Hi all longs. Just got back from my local Denver store. I wanted to do a little hands on research. Literally the fewest people I have ever seen in a JCP. Maybe the freezing sleet and treacherous driving had something to do with it. Unbelievably quiet. Arrived at 2:45. Must have been at least 3 or 4 people waiting outside the store. That's my guess. Was inside from 3:00 to 3:15 and can't believe how short the lines were at the registers. 1 to 2 people deep in each line upstairs and downstairs. No lie.
How can they say they will produce 15k cars in Q4 but sell 17k cars in Q4 ?
Those 2000 cars delta must be coming from existing inventory. Their inventory has been building steadily this year and in Q2 & Q3 it greatly exceeded the auto manuf average.
" With the evidence gathered so far, it seems clear that Tesla is planning an inventory fire sale in Q4 to meet its delivery guidance. What impact will this have? With limited data available to project how successful such a fire sale might be, we merely surmise that this strategy will not come without its disadvantages. Obviously, margins will suffer if prices have to be drastically lowered to entice buyers. Bulls would accept a decline in gross margins due to higher costs without skipping a beat, but if faced with the prospect that lower margins are because of lackluster demand - that would be a major problem."
