CONSPIRACY AND ISN`T TRUE --- Most saying `...the science is unsettled on it`.....

13,950 to 24 and 9,137 to 1.... Yea... those Repubs would rather back the 25 instead....

Google James Powell, GeoChemist... and check it out yourself....

What this really shows is the danger to democracy when you have the Supreme Court make decisions like `--corpoprations are people` / Citizens United... and `...the rich have more vote power `/ McCutcheon....

You see it in this situation , you see it in our elections now via Newt Gingrich`s Casino Mogul single handedly nearly buying Newts way into the WH....

U.S. Postal Service loss hits $1.9 billion

Doesn`t help at all that the Repub Congress under Bush made the PS pay for the next 75 yrs of benefits for it`s workers.... That means if my grandson or granddaughter who aren`t born yet want to work for the PS.. the Repubs already made the PS prepay their benefits...

Can you name any other business or government organization that has been forced to do this ??? Of coarse not.... cause it`s #$%$ingRidiculous.... and no business would ever do that...

    ..........................
    Here`s a copy about it from 2006:

The Republican sabotage of the U.S. Postal Service

Columnist Jim Hightower takes on the Republican sabotage of the U.S. Postal Service:

``In 2006, the Bush White House and Congress whacked the post office with the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act — an incredible piece of ugliness requiring the agency to PRE-PAY the health care benefits not only of current employees, but also of all employees who'll retire during the next 75 years. Yes, that includes employees who're not yet born.

No other agency and no corporation has to do this. Worse, this ridiculous law demands that USPS fully fund this seven-decade burden by 2016. Imagine the shrieks of outrage if Congress tried to slap FedEx or other private firms with such an onerous requirement

    ..........................................

So what`s the real reason behind this ---- 1) Repubs want to privatize the POST Office, Dutch did it to theirs back in the 1980`s and Repubs see big money in it -- But so far what has been `privatized` by the Repubs from our government -- Our Jails for one--- and now cities are busting their citizens for even minor offenses to fill the contracts they have with for profit jails with companies like Correction Corp of America and the GEO Group, etc... they have to keep those jails filled to a certain percent to guarantee those corporations a guaranteed profit.. and 2) bust the PS union...

I lived in CA for awhile and have family there.... I`m glad that agency is doing a good job.... if you ever drive on Interstate5 ---- you`d kiss their butts for cutting the pollution....

And lets face it --- since the 1960`s the smog has cleaned up tremendously from the cars and trucks and buses.... and none of the auto firms have ever on their own made environmentally beneficial changes to their design plans without being forced to....

    Just a fact of life.

  • kcf_07757 kcf_07757 May 9, 2014 10:28 PM Flag

Good question.... and how about this one.... Let`s see if any conservative can answer this...

between 2000 and 2007 there were 18 million illegals that entered this country...to take jobs across the country. This was under the Republican Administration. Also --- from 2002 onward --- we were being warned via the homeland light system and the media that the country was under attack by the terrorists ....

So my question is --- why would a Republican Admin let in 18 mil in the back door while trying to shut the front door from the terrorists.... ----- I can`t tell some middle east muslim from a Mexican or some S. American when they dress the same --- and I bet neither can 99% of the rest of us....

So please tell me all you Republicans --- what was the reason behind that.... cause I can`t seem to find anyone who can explain it...

  • kcf_07757 kcf_07757 May 9, 2014 10:31 PM Flag

And I realize no one is going to be able to give a logical answer to it that makes sense in `Republicans world .... So all I ask is that you give it some deep thought .... Real Deep ... cause it goes to the heart of the problem with this country...

  • how much influence would the utilities have on prices for solar if they can really charge for use of lines, etc..

  • kcf_07757 kcf_07757 May 12, 2014 3:34 PM Flag

I got 3 negative votes on that post ---- How the heck can Any American not be worried about that ????

I`ve got to ask if those 3 voters even appreciate how lucky they are to be in a country that to date has given them the freedom they enjoy... and how this stuff could change that...

  • Consider that the USA is sandwiched between CAnada and Mexico --- Both of those countries has national healthcare for their citizens --- which means any company that moves there doesn`t have to pay out millions for healthcare benefits --- which is one of the prime reasons the business sector and the politicians are telling us that they are outsourcing American jobs and manufacturing... -- Labor expense.... and constantly upward spiraling healthcare is a major part of our labor expense...

The move to Mexico is obvious --- you can hire a mechanical engineer there for less than half what they get here.... But the move to CAnada is interesting ....

in 2005 Toyota opened a Rav 4 plant in Ontario (they have since expanded it) --- in 2004 they annoucned that after looking at the Carolina states, Georgia and AL... that they decided instead to move over the northern border to Ontario just above the Detroit area... the reasons they gave for that decision were 2.... 1) Canada had national healthcare and it would save the company millions per year in benefit costs..and 2) the work force in Canada were more highly educated --- which would require less training and a quicker start up time... Something that Honda had not anticpated when they opened in the SE section of the USA, something that had driven up Honda`s costs...

Doesn`t seem like anyone is looking at the bigger picture on this topic if we are concerned about keeping jobs here in this country...

  • kcf_07757 kcf_07757 May 13, 2014 10:35 PM Flag

That ice sheet is made up of a few different sections.... yes a part is breaking and it is huge... and yes there is a part that has shown some added thickness-- but that is believed to be due to warmer weather helping to create more snow over the area adding to the sheet-- something that has also been predicted by the models...

  • Do we all remember Bush`s warning lights after 9/11 ???

Do we all remember seeing all the illegals standing on street corners, or at Home Depot parking lots, or at the local convience store parking lots looking for work .... Not unusual to see 10 to 15 at a time in some spots...

Has any Republicans asked themselves who in their right mind would let in 18 million illegals at the same time we are trying to keep bad guys from attacking us like they did on 9/11 ...

Any one have a good answer for that ????? Any Tea Party people have an answer to that ??? Any Bushies have an answer ??? Any Ted Cruz people, Any Sarah Palin people,,, Any Fox watchers ... Any Ted Nugent or Merle Haggart chest beaters out there know the answer ??.... How the Texans -- the Rick Perry backers, the Gomer backers.... Or the preppers ??/

Some one has got to have an idea that makes sense...
