Been scouting around all day for something to buy. FSC now trading at a 24.5% discount to its $9.18 NAV. Annual div is .72 and the average current year EPS estimate is for 82 cents. Might be some room there for a div raise to 7 cents, from the current 6 cents. Current yield is 10.38% on a 6.93 price.
Not far from its 52 week low of 6.80. Worth a look anyway.
NOG (100% Bakken) also got about $36 per barrel for oil before hedging affects. Bakken discount must be huge. They only "averaged" $36 and oil never got near that level and had other ups and downs.
She's still holding it. Has 900 shares with an average cost of about $35.25. Will never sell at a loss. Would rather ride a stock to ZERO. She's a fool. Have to be able to admit that you're wrong sometime or stay out of individual stocks. Just me opinion.
Hi Pa.........looking at this turd again. Market cap under $100 mil and $1 bil plus of debt......makes this a call option on oil / natgas prices. Likely to survive unless oil-ng prices crumble again. Maybe they'll follow the example of some other marginal players (like SD, HK, EOX) and do some heavy dilution.
Other companies doing it makes it easier to use it as an excuse. Just blame energy prices,,,,not Terry for being too stupid not to hedge.
Bought last Thursday @ 32.91. Took a small loss. Was starting to turn into a LT investment (for what it is) and didn't intend that. Took my small lumps and moving on.
Similar to small biotechs.....the business they're in is 'staying in business.'
That aside, I'm looking into EOX again. Haven't been here in a few months. Had some positive trades in the .90 - 1.20 area then. Whole different company now a mere 3 months later.
Last declared on Feb. 17th after the close. Their NAV closed at 7.75 on Feb. 17, closed at 7.90 yesterday, and has remained in the 7.00 - 8.00 range for the last 3 months. Looks like we can probably expect it to remain at 7 cents.
Kel......holding some GGN
Put the egg back into the shell? I think they created exactly what they wanted. There's times it will work better, and other times when it won't work so well. Looks like FSAM is in that part of the cycle.
Kel.......holding a little FSFR, none of FSC or FSAM
Did buy some CHK this morning @ 14.68. Now recovering nicely into the close in spite of GS downgrade and constant negativity from Jim Cramer and THE STREET.
....and I'll continue to hold. Good pipeline news or a buyout. Only a matter of time. At $150 their market cap is still under $5 billion. Pocket link for big Bio or Pharma.
Still holding my SPXU position with an approx 50 cent per share unrealized loss. Will hold into Tuesday.
Greece has several maturities coming due in the next few months. Bob Brinker talked about it quite a bit on yesterday's radio show.
Pa.......back into CHK @ 14.675. GS downgraded them, CVX, and BP today.........Kel
