Short interest down - 4,105,088 share

Much covering since the drop below 30 cents. Got in Friday @ 28 cents. Been here before, but never at prices this low. I think the company did a lousy job selling such a small amount of shares that drove the price down over 30%.
But, it did create an opportunity for buyers like me below 30 cents. Has built a nice base over the lst 30 days.

Added shares @ 2.22. My breakeven is now $2.86. Will give it a few quarters and see how the revenues and margins develop.

ACAD's April 15th call and put options...

Should also note........some volume in the $35 call. Traded 121 contracts with a 40 cent close. Someone thinks we'll get up there if we get a favorable opinion.

    Kel

  • March options expire to early to be involved with the AdComm date....

    Call strike.....closing price......volume.....Friday info.

    20.................$4.10.................114
    21...................3.60....................2
    22...................3.30....................7
    23...................2.90....................1
    24...................2.65....................16
    25...................2.30....................44

    Put strike......closing price.......volume

    20..............$4.85..................7
    19................4.00..................7
    18..................3.26................5
    17.................2.87................1
    16.................2.50................9

**some volume heavier than any of these puts in the $12-14 strikes

Thoughts........Not much happening yet. Will likely ratchet up starting next week. Most volume is $4-5 out of the money in both puts and calls. At and near the money premiums very high.
Interesting volume of 114 in the $20 call, but almost no action in the $20 put (7 volume).

    Just my thoughts...........Yours?

    Wounded Warrior Project execs fired

Why isn't the Vet's Admin. helping these wounded warriors? Too many govt. $$ going for food stamps, expanded SS disability, Obama phones, etc. All this has greatly expanded over the last 8 years. Not enough left
to help those that have sacrificed for our country?

    **2015 book for 1040 taxes....page 101......Federal govt Outlays for 2014....by percentage

    #$%$ Medicare and other Retirement.......42%
    *Social programs.................22%
*National defense, Veterans, and foreign affairs........22%
    *Others......13%

So, the Veterans must go begging for help while equal amounts are spent on "social programs".......same percentage as Defense, Veterans, etc. What a joke our nation has become.

    Liabilities subject to Compromise..??

It might not get carried forward in the re-org. Not sure, but those losses don't have quite the value people assign to them. Otherwise, wouldn't it be an easy tax avoidance game for huge companies to just buy (for almost nothing) bankrupt companies just to get the tax looses.
Same would work in the biotech business. Many small companies with hundreds of million (or 1 billion+) of $$ losses just sitting on their balance sheets.
Those accumulated losses also have expiration dates. Not good forever.

Totally out of BDCs. Held and traded many (TICC too) over the last 3-4 years. Handwriting has been on the wall for several months. BDCs are a failed business model. Can maybe trade them here and there, but surely not a 'buy and hold' type investment. Never were.

Sold ACAD @ 21.83. Have since bought it back at an average of 19.97 including some today @ 19.29.

Did OK with energy trades in SWN, MRO, and MEMP. Profits in all 3 but I sold too soon. Left some $$ behind for Aunt Nell:).....

    Much cash now .....about 65%.

Much politics being played with oil prices now. EIA and OPEC trying to talk oil up, but the massive oversupply still has to be dealt with......along with the ease of ratcheting production right back up if oil prices rise. Just not that simple to solve this problem IMO.

No current energy holdings of any kind............Kel

Perhaps I have a different viewpoint due to my more recent arrival here (last fall). I don't have all the bad history that you likely have with CGIX. Anyway Tom, good luck and keep the door open here just in case they do start performing.

  • Not sure why unless these holders are more backward looking than forward. Things look strong going forward, at least in my opinion. Perhaps reason to be disappointed with Q 4 revenues. That's in the past IMHO and I'll stick here to participate in the growth ahead.

Caught most of the CC, missed a little of the beginning. Sounds like RG is almost fully integrated with around 30% of headcount reduced. Margin improvement should progress throughout the year too. Gradually increasing revenues throughout this year spurred by new products that will serve biotech firms doing FDA trials. Expect cash flow breakeven by Q 1 - 2017, possibly sooner. Several (about 5) questions asked with one guy rather critical about the past. Didn't seem like he listened to the comments about going forward.

They were very optimistic, now they need to execute.

  • ........Revs in @ $5.5 mil. Analyst estimates were for $7 mil with 2 estimates, one each at 6.5 mil and 7.5 mil. Don't care about this at all as all is "on the come" in 2016 it appears..

........Loss was about $5.5 million....inline with estimates......tried to figure out cash used as cash position fell very little, perhaps $.5 million. Accounts payable up about $3 million vs prior 1/4. Would guess that cash burn was in the $3.5 - 4.5 million area as there was possibly $.7 mil of stock based compensation and about $.4 mil of depreciation. Still getting a grip on that, but cash burn seems a little better than expected.

**Cash position on Dec. 31 was about $19.7 million.....very healthy.
**Debt about $6.0 million total.....small amount current plus a bank note.
    Shares out.....13.7 million approx.

CC should be interesting with the 2016 outlook. Wonder if they'll toss out any actual number estimates.

  • Dec. 31, 2015 balance sheet...new category. Liabilities subject to compromise....$984,388,000.
Current portion of long term debt.......$324,900,000.

    Good luck

Every BDC investor should read TICC's report. The CLO bomb is blowing up. Those things must be loaded with garbage. CLO yields well above other parts of the portfolio........if the interest is paid of course.

I lost track of all the class action suits I'm involved with. Waiting for payment (for several years) from some and others just went into the circular file. All equities, no bonds, except a Citigroup preferred that I actually got some $$ from.

Listened to the whole Trump segment on CNBC. He makes some very good points on trade and the fallacy of "fair trade." Just like income inequality I guess......what's "fair" to one person (or country) may be very unfair to someone else on the spectrum.
