Are we carrying substantial NOLs on the books?
Congrats on WMIH. I also took a position a while back but very small (1000 shares). I never expected it to go up as much as it has. I'm looking forward to a smiliar performance from Syncora if they begin writing new business. Hope springs eternal.
Not much change. The third quarter ended September 30th. Most of the improvements took place after that. Next quarter should be an improvement with the Jeffco settlement.
I know I need to be patient and I am, but the silence from all sources is a tough pill to take each day. Still long with all of my shares and hoping for the best.
I wouldn't read too much into it at this stage of the game. 2017 is a long way off and management has kept Syncora alive when the easier path would have been Chapter 11. The removal of the "going concern" qualification is big.
"followed in later years by recoveries of these payments." This is the part that everyone is missing. It could have been stated better by the company.
Many thanks to GJcouple2 for pointing out what the Syncora PR said so poorly.
Sill, the day is young.
Probably the $3.82 buyer thought the price was going to spike to around $5.00 where he would have dumped for a quick $20,000 one day profit. On the other hand, who knows what he was thinking. In any even, he will have his chance to sell for a profit at a later date of that I am sure..
