clcellve, you're new to this Yahoo Msg Bd on MU. How many shares of MU do you own and how long have you held them? How long have you been watching and researching MU? Are you/do you ever Short or Options trade MU?

Are you aware MU won't be seriously in production on the 3D until mid 2016 at least? I may have interpreted this wrong but go back and read the 3Q Conf Call questions at the end where it talks schedule on 3d for both Singapore and the INTC arrangement. See what you make of the schedule for 3D.

PS: I like your faith in the MU stock and MU Mgmt but they did mislead at a minimum at 2Q and most of the inv comm did not expect this much of a surprise. Why else has there been so much news on MU after the 3Q ER? It's shaken the whole tech sector (temporarily)...

I made plenty off MU in 2013 playing it long too. Congrads on lucking out on your short afterwards. However, you ignored the "oligopoly" in doing so and in my opinion it's all just a matter of timing. I'll just stay Long thankyou. Your short ride is over now. Now whadya gonna do?

  • kg2931 kg2931 Jun 27, 2015 5:31 PM Flag

Not "GLTY". MU mislead us 2Q.

What crystal ball fail safe info sources do you have better than the subject knowledgable EE's and semi expert writers on SA? Yes, the detail is overwhelming at times but better source on semis/MU than anything else I know of.

Well, I walked into that one, ha! Guess I figured most on this thread would have at least given me a little more credit for paying more attention to SA MU writers and actual news articles this past year than the messengers on this Yahoo Msg Bd.

If you read my messages from yesterday, my issue is not why did MU go down? And nothing I've posted for weeks indicates that either. Based on well known issues put out by the Co everyone knew this would be a lackluster 3Q. But the overwhelming majority going into this did not predict this Qtr AND Guidance being worst than the story given us.

It's funny now how Cheetah thinks he's redeemed himself and gained his (following) back, when only one week ago messengers here were rooting for him to leave and play someplace else like his beloved (better stocks) SWKS, AMBA, QRVO, etc... The question/issue on cheetah hasn't changed one bit, still remains - WHY ARE YOU HERE Cheetah?

I know why I've been here, because I own the stock Long, read enough to feel comfortable remaining and attempt to share that confidence and support to fellow Longs. The key word of course - Long - which Cheetah is NOT, he doesn't even own the stock Long, Short or Options.

What I do from here with my MU shares will be my business. It's time to eliminate Yahoo Msg Bds from my daily schedule. Learned that long ago but fell into bad habits (again, it's addicting isn't it). Good luck to all true fellow MU Longs (now captives). It's not time to take a loss. No reason. Summer is here, take a breath, take a break, have fun in the sun. In the Fall going into EOYr start watching the actual MU news articles, SEC filings, facts & data and get ready for a better Yr2016. It's going to be a while, if you can wait, which fortunately I can.

What about the "oligopoly"???????? (Everyone knows semis have been cyclical in the past)

  • kg2931 kg2931 Jun 26, 2015 3:37 PM Flag

Hate to give credit when none is due but. the real question/issue is where has this cheetah been getting his/her information? What happened to MU today fooled the majority of the investment community. I've just finished reading all of the SA articles since the ER. One thing's clear, no one saw this much trouble coming. One particular quite knowledgeable SA author has even accused MU of lying on their last 2Q ER Call. Some predict Class Actions. Most concur MU mislead investors at very least. So, I suppose this cheetah will come back to this and say, 'yeah, that's why you stay away from MU!, Shoulda/coulda bought the alternative sexier "new internet of things" stocks like SWKS, QRVO, AMBA, bla bla, bla....'.

But the real question/issue is not cheetah told us so... It's how did this cheetah retail momentum trader know more than the majority of the investment community? How did cheetah know MU mislead us at 2Q? How/where's the info/confidence coming from?

Both cdrjo and cheetah make valid points, good advice but it depends on your time horizon. I've held MU for over a year at $24.92. Cheetah and most would say I missed my opportunity and I concur but hindsight is always 20/20. The reason I won't sell now of course is because I do not see it going down much further (if it does) and there's way more up side for those prepared to hold into early 2016, possibly shortly after 4Q (September). I'm sure you've been reading all the SA writers on MU but if you haven't, this is basically what they've been telling us. The story on MU doesn't start to play out until 4Q. What happens after this coming Friday ER totally depends on guidance. MU does have a poor track record satisfying investors on Qtrly ERs but on the other hand they never cheer lead the stock either. I seriously doubt there's anything too negative on the guidance front and I think MU will meet or slightly exceed this Qtrs numbers again.

Come on VG! Now $4.95 and climbing. Nice recent upgrade too! Will we make it to $5.41 and by when?

  • kg2931 kg2931 Jun 19, 2015 3:31 PM Flag

And what is your source now ahead of the ER telling us "lowering margins and the forward guidance"? Guidance is an unknown at this point. Based on all info to date, guidance is expected to be good - better than last Qtr 2Q. That's as far as we can expect/hope for at this point. So, yes, this is a 180 degrees contrary opinion to that of your Topic opinion...

  • I've been burned before doing this but I'm really tempted folks! Is it time to double down? Will prices remain this low and if so, how much longer? No crystal ball. Next Thursday will be a nail biting event for many...

This is good news for VG. I wonder how long this new "access to numbers" will translate into higher revenue and share price growth for VG?

Thx jasiop. I wish there was a consistent source other than waiting for the qtrly conf calls to watch this 75% / 25% ratio.

    Jasiop, two questions:

    1) what's your ref / what are you using for the "residential declining business which consist of 80% of revenues"? I'd like to have something to track this over time (other than the previous Qtr's ER Conf).
    2) The PE for VG is currently 45.73, not. What did you mean by your, "and such us doesn't deserve high P/E"? Is this a typo? Did you mean doesn't deserve a LOW PE?

If the Fed annoucement today indicates no interest rate rise until EOYr, or even Sept, then the market should get a little wind in it's sails - at least for a while...

Why would the MU execs be selling during this past 6 mos drop in sp? Can you expand/describe what you've seen indicating the rate of MU execs selling? kg
