Diluted EPS $1.10
Tax valuation $.59
EPS after items $.51
So, LGF still came in strong plus had the added benefit from the deferred tax assets

I didn't find it yet in the press release but CNBC claims .51 is the bottom number after special items.

Should we have a moment of silence before the slaughter? Didn't think so... ;)

As I understand it, LGF will have payments coming in from several movies that are currently in the theaters. LGF also has T.V. shows that are currently running, which will result in future payments. The $1.1B shouldn't include the $250M in sales at Cannes since that was in May.
I don't believe Enders Game or HG2 are included, but this is an entertainment stock and their accounting is a different animal altogether.
Every other stock I've owned has been more predictable, but not as profitable.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
It means LGF has $1.1B coming to them in the coming months. There is no firm timetable in the entertainment field, but it IS coming.
Just imagine that you had $1.1B in product that you hadn't received payment for (yet). Don't you think that's a good thing? It is.

Wanna, I like your number better. I think we'll get there by quarter's end. I would be surprised if we don't break 30 tomorrow, especially after the glowing forward comments made by Jon, Mike & Co. Friday morning. (C'mon, you know it will be glowing)

Lionsgate's press release said earnings will be posted after the market close. Anything posted prior to market close is highly suspect. On a positive note, we did fill in the $28.06 gap.

One less negative to worry about!

Any ideas about Anger Management? I would think LGF received some money from FX, but not sure.

P.S. Yahoo deleted my first attempt to post this message!!!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Wanna, although I appreciate Yahoo's attempt to remove the spammers, I do believe that regular posters should be allowed to post freely, which would include links and dotcoms.
After giving it some thought, I wonder why they can't come up with a moderator system. One or more regular posters who could recognize a spammer vs someone with an opposing viewpoint. Obviously some sort of I.D. verification would be required for the mods. Overall, Yahoo could spend less effort on the message boards.
Either that or come up with software that recognizes regular & longtime posters and leaves their posts alone.

Outlaw, it seems like LGF is attempting to fill in the gap, maybe before market close.

Patience is a virtue, especially with Yahoo. I've had my days also where I couldn't get anything to post.

Lionsgate and WWE Studios have hired visual effects specialist Zach Lipovsky to direct their Leprechaun reboot, reports The Wrap. Lipovsky was a finalist on the Fox reality show "On the Lot."
WWE's Dylan "Hornswoggle" Postl will play the title character, which was made famous in the original 1993 movie by Warwick Davis.
The new film will not connect with previous mythology of the franchise in any way. It was previously said that the tone is going to be a little darker, more traditional horror.
Harris Wilkinson wrote the script for the film. Lionsgate's Erik Feig, Michael Paseornek and John Sacchi will oversee the project for the studio, along with co-producing partners Michael Luisi and Richard Lowell of WWE Studios.
