eugene u r a philosopher yet u make good points. I guess its the expectation of earnings and divs rising faster than inflation which attracts investors to ibm like stocks.
with mreits, which form 4-5% of my portfolio, we r not expecting divs increasing faster than inflation. besides they r special case investments doing well only in a sluggish economy with low inflation, as is the case presently. should the economy and inflation zoom up (unlikely in forseeable future) mreits will get hurt. So mreits are a "boutique" and not all weather investments, else i would have a much larger %ge of my portfolio invested in them..
Hey sane I can bet u anything B says its premature to talk taper. He is too scared about the economic fragility and does not want his legacy to mirror Greenspan. This does not mean we won't have div cuts in the interim.
what I want to know is whether Kain & Co kept buying increasingly expensive MBS with SPO money to make their bonuses larger. If so then shame on him/them. Even a neophyte knows not to chase a fast rising market.
their cheating hearts. Most of em now on ignore but some sure keep rising from their graves at midnight.
yeah, this guy reik has a real low self image problem, making him seek approval desperately by cherry picking his successful trades while suppressing his disasters.
if one were foolish enuff to believe him he oughta be rich as Buffet by now.
its sometimes amusing to read his childish boasts, that is if u can understand his syntax which tends to be outta this world.
Its positively painful to hear their screams and squeals.
insta the logic is with u. just hang tough. my mreit allocation is full yet i bought some special situation jmi (@$14.92) a few days ago coz it almost doubled its shares by the May 8 SPO at $19 so they have a lot of powder to go buy agency and non agency at bargain prices.
the MBB is falling along with most mreits. Bullard is a voting fed governor. he thought inflation is low enuff to continue easing. Not all mreits are down. Gary Kain is being singled out for thrashing. Folks are mad at him.
Even Nly and anh r being boosted along with jmi. wmc is flattish. Verrry interesting.
here is jmi statement "The Company intends to use the net proceeds of the offering to acquire additional agency and non-agency securities as market conditions warrant and for general corporate purposes."
and here is Ladenberg "Ladenburg Thalmann initiates JMI with a Buy and price target of $21. In firm's view, the management company has established a track record of superior results over the past two years with its Agency-Only strategy employed at ARR"
eugene Ladenburg seems to suggest jmi is a pure agency play whereas i recall management saying they will deploy new funds raised in May in non agency as well. what is ur take?
Have been trying to put the crazies on ignore. yahoo says ignore was successful but nothing happens.
