Hahaha. In Louisiana you get rewards for fraud, theft, and racketeering. Slander must then at least be considered a virtue. You wanna hear what I really think about Patrick Juneau? Put on your helmet, buckle up and hold on, cause here we go.....
Patrick Juneau was "responsible for unprofessional culture at the settlement program, from top management down, that has allowed fraud, misconduct, and unethical behavior to flourish.” In Louisiana you are then considered to be "fully absolved". Different folks, different strokes.
Good idea. Its dirt cheap and will be even cheaper soon. You should be able to buy the whole company for a fist full of dollars.
They were BP but BP did lay them both off at the next RIF. Good riddance.
Of course BP is flawed. All human beings are flawed. You and I are flawed but that cannot stop us from trying to make a living. We'd all be dead in no time if we only allowed perfect human beings and perfect companies to work.
Wintoat34. Noticed you have accumulated 3445 thumbs down and 2 thumbs up? Those last two were probably typos. Does that tell you anything? My guess. No, absolutely not. Way to go broad.
Because there was zero evidence the judge allowed "elevator talk" as evidence. He should have dismissed the case due to complete lack of evidence. Besides, the charge, deleting a txt message about yoga and lunch is a completely legal act. People do this all the time. Judge is a #$%$ and should be sent to jail. I suggest 20 years and a $250k fine.
Now you are really pushing it. BP has never been found to pollute any oil and its gasoline is always pure and pristine. Don't start spreading false rumors!
Dirk. Yes I agree with the essence of your post. A deal is a deal but deals work best when completed immediately. Deals way out in the future, like pension plans, are built on quick sand. If the economy tanks, a war ensues or oil prices dip to $7 wellhead as happened in the early 90's it may not be possible to fulfill all the terms of the deal. If companies or the government do that anyway, others will greatly suffer by paying the price. People need to be a little more flexible in life while companies need to make sure promisses made are fulfilled as much as possible.
the Barbier/Juneau crime syndicate. Kurt Mix got royally *&^(^%^%$ by these bandits. The conviction will be overturned. All members of this crime group should go to jail for a long time. Louisiana has gone too far this time.
RE Kurt Mic trial: "The deleted text messages in question were innocuous, related to back pains and yoga lessons … none related to the spill … NONE! These were text messages between friends at work, work that was long and arduous as Mix and his team struggled stop the spill of oil into the Gulf of Mexico.
Since his initial indictment, I have wondered, written about, why the government would go after Mix. What evidence did they have? Then upon seeing that evidence I was nearly certain that the verdict would be to ‘acquit.’ Then when that jury found Mix guilty I continued to scratch my head …. how did things go so terribly wrong for Mix?
Now it is becoming a little more clear."
I why did they plead guilty? Because the deck was so stacked against them and this government so bend on extorting money from industry that they had no chance in court. Guilty until proven innocent beyond a shadow of doubt, thats what you are up against with this government. And the government itself? Always innocent and never responsible for its gross negligence even if hell freezes over.
Nope but I am sure Juneau does. I hear he is looking for a 120 ft yacht himself.
I think pensions are fine. If the company doesn't pay a pension their wages should be higher so people can save for themselves. BP offers both, a pension and high wages. I worked for BP, took my BP pension as a lump sum and saved through 401k and IRAs. Its a life of plenty and I worked a lot less than for BP than 32 years.
I agree. A promise is a promise. Just saying that after working 32 or 35 years for BP you should be flush. Just cannot believe you will then retire as a pauper as written. Some people will always be broke no matter what they are paid.
Yes you can. Don't bother reporting the details of your case to Juneau, he doesn't care. Send him your name, address, a stamped return envelop and your damages rounded up to the nearest million. Your check will be in the mail shortly. TIP: Slip a $100 bill in with your claim and Juneau will double your check. Works every time. Good luck.
There aren't even 150 million dollars worth of wild turkeys in the entire US. I just educated myself on the wild turkey: They do not swim, surf, snorkel nor play beach volley ball. A 20 dollar bill would have more than covered all damage to these tasty birds.
Russel Stauffer was disgusted over the general corruption in the South were he worked. When I worked for BP I avoided employees from Louisiana as the plague after two bad experiences. I can understand that.
