The discussions on transparency are still underway and NOT in effect...so that ship has not left the dock.
Have to believe fundamentals will eventually win out...if new model introductions gain market share and China/Europe gain...share price will follow.
I have been feeling very positive about F lately...I think the numbers are too good to ignore...plus they are coming during a huge and costly product introduction period. I fully expect to see the price rise next week as we are approaching x-dividend date...it will be interesting to see if there is a general sell-off after 8/1. I personally think pricing will hold up BUT predictions with F can be a fools game.
It's the recent pump and dump articles with VERY strong positives followed by VERY strong negative comments. They did the same thing with AMD recently...there is definitely something very rotten there. You follow Seeking Alpha at your own (financial) risk.
TSLA is a technology company with a large R&D budget...the part of the article that rang true to me is KNDI's lack of investment to differentiate itself from competitors.
Seeking Alpha has made a huge presence in flooding the web with contradictory information on many companies....I'm amazed they have not sued...the lay authors of many articles are either pumping or bashing and sometimes do both within a matters of days.
Excellent observation...perhaps makes one feel better about losses.
Thank you for posting this...it certainly confirms the author has a negative point of view...but to ignore this in its' entirety you do so at your own risk. I for one will research this further.
Interesting how they mention TSLA and KNDI in same article...although both manufacturers produce cars with batteries I think that's where the comparison ends.
Shares of Tesla Motors, Inc. ( TSLA ) gained 4.9% to reach $228.79 on Jul 14, 2014 after the Chinese government made it mandatory for 30% of the government vehicle purchases to be electric vehicles (EV). This should bolster the electric carmaker's sales in the nation, which is the world's largest automobile market. However, Tesla will have to compete with domestic Chinese electric car manufacturers like Kandi Technolgies Group, Inc. ( KNDI ) for sales.
Tesla's sales in China will also get a boost from the recently announced waiver of 10% purchase tax on domestic and imported electric, plug-in hybrid and fuel-cell vehicles in the nation from Sep 2014 to Dec 2017. The country is trying to increase the popularity of electric cars to reduce the pollution level in its cities as well as increase its energy independence. China already offers significant subsidies on purchase of electric cars and has limited the number of gasoline vehicles that can be sold in some cities, in order to check pollution.
It's been my experience when companies report before market opening there is generally better news than after...this is not s statement of fact just a casual observation.
Unfortunately there may be lots of folks who are ready for profit taking so I expect volatility for the next several trading sessions...then we'll see if KNDI can hold up...frankly I'm not sure which way as this stock outperformed my highest expectations.
KNDI has had a huge run in almost real-time...it is due for a correction as nothing goes up constantly...if you believe in the company just hold as a longer term investment...if these price swings make you nervous then I'd strongly suggest you wait until you at least break even and move on...although KNDI appears to be in the right market at the right time it is not a certainty it will be successful long term.
I happen to own a 2010 Honda Accord Coupe and they are living off their reputation...their cars have multiple problems and this is my first and last Honda...I wouldn't trust any consumer rating coming from this company. Sorry for the rant but this is truly one of the least consumer friendly company's out there.
I'm waiting for that moment when F can finally build a base in the $18's...that event has been fleeting...I do feel that Ford is looking better than it has in some time in terms of fundamentals and hope we can achieve a breakthrough beyond $18...I do believe it's coming BUT F has disappointed before.
