Its amazing how many americans are employed by Toyota and at high wages too. And then there is GM, putting people to work in China, Mexico, Canada. Where next? The moon? Toyota: If you don't want to work on the moon.
This is good. At this point BP should be appealing everything no matter how frivolous. Give the government a cookie of their own dough. BP should be able to draw this out for a long time and keep clogging the courts with nonsense. BP tried the cooperative, honorable and decent way for a long time and as a thank you got punished, insulted and abused. Time for some change. Change we can believe in. Yes we can!
You worry to much about pennies and short time stock movements. Its the big money investors are after and the big money has been with TM the past three years while GM stayed completely flat.
The economy dampened because of the spill??? Every time a spill happens somewhere the economy goes gangbuster because the cleanup generates a lot more business than a few fishing boats that stay in the harbor.. Why do you think there are so many spillionaires in the South?
You must be kidding me. The agreement is only about compensation due to the Macondo spill. Every word in the agreement IS about it w/o exception. But I got it now, it all depends on what the definition of "is" is. Right? Clever girl!
No way. You don't know the majors. Worked for BP, ARCO and Conoco-Phillips. Those things do not happen. Been in a somewhat similar situation in Alaska and received nothing. That was fine. Part of being an oil field worker. You just put up with all the extreme government abuse and go back to work, producing energy for the country or it will die.
Hogstank. You know better than that (or perhaps not). GM, loaded with free Obama welfare dollars, was IPO'ed three years ago for about the same price its trading today. That sucks! TM stock doubled over that same period AND DID NOT RECEIVE ANY WELLFARE DOLLARS. Those are the numbers that count, not some tiny movement in the stock market. Those insignificant movements happen every day for every stock traded.
Vikki. BP told all employees in 10 different writings not to delete any txt messages, emails or any other relevant documents. If have worked 17 years as a BP engineer. We do not txt messages to contractors or collegues of much significance other than the examples given. That Kurt Mix sent some "secret and unique oil leak rate" to a contractor is preposterous. Yes, Kurt Mix should have played it super safe and should not have deleted any "whats for lunch" messages but the dumbo did. Every oil field worker knows not to do that. But, prosecuting this poor soul and threatening him with 20 years prison shows exactly what the oil industry and its employees are up against: Federal morons and hateful lunatics!
In that case may I recommend Toyota. Many excellent models to choose from. Toyotas excel in all categories. Skip Toyoduh and go straight to the best. Toyota: If you want Xmas to be great.
A BP employee, Kurt Mix, is being prosecuted for deleting txt messages such "'Call you after I eat'; 'have u set the time for meeting tmrw?'; where are u sitting?." Its there anyone in the world who doesn't promptly delete such messages after reading? However, Mr. Mix made the mistake of working for an oil company and that is of course a serious crime worth prosecuting. Mr Mix can get 20 years of prison for his victimless crime. At the same time, Barbier and Juneau still haven't been put in a chain gang. How is that possible?
I think so. As the stock price increases BP will increase the dividend a little bit more to arrive at the pre spill dividend level in coming years. More importantly, de Justice Department has its eye on Barbier and Juneau. They do not like the fact that fraud and corruption has entered their ranks so blatantly. Barbier is dead meat. He still doesn't understand that the US is not the same as Louisiana.
Don't be surprised if BP files a mega lawsuit against the justice department, EPA, several southern states, Barbier Juneaua and other organized crime leaders. Could be a real windfall for BP when the facts come out in court. This company is on the rise again.
I read and understand it now. The problem is Barbier and Juneau. The problem will be solved.
Don't be sad purse_less. The stock is up $50 bucks/share this year. TM stockholder are doing very very well. So do the Toyota car owners. Toyota: If you want to do very very well.
I agree. You didn't make this up. These accusations were actually made. People accuse BP and "Big Oil" of all kinds of things. Evidence? who cares, as long as it sounds ugly and gets attention. You didn't make this up Vikki. People do this stuff all the time. Sad but true.
Of course. First thing the oil company will do is have Big Gov proof for every square inch of beach that the oil on it is actually from the spill. By the time Big Gov has proven that for the first acre we are 100 years down the road and nature will have cleaned up the spill. Problem solved.
If I didn't know better, I would say Barbier and Juneau are organized crime bosses. Then again, do I know better? Yes. BP knew in advance that some invalid damage claims would be accidentally approved through the claim process and called those errors false positives.. But that is very different from knowingly and willingly approving false claims. In our system of justice people sometimes are found guilty while in fact innocent. Some innocent people spend their lives in jail that way. That is a tragedy. But never do we knowingly and willingly convict innocent people. Juneau and Barbier are doing just that by approving claims that they know to be false and as such are acting like mobsters. When does the Justice Department step in? How long can Eric Holder keep ignoring this?
Nope. Wrong again. Can't you ever get it right? I own VLKAY stock and the profit comes to me. Live and spend in the US. Thats where those VLKAY profits go. I don't own GM so their HUGE losses don't come out of my pocket. TOYOTA: If you don't like huge losses.
