    August dividend 2.752 cents

    Zawodniak,
I agree. I keep reinvesting until I turn 70.5 and RMD rules kick in. My hope is that my shares will keep growing and some time in the next year or two the dividend will get back up to $.03 at which point I will get a nice steady monthly income. The actual NAV doesn't matter that much to me in the long run although frankly the lower it is now the more shares I keep accumulating cheaply. As interest rates go up, as they surely must some day, the NAV will drop but the dividends will start to rise. That's what I'm hoping for and counting on. Wish me luck.

KMI is closely tied to the Iran deal.

How about no good reason at all, just "a random walk in the park" so to speak. If you are into timing the market and sold KMI when it was up and bought it back when it was low (like now) good on ya! However for many of us this is basically an annuity and as long as the dividend is secure we just let the money roll in. I believe we will see a steadily increasing dividend over the next five years as the company is suggesting so for now I just keep an eye on the stock and do not trade it. Each to their own. GLL

  • Doesn't seem like a mere 2 million dollar deal would have such an impact but maybe it is seen a s a sign of life in this almost moribund company. let us hope so. However as seedsbill and others have pointed out ultimately only 2 things matter: A minimum dividend announcement in 2-3 weeks of $.64 and improved earnings and cash flow. GLL

  • Stock market in panic mode and folks are being stampeded into selling a very secure dividend. Old story. APTS remains a steal at anything under $10 IMHO. GLL

    Dividend $0.02752 08/31/2015 08/31/2015 09/01/2015 $5.82

Not too bad. About average. With the greatly reduced NAV that means we get even more shares. Long term this will be good. GLL

    ski,
You and I are 90% of this board and I assume YOU have read it. To be honest I only recently really spent much time on the company website but had bought my first shares awhile back when they dipped into the mid 7s. Sure wish I had bought a heck of a lot more then. As long as the economy remains troubled for young people rentals will be strong. I can see the dividend at $1/yr in 2-3 years. GLL

I hope you are right. I do understand the company and I am concerned, as are many investors, with the huge amount of debt. i am glad in a way that they have widely suspended the dividend and are buying back at a good prices a lot of their debt but if oil prices do not snap back up by the time their current hedges expire then they face serious long term problems. that's why it is trading at less than 10% of its all time high! The market is not infallible but it is not completely stupid. I hope you are right and I am wrong . GLL

What's the dif. At current price of $3.00 LNCO as battered as it is is a steal. We will still get one more divvie I believe so you are actually only paying around $2.90. oil is way up today. I just got another 5000 at $2.99. A gamble I know but I can afford $15K. GLL

As I have said I am not about to sell and remain guardedly optimistic that we are near the bottom. However the shares are not up from where I bought some of them although some of my shares from May '09 bought at $3.30 are long since paid off by dividends. Other shares bought in the $5 and $6 dollar range are even or below water even factoring in the dividends. All in all the only thing that really matters to me is the dividend. if they keep paying I will keep holding. GLL

Yes that is my prediction FWIW. Keep in mind that I am hoping for and do not consider impossible a dividend post split in the $.64- $.70 range. However I believe a lowering of the dividend will cause a big drop in share price, hardly a radical notion. GLL

Correction last dividend was $0.16 thus $0.64 in new stock. Thus we need at least a $.64 dividend to prevent share price from going to $10 post split. GLL

I am not planning to sell, however I do not believe the new share price, which as of Tuesday morning will be in the $12-$13 range, will remain over $12 for very long. I hope it does not sink to below $10. Everything depends on the first dividend after the split. If the company is smart, which they do not appear to be, or even financially solid, which they also do not appear to be, then they will increase the dividend in effect by making it $.68 which is the equivalent of raising the current $0.15 to $0.17. I expect the next dividend to be $.60 but fear it could be less. Hate to be so pessimistic but we have not had good news from RSO in ages. GLL

I will jump in on the side of those who are leery of the TMP. It is probably too late for KMI to withdraw but I sure wish they would. It is an ecological disaster waiting to happen and it is far from certain how profitable it might prove to be. GLL

BTW. AS bummed as I am about the suspension of the divvie I would be even more bummed if the company spent its way into bankruptcy. I remain guardedly optimistic that over the next 5 years this will be well worth having held on to. I DO NOT envision ever seeing $30+/share or at least not over the next 5 years or so. No one can see beyond five years into the future, least of all me. If alternate forms of energy continue to grow over the next five years as fast as they have grow over the past five years then the demand for fossil fuels of every type will decrease. GLL
