it seems that Lanza made a close allegience with puppetji when he was a speaker at SAND 2010 and so gave him a few million shares ......hopefully they were disclosed because would hate a lawsuit to come from this....it takes me long enough to read the 10k don't need another paragraph

We all know the theory behind the first mouse and the cheese.
Lanza is a stem cell guy,not an eye guy. When ya look at the big wig eye guys and their approach the consenus is really to lay the cells down on a substrate. Lanza even admitted in an interview that they would need a contigency plan (biotech in a blink ) .
New improved methods to lay those substrates down in a less invasive way are being discovered.. Coffey although way behind in effect has allowed ACTC to help shine the light on the safety issues. Will essentially a fabricated Bruch turn out to be a more effective method. Who will lead the way? Riken is probably the powerhouse. Or does RPE itself just take the back burner and photoreceptors are really the ticket.
Odds are this first program of ACTC's will not be make it to market. It will however have helped pave the way to the ultimate success of stem cells and the eyes. -

by lastbullstanding •May 2, 2013 12:53 PMi should point out that the majority of big eye guys like coffey ,humayun etc. all seem to believe in the sheet method......however if you do decide to read the abstracts you will find long term rat studies on the free floaters

by lastbullstanding •May 2, 2013 12:53 PMThey are able to delivery virtually the same as us....using a needle or a "cannula".....and a custum made plunger....I'm assuming that the plunger was sent through the cannula.......If you are interested in this stuff.....go read some abstracts they are easy enough to find.....basically when we used to have thoughtful discussion around here....the consenses was that the procedure to lay a sheet of cells in was more invasive yet this method is pretty close to our method ....other than on a sheet ....and IPS of course
Here is the conclusion to this particular study:"We presented a novel device to transplant hiPSC-RPE cells-sheet safely and stably with the correct positioning into subretinal space by inserting the grafts in the coaxial direction of flow paths and with adequate subretinal drainage. We will further confirm these results by transplanting hiPSC-RPE cell-sheet into monkey eyes." -
one of the most interesting to me......at least in RPE methods....was the cell sheet (fabricated Bruch) that was delivered with a novel method....basically that did eight rabbits but were able to deliver the sheets without the more invasive surgery ....which was the argument on why our method was better than the fabricated Bruch...the deliver it into the subretinal by a custum made plunger

wow ...one stars for ARVO i read the abstracts and this is right up ACT's ally .....Riken .....Paul Coffey etc. ....the lack of sophistication here is mind boggling....half probably don't even know what ARVO is

ya wanna invest in stems .....take a look at the commercial relationships of all these groups workin on eyes ......bausch and lamb ....novartis...alcon.....astrazenneca....thats were yer money needs to go cause at the end of the day these guys will be the winners
