Love this stock's dividend and cap gain but I think $19 is highly unlikely in the foreseeable future. I suppose in 2 years or so it is possible if they keep increasing the dividend by 5-10%/yr. One thing is certain, I'm not selling.

Good to see some optimism, which I do not quite share. I think we will likely see the $.17 dividend as you say but I don't see much if any increase for at least a year unless there is a heckuva surprise on earnings. I would be very happy to see EPS of $.19. Just have been disappointed for too many quarters in a row at this point. GLL

Much as I'd prefer dividend increase along with the share price appreciation it is hard not to be impressed with the latter lately.

I think it was a good deal. 252 units for $72 million is about $147K/unit. Avg rent is about $1500 that gives $9.3 million/yr in rents. Plus likely (not definite) real estate price appreciation over 10 years. This is their niche and I'm sure they have done a far more sophisticated analysis than my back of an envelope calculations. How much of a drop from today's $19.07 high would be needed to define a third "top"?

Well I guess if it drops back down over the next few days we will have an "official" triple top which is supposedly a bearish reversal. For me the bottom line is can they maintain and increase the dividends and it seems that they are on track to do so. Time will tell. GLL

Further reading reveals the increase dividend i predicated on $70 oil which now seems highly unlikely. Hmm, not as secure s I first thought. Quote below:
    Ken

    2015 Outlook

"On Dec. 3, 2014, KMI issued its preliminary financial projections for 2015 and said it expected to declare dividends of $2.00 per share, an approximately 16 percent increase over the 2014 budgeted dividend of $1.72 per share, and generate additional cash of over $500 million in excess of its dividend. These expectations assumed an average WTI crude oil price of approximately $70 per barrel and a Henry Hub natural gas price of $3.80 per MMBtu in 2015. Since that time the company finalized its 2015 budget with approximately $650 million of excess coverage."

I'm happy. Increasing the payout from $1.76 to $2.00 and more than enough CAD to do it. Heck I believe that is a 13% increase. Plus a commitment reiterated to increase payout by 10%/yr through 2020, that should drive shares past $50. Of course talk is cheap but I believe they can do it. GLL

Don't be ridiculous. first off Wall street crooks, assuming they are numerous run the world and will NEVER be jailed. Fined at most. Secondly the price is plummeting not because of Wall Street Crooks but because many folks are panicking and the price of oil and natural gas is falling. It is painful to watch but I am just spending my distributions on booze and not wasting any energy worrying about it. This was a risky high yield investment from the beginning and now we all have to accept that our gamble hasn't paid off .....yet. Those lucky enough to have dry powder can scoop up some great buys. Exactly right guppie,
We are just fleas on the elephant's back. Hamo is in business to get very rich and he's doing a heckuva good job. His only concern about us retail investors is that we don't bail en masse and drive down the share price thus decreasing the value of his holdings. I am not happy about Tylis's recent Friday night sale or the massive recent stock give away but OTOH both stocks are among my best performers and I anticipate they will out perform my portfolio in the long run so I will just suck it up and spend my dividends. Cramer says lots of things, some ridiculous some wise. The bottom line is nobody knows until Wednesday's earnings come out. If good shares jump if bad they drop. I am hoping for a price drop as I want to get some shares for one of my kid's IRA but not at the expense of poor earnings. A quandary, no? GLL

I feel your pain. Serious whiplash today. I have to keep repeating;" this is a long term investment, this is a long term investment": At least I'm getting $800/month in dividends for the time being. If that gets cut I'll begin to whine otherwise, life goes on. That's why god gave us alcohol! GLL

    Cramer says $14 oil

    by goskiing99 Jan 7, 2015 6:02 PM
    kenpalley2000 kenpalley2000 Jan 14, 2015 11:09 AM Flag

I predict that next week they will be PAYING you to take their oil. However seriously the problem is that there is more oil around than can be consumed and yet many countries and companies cannot afford or are unwilling to stop pumping more and more. Remember that old rule that says the first thing to do when you find yourself in a hole is to stop digging, well not enough producers seem willing yet to stop pumping. I have read that the number of drill rigs that are active is finally starting to fall and according T. Bone Pickens ( a smart experienced oil man) that is what will indicate a bottom in oil prices. Rig count must drop for oil prices to bottom. I tried to catch a falling knife and got burned (cut?) yesterday when I bought another 3000 shares at 10.15, should have waited one more day but at current prices LNCO is, IMHO, a great long term buy.
