i think the so called people with a system who always dump their shares after divy ex are in play they all think they can game the system so go ahead and puke out the shares so we as investors can move on.

When a company declares a dividend, it sets a record date when you must be on the company's books as a shareholder to receive the dividend. Companies also use this date to determine who is sent proxy statements, financial reports, and other information.

Once the company sets the record date, the stock exchanges or the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. fix the ex-dividend date. The ex-dividend date is normally set for stocks two business days before the record date. If you purchase a stock on its ex-dividend date or after, you will not receive the next dividend payment. Instead, the seller gets the dividend. If you purchase before the ex-dividend date, you get the dividend. If you sell your stock before the ex-dividend date, you also are selling away your right to the stock dividend

panic on the day before x day is not a strategy i want any part of. they do it in nearly all dividend stocks and in my opinion only, its as stupid as it looks. i also respect your opinion and realize its just part of doing business in these things, but its still moronic to me.

  • larry2607 by larry2607 Apr 8, 2014 10:17 AM Flag

sell your lnco today cause they pay the dividend tomorrow . how stupid is that you just got to laugh at the morons that sell before ex day

if you were wanting some of this now is the time to start buying. quit watching google or tesla or any of those over priced stocks. just think if you held this thing for next 15 yrs instead of the next 15 days. people will always build things even if it delivered by amazon.

since i cant talk good about line, i guess i cant tell you that line made me the most money last year with some trading some core holding and divys, and i guess i cant tell you i expect it to be one of my best holdings this year. maybe you could go ask barrons about line, or read some jpm releases. oh and i sorry we havent lived up to your expectations.

a little insight to your comments. i live here in the permian and the activity is crazy. odessa and midland are the 3rd and 4th fastest growing towns in the country. its all the oil and exploration being done. 2 new drilling cos. just moved into the area. these people are begging for acreage to drill on and if line turns loose of some, it will be at a premium price. i have lived here for 40 yrs and never seen it this way. listen to what the pxd ceo had to say about the thirty years of work they had. this is turning into the north dakota deal down here in tx. with old technology this land is ho hum, but with new technology they are sitting on a gold mine and line knows it, we are just understanding it and jpm or cramoron cant see it out their 40 story over looking statue of liberty. oh and how bout that oil that caught fire off the train car. its special oil and burns faster, REALLY. my 2 cents thanks

and cramers qualified guidance is it fact. facts are they have raised their oil and gas reserves, they have bought bry and not even jpm can anticipate the input from that until included in earnings. facts are they are making more off cal. oil. facts are that the slides and info posted is managements predictions as they know it at this time. until that changes my hair is not going to catch on fire.

no body goes and reads like any stuff important anymore. that would require some work. the slide looks good and if you read on i believe they said they have 100 mill excess cash from brys deal. increase in reserves, more oil, lng exports some day, permian trade off or sale, lower capex, 100 dollar oil, driving season coming, 31 million left over from last qtr. and all they can talk about is how many puts were bought on a given day. the only problem is that cramroaches infested this thing and he threw them under the bus, and jpm came along and saw a good way to make a buck and puked out the same garbage we heard over and over. now the can it cover its divy people already starting up and you can bet there will be one more push kill the survivors and then their war will move on to another group of suckers. and yes im tired of the bs too. im going to collect my divys thank you and good night

sounds like your trying to go the 5 stages of grief with the loss of your money. im just at the %$$#%^&&**%$$$$$%%%%$$##@ angry stage. last time i was there i sold bpt for the same reason, but several days later i realized what i did and bought back in and ended up making more than i lost. point is i understand why you sold and like others feel the pain too, but like the other man said nothing has changed with lnco. i believe if they would have boosted divy the shorts would have shorted more and said they cant cover and we still would have gone down. as for me im out of bullets and wont go into margin to buy more. after living through 2008 this in a cow turd in the road to happy destiny.

  • larry2607 by larry2607 Mar 24, 2014 11:26 AM Flag

jpm investors must be very happy with their diligent work. lets see at 33.50 line is a great buy or hold, 4 to 5 dollars later its time to sell. REALLY. i also guess line and lnco oil not worth the 100 dollar price that other cos. getting. on jan 6 jpm sees great value in lines bry purchase. bry hasnt even been included in a earnings report. jpm also upgraded bry on its last earnings report. so people play the game, sell on the news of downgrade, muttles around for a while, and then gets its footing again, and turns around. mean while the short sellers make a lot of dough again, so bash, bash, and bash it again.get this game over and go buy some 2.78 yeild treasuries might even go to 3.25.
