2 really good posts. I always had confidence in the technical Merritt /strength . The testing with the FCC was so thorough by Jarvinian with Nanoton and the filtering technology.

Instocks, it's good to have you back , I thought you missed a payment on your premium service. IMO Since July 1 the market has been rotating out of small caps/
Russell . Gsat held up ok early because of the Cramer bump , then the Fed chairman says small caps are frothy and the next day the whole market rolls over because of Russia shooting down the plane,it's not good being part of an index when players want out. Everyone wants to know what wrong with Gsat and the crazies and the shorts pile on. Perfect time for the professionals to shake out the weak hands and scoop up the shares that got stopped out. The story has not changed only gotten better. I also know of a new Event Driven Fund that was waiting for an entry point and jumped in last week although I gave him the heads up a year ago.
As more intuitions get involved they put more pressure on their clearing houses to pick up coverage.I have some TZA on to navigate the short term volatility in small caps.

    Leo,
I always thought Sept/Oct in my mind. I really do believe that the is e-rate very important to the NPRM so you could be right on that.
IMO GSAT was also fortunate to have one of the most highly regarded engineers(nano watt technology) work with the FCC technical staff and gave the FCC the evidence it needed to take ownership. Small caps and high beta are rolling over a little here so just a pause
before takeoff. Hope you had a good vacation.

If you go to the Bloomberg website there is a great presentation given by Mat Son of Sprint. Tells you how far behind the US is in broadband infrastrure/speed . Also connectivity to schools etc. Notihing most here don't know, but a real endorement about how vital TLPS will to US infrastructure and economy and give schools the resources to compete.

Just my opinion ,but Russell index was down 3 percent last week and again yesterday after fed chairman Yellen basically said biotech and small caps were a little frothy. She speaks again today. Good opportunity to scoop up some Gsat.

They were also up 59 percent last year so they no how to pick them. Reporting is starting now and this is the first quarter for GSAT with NYSE listing so we should see some new names.

Not an earnings play. FCC /Monetization of Spectrum and future partnerships. The CC is always interesting as to how the partnership discussions are going and Jays /Gsat feeling about the comment period which by all accounts went well for Gsat. Jay is also excited by the prospects of Sat-fi and will probably spend some time on that.,but the market is not expecting any big surprises in their MSS business.

It is evident to me that the commission as a whole is not turning down anything for free as funding is a big issue. The majority of schools, libraries and colleges are in the upper band of public spectrum
so urban areas with congestion(which we know TLPS works best) will also be lobbying for the managed spectrum. Your right, how to best utilize the 20,000 access points will be a topic of discussion going forward.

Don't become consumed with short term pullbacks unless the story has changed. There was a really good article in barons this weekend on how undervalued Dish is based on its spectrum holdings. That is spectrum without an ecosystem to support. GSAT story continues to get better as our piece of real estate is "high end" and
ready for use. I still believe FCC approval is probable in the fall. Also, I believe (as others do) the timing of Cramers call is curious., WSJ is a ver small community and everbody talks . IMO you will start to see Bankers trying to position themselves between Gsat and GOOG,AMZN ,AAPL,Comcast,Sprint,AT&T etc. competition in the end will be good for GSAT whether it's multiple leases or some type of exclusive deal. When it comes to spectrum these guys don't play nice.Ask sprint ( SON) what he thinks of the price Ergen made him pay for CLWR.

I believe you are referring to Ruth Milkman who is Wheelers Chief Of Staff . She was a former parter of Regina Keeney GSAT lead lawyer in Washington. The firm was once Lawler Metzger Milkman and Keeney. We have extremely good/competent representation in Washington .

I agree. I think his summation risks and all was spot.on. Gsat is a short term binary play on TLPS Spectrum moitization and a longer term growth story using its assets on a GLOBAL scale. As Cramer pointed out there are many ways Jay can go to monetize ,but IMO companies don't share or play nice. If you are GOOG you are not going to want AMZN to have control of superior WIFI/TLPS ,same with AT&T or Verizon. Its a high class problem ,but we could see a bidding war for exclusive us of GSAT spectrum.

Stock will be purchased in the open market by funds that track or use the Russell as a benchmark .The game is also played by "Program Trading Desk" at big institutions who try and get out in front of additions and deletions and put on proprietary positions. I believe a lot of the action happened in the first couple of weeks of June. I think Vic had some great posts about the rebalance if you want to check those out.

It should continue. John Carris and company was forced by regulators to liquidate their position.(which was big). They were the original bankers for FCSC. Knocked the stock from 6 to 2.75 because everybody got out of the way until they were done. 4 or 5 insiders bought including RJ who bought another 400,000. Stock was way oversold and also had some positive fundamental news ( orphan drug and ucla collaboration).

The "Street" having no knowledge of TLPS and the monetization of spectrum reiterates there same opinion they put out a couple months ago. WHen Crammer was running his Hedge Fund and his analyst did not do their research he would berate them to no end. So being clueless about the binary event is embarrassing for the street.

Wheeler said he would report back by Sept about the reforms ( good timing). Keep also checking the Education Superhighway website and their E -rate 2.0 plans. They will be taking the lead as far as funding. I always felt this was very strong positive for our NPRM as it's a huge initiative for the administration.
