excerpt(s)? I highly doubt Cramer said ARNA is a Best in Breed anything. Best at losing money and secondary offerings... that's about it.
tax credits. is there a market to sell and value tax credits? can ARNA perhaps sell a portion of its tax credits to fund future research? is there a tax credit ETF i can invest in?
of course doctors care about safety. the best way to be safe is to prescribe drugs that have predictable outcomes. doctors don't care about side effects. side effects can be recognized and managed... especially when you know they could be present. those "combo drugs" have a long history of patient use. There are not going to be any surprises popping up that a doctor didn't already expect. Belviq... not so much. There is a reason the FDA approved Belviq on condition of completing some lengthy studies regarding heart valves.
I would also say your mistake (and mine too) was thinking the huge obese population wanted to take pills and eat healthy and exercise. They dont. If they did, there are many options available now and none of them are selling very well.
do you know how many stock moves I've missed in my life? If I miss this one, I'll be ok. I don't care who you listen to. You're your own man. In the end, you might win on this one. you also might not. Tutes buy stocks all the time. They don't all end up being winners just because they are big smart tute guys. perhaps they like the risk to reward ratio., But, unlike many on this board, I doubt they have a significant amount of their cash tied up in this sub billion dollar company. I have said it before and I'll say it again. I hope you and the rest of the shareholders make out big on this stock. I just don't see it happening.
just look at the stock price. it doesn't matter what HR or Me or anyone else would do different. The fact is, that whatever JL is doing, isn't working out in the favor of shareholders. All these "exciting" things you list do NOT impress me. Patents? whoopity do. Patents do not generate revenue. the manufacturing plant is a money loser even with the tax breaks. The approved drug is a bust.. not a blockbuster. the 200+ million in the bank is 100% money taken from shareholders. If that is success then you are obviously winning a game I don't want any part of.
To answer your question though, I'm not saying I'd do anything different. This isn't a start up biotech anymore. They had plenty of time to develop drugs. JL has done what was needed to pay the bills. Problem is that time has run out. dilution in the future will generate paltry sums. That is why they offered the last secondary when he did. They had like 130-150 mil in the bank when they did that. He sneaked that last one in there because he knew future was going to mean less bang for the buck because of plunging share price.
You can always hope for a miracle.
"addiction stock blockbuster" - areniacs are outdoing themselves today. I'm just curious. How did that last "blockbuster" work out for you? ARNA is going to pocket about 4 million in revenue for the quarter. quite a bit shy of blockbuster status.
really? is that how you see it? You deserve to be invested in this loser. Contrave has never even had a TV commercial. And all you wanna-be scientists insisted doctors would never prescribe a "combo drug" over a novel drug. combo drug = known. novel = unknown... especially when that novel drug has years of safety studies it needs to complete.
this whole weight loss "industry" is the wrong horse. Fat people dont care that they are fat. If they did they would be sucking all these pills down and hitting the gym and learning how to eat like a human instead of garbage disposal. These drugs work. They just need patients that want to get healthy or a fascist government to force them to get healthy. Neither of which is happening anytime soon.
More 3rd person babble from the resident narcissist. I'm sure you really do think your YMB bashing lead to the downfall of VVUS. I wouldn't expect anything less from you

there wont be a new post for 20+ minutes? Makes me think the guy with the 200 ID's and 95% of the message board activity is taking a nap. Babs? You out there?
so about 4 million to ARNA. better than nothing I guess. I suppose the talking points have officially switched from "lorcaserin is gold." to "we have a dreamy pipeline... again." long way to go to get to 150 million. Oh wait, that was what they said Belviq would sell the FIRST year. at 1 billion market cap, there is a lot of downside room and not a lot of financing options going forward.
I'm not scared of butter. though I am a butter snob and only use Kerrygold. I'm not in the camp that thinks fat is bad. I wouldn't use olive oil with mussels though. a little homemade fish broth, butter, mussels, calamari, a little sea bass and prosciutto with some garlic and basil. I don't know what you call that but its what I'm having.Something I whip up every now and then. I'll take my wine on the side. 2 glasses even.
actually I'm going to enjoy a bowl of mussels tonight. unlike you fat ARNA slobs, I actually watch what I eat and I don't eat "big dinners". I actually take responsibility for my own health and don't rely on pharmaceuticals to maintain my health.
i've cooked with spam maybe 2 times in my life. both times tasty. I don't eat it because its a sodium bomb. Has nothing to do with the connotation that Spam is for the poor or that it is "gross". Apparently, you too "know" of spam. Who doesn't? You have never tried it? Then I guess you have to footing to stand on and your opinion is worth nothing. Or did you form your opinion based on the opinions of others? Wow. That sounds worldly. Oh well. I am in no way negatively affected by your assertions. I have tried and enjoyed a variety of foods on this planet because I'm not afraid to try something others believe to be gross or scary or icky. I dive in and form my own opinions. Kind of like my DD. unlike you, I don't rely on Stockvadar or Sauve9 to help me buy stocks.
why do you disparage Spam? Just because you can't cook with it doesn't make it bad. It is STILL sold in stores today for a reason. And at a greater clip than your beloved Belviq I would wager. While it isn't my favorite meat product I could whip up a sandwich or a breakfast that even someone as narcissistic as you would enjoy. It might not be pretty, it might not have the most followers, but I assure you in the right hands it can be made in to something delicious.
