Wolfson is on a pre-planned trading plan, get used to it. July 24, 2013 he also sold 150,000 shares. Then his schedule reverted back to 35,000 share sales the following months.
If you got a problem with insider sales that give no indication of insider sentiment at a given time (hence the very reason why Rule 10b5-1 trading plans were set up to begin with)... then go sell your shares and stop clogging the board with your panic attacks. Reserve that right for the short-sellers who sometimes pretend to go long.
Kind of hard to put a cost comparison out there when we dont even know what kind/quality of sugar they're using at moema. Left over molasses shouldn't be thrown out of the equation given everything I've read.... and its not like that's a next-generation cellulosic feedstock that is years away from happening.
goozle, I was actually going to defend you on the last post because I agree with what you said. However, I think you could also come down a bit softer on those who rather speculate (why crush possibilities?).
After all, UOP has partnered with SZYM before, so its not like its entirely outside of the realm of possibility for a partnership. Also using the process of HTL could be applicable to SZYM as well as it's stated in their patents as a means of possible extraction. Last of all, Honeywell did indirectly validate the algae biofuel industry (rather CNBC did) by acknowledging its future as a certainty.
But with that said, I do agree with you though that the Honeywell connection is rather meaningless talk and that the UAE thing likely has nothing to do with szym.... (Although there remains the vague & speculative regional proximity with the HelioBioSys mystery using their halophyte cyanobacteria in potential partnership with SZYM and SABIC). But hey, here's to speculation. Cheers.
HTL is interesting and don't think it excludes szym. They have it as a possible means of oil extraction as well in their patents/applications.
But I think HTL also restricts/limits the subsequent use of biomass which could be applied as meaningful byproducts/coproducts.
Considering the context of the breakout session you're referencing, presuming any possible connection here is likely reading a bit too far into it. The breakout session is on bioproducts, not fuels... its probably about how to make those fuels affordable by the sale of other products.
Nice find though.
Patent application. Thanks for digging. This applications been talked about in an article before.... amazing possibilities with coproducts.
I wouldn't be so certain about that (although it could be the case). Encapso wasn't even announced yet when they first mentioned the $3,700/MT high range. As the time they explicitly mentioned shipping over 30 truckloads for "applications including lubricants, metal working fluids, and personal care."
Yes, you can look at the last earnings cc powerpoint and you'll see it.
SCP did $5 mil revenue, up 24% y/y. I expect the margins will continue to look nice w/ algenist leading the way and the losses from ramping everdeep will be absorbed into that. Gross margins will probably stay in the mid 60% range if I had to guess.
In the first quarter 2014, algenist gross margins was 70% up from 64% in 2013. That's why I suspect we'll see around 65%-70% for SCP.
SZYM combined algenist & everdeep into Solazyme Consumer Products. So honestly, I don't as I expect we'll see a combined figure.
I think this helps to mask the poor return while they ramp up revenue and build the brand. This company thinks 5-10 years out, while we investors watch day to day... Probably a good idea.
As its been pointed out several times over, FB likes mean little I'm sure. But I think this might indicate that a lot of promotional effort is being directed to Everdeep for that kind of social growth.
Because only corporate-hating activist, Jim Thomas, can vouch for the legitimacy of the supposed SynBioBeta "founder"? haha. Jokes all around.
drilling lubricant tends to go for about 1500-3000/MT on alibaba. Of course these are Chinese, so the ASP range might even be lower than what we can expect. There are quite a few examples out there, but I think this one is the best comparison to encapso:
isDOTgd/AJ3i4x (ester-based lubricant CFK-1 made by puyang chengxin oilfield chem co.). This is a veggie oil based drilling lubricant used for water-based drilling fluids. Obviously missing out on the targeted aspect of encapso, but its selling for 2000-2500/MT
I can't even watch a documentary without the d- bag popping up. For those with Netflix, you can get a sense of his issues w/ syn bio on the film "Surviving Progress" (2011). Pretty good documentary that offers no real solutions but summarizes why this worlds pretty screwed going forward. Jim T's interview is paired along and contrasted against J. Craig Venter's interview. If you got the time, its an interesting film to watch in terms of understanding the bigger picture. Although its not mentioned, you really get a sense of why SZYM's tech is needed in the world of today.
Thumbs up because this made me laugh. I guess we better go shopping for a middle eastern prince in order to be legit.
