I believe you know why AMZN trades at F P/E of 100, whereas AAPL trades at under 10!
AMZN's business model is completely different from that of AAPL's. If they were to go down that road, why should the market afford them such multiples! WOuld you?
I hope you have the time horizon and the money to afford the wait, which is required in a market where "growth, high multiple" companies are being punished severly.
Just ask yourself where AMZN stock price woul be If we had another similar week? In the 400s?
A Co growing at, so far, 20% with a multiple of 100 leaves no room for hiccups.
I wish you the best and hope you do not too attached to the stock
This sounds like Buffet's philosophy behind buying IBM at $190; $170; $155; $143; $130 and so on
The whole premise of AMZN resides on eCommerce destroying brick&mortar stores. But now they are opening up actual, physical stores!!!!!!! I guess next thing is to ge Marisa from Yahoo over!
It is not her, as most would do the same in her position.
There is a BOD which sees the incompetence but is even more incompetent to keep paying her for achieving negative results.
Anyhow, this goes up/down with BABA, so she might as well stay home and collect her fat pay checks.
This is a beloved, pumped stock by WS crooks - in the meantime brick & mortar must be popping champagne
I bet you anything that in less than 2 months it will be above $650 - it has done so time & again
Do not hate or love it, just trade it
Though I agree this is a valuation nightmare by any metrics, I suggest you give up shorting as this is a WS Crooks' stocks just like AMZN.
We are too small to do anything
Can you explain how this report warrants a spike in PPS when all indices are down huge and China just fell off the cliff_?
Thanks for your help
It is interesting though that GM had outstanding sales there and FOrd CEO said they are doing very well in CHina.
Time will tell
They can say what they like but at the end of the day is the WS which has kept/keeps pumping this stock on absurd valuation and the sheep follow.
Is that a surprise?
1. You play the cards you have been dealt, if you want to play the game. When the crooks turn their back on this and similar stocks, then go short.
2. Look at the headlines tonight from major financial media: most of them portray the numbers as positive!!!!!!!!!! What does that tell us?
3. It is a short, I agree, but not until he big guys say so, otherwise how can anyone in their right mind justify a $30B valuation for a Co that makes 50K or even 1M cars. Just look at AMZN, NFLX or some supposedly growth stocks with no moat that do not even show a 5% Rev growth YY.
SA has always been the perfect venue for anonymous shorts to short a stock, then write an article, grab their loot and disappear.
SEC should ban such venues and publications of this sort or at least investigate the matter, but I guess other than bashing banks, they are not worth your spit.
BTW, has anyone ever asked what happens to all the money they got from the banks?
In such a market, I would not blame sellers, but if there is geniune confidence in the Co, you should take advantage of the panic seeling.
If AAPL was even remotely interested, no one would know, least of all a third rate broker like FBR.
Just check out Apple's buyout history.
