Stocks, as you know, are always responding to any kind of news. Always in flux, like the ocean, you have ups and downs. That is the nature of the beast. The best advice is to get rid of the fear and jubilation, and the greed. When treating the AGNC stock as a farm that continuously produces eggs (dividends), which hatch into more chickens (money producing stocks), I am able to get the greed/fear minimized. I retain all my chickens---they are still chickens as their value go up or down. I am so glad when the market goes down like this, I can buy cheap chickens (cheep-cheep), sorry--lol. My take is this, my AGNC, NLY, AI, TWO, and MTGE provide enough dividends to make this farm lots of money. If ever there comes a time to sell some stock, I can choose to sell at a price above what I paid. I well not freak out when the stocks loose 10-15%, knowing sometime, all stocks seem to bounce back and become more valuable. We must give TIME a chance to do its THING.
As always, I am LONG, and strong.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
This is another sale price. I had to buy another stock today for the ROTH, but dang, I wish I could buy at least 400-5-- more shares of AGNC today. It is going to go up, and I and strong and long.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Yes, I belive in MTGE, and this is a great SALE price. I did buy today with the last of the money I can for this year into my ROTH. I am long and I am very glad to buy today, because it is low for now, and I love the $3.60 dividends.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I say: BUY, BUY, BUY. Only an idiot sells on FEAR. This is a sale! A buying opportunity, a cheap price---duh. I am so long on AGNC, my great grand kids may make money on this.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
This is a sale price. I just bought in, and wish I had more money to buy more. I believe this to be a temporary down turn, and the price will go up long before ex-div day.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Cramer is not that accurate, and I do not listen to his advice. But I sure do like what TWO has given me in the last 2 dividends, so I am going to stay put at least to see what the next dividend is. I am hoping it goes up, but then 10%+ isn't too shaby if it doesn't.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I agree. And let me say, in my opinion, most of these guys the up grade and down grade are paid for their opinion. But from what I have seen, they have the accuracy of a weather man, which is not very good. So really, I have no use for them. I am in for the long haul, and wish I had more $$$$ to buy more. I love the Dividends.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I love that I will get 91 shares on my 1860 TWO. But I will sell and buy more MTGE for my folder. Not enough to do anything with (the 91 shares), and like you said, "no track record".
Sentiment: Sell
Are there any invertors here that have an opinion about this fairly new stock? Is tis a hold, buy, or is it a sell? I am trying to get some kind of handle of what to do with the new shares coming my way, I am investigating, but do you have any insite of a future keeping the stock?
Thanks
Sentiment: Sell
I like both AGNC AND NLY. But Cramer, I don't like listening to him. Long on both.
Sentiment: Buy
You buy on 3/17, ex-div is 3/18. Record date is 3/20, you can sell on 3/20. But as pointed out to you already, you will see AGNC drop at least by $1.25 the divy, on the very next morning, 3/19. Some times it takes a week or longer to get back up to pre-dividend price. So you will not be able to sell at the price on 3/18, and get the divy, or if you do, you will sell at a lower price. Best senerio, buy AGNC and hold for a long time. You can not beat the annual dividend of 15.4%.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Mike, I don't see "fear" mixed in with investing. I know it is common but I have done my home work. AGNC has performed very well for me, it is one of my "chickens" that lay golden eggs---or dividends four times a year. I can not find and investment that matches the type of return I am getting in AGNC and TWO. For me, these are machimes, and until something happens, I am long, and holding and trying to buy more with the dividends. You mention a CD, buy that is NO investment, nor is the banks "HIGH yielding" savings, now those are losers.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I'm not going to look into the past as you are. That was last year, and this is now. A twenty percent drop is a bad omen.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
Something is wrong with the company, and I am going to unload my shares. Thirty two cents is a 20% drop, and is reflected by the down grading in February. Sorry, I am selling.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
According to the company web site, $.55 a share was announced, I can't comfirm ex-date or pay date yet.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I buy and buy, and reinvest AGNC. I am very, very long on this wonderful stock.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Today, you can buy it back for the schumk price of $25.90.
