Hi, Emarbach, thanks for asking. This last move by SVA is definitely turning me off to Chinese stocks.
I'm going go under the assumption that the global markets are going to be in turmoil for quite some time making it difficult to pin-point a Chinese stock that is worth taking a chance on. If Sinobioway has a stock, I would be interested in that and would appreciate any guidance there. I also would be interested in Chinese stocks you think show promise.
I'm going to make some short term plays on the volatility for awhile until I see a catalyst pointing one way or another. I was more then concerned about the statement Ben Carson made in last nights debate mentioning 200 trillion unfunded liabilities we owe on top of the 19 or so trillion or debt. I want to know a lot more about that 200 trillion figure? IMO, Luck, Life
Two new filings this morning dated Tuesday Feb 16th. One from Orbimed and one Wellington Management.
Don't know what they mean but they are about shares they own. IMO, Luck Life
Actually I picked up $400.00 on nvax in less then an hour yesterday, I'll be playing it a lot. They keep printing stock like its toilet paper and borrowing money like its potato chips. That sucker is going to be all over the place for quite awhile. I'm also looking as CSX if it sips down to $below $22.50. IMO, Luck, Life
I'm not talking about last week when there was tons of volume. I talking about yesterday and the fact that its always broken up unto 100 and 200 share lots means that it is being program traded. IMO, Luck Life
Ok Surf and others, here's my take.
I bought 2000 shares yesterday at 6.73 which was some that I had sold over $7.00 last Friday. I spent a lot of hours watching the tape yesterday placing and pulling sell, limit orders. Here is what I found out and my conclusion as to what is going on. I finally sold today at $6.76.something for a whopping $20.00 profit.
1. The stock is being tightly controlled and someone/group/mm is collecting as many shares as they can under $7.00.
. 2. Every time I changed the ask, instantly the bid was taken down 1 cent under the ask and this happened before I even got to the pre-place order. It occurred the very second I hit the limit amount !
So it tells me the shares are so scarce that someone is watching ever single trade. You absolutely can not go in and hit a sell at market order for anything over 100 shares without getting killed and a limit order is not going to get filled period unless it is well above the ask and even then dangerous.
3. Conclusion: Game is still on and it will be bought out at least at $7.00. The market maker must be the one collecting (for somebody) otherwise my screen would not be in lockstep with everything I enter.
4. I won't be playing anymore SVA, but instead will be concentrating my efforts on other stocks.
5. No matter who buys SVA it will be taken private so it deserves no more of my attention.
Imo, luck, life
It's hard to read at the, but can be done few lines at a time. Doesn't look ominous. IMO, Luck, Life
Both of you have been in longer then I and had the luxury of making a bundle at or around 10. I started at 6 and bought all the ways down to the lows under 2 and back up. I sold just about half Friday at a little over $7.00. I, like Surf will hold tight to the rest until this is totally resolved. At this point I have a very nice gain on what I sold Friday and a very nice gain on what I'm holding, but not near what the potential is. Maybe Yin will do the right thing and keep SVA listed on the Nasdaq, drop his offer and refuse the other offer and forget about taking a great company private. IMO, Luck, Life
Yes there is a lot to speculate on. I'm thinking they are going to file an Edger over the weekend. If this goes into Monday, things could get real interesting as in more bidders. As it going back to $4.00, I doubt that could happen under any circumstances. IMO, Luck, Life
So will it be a run for the roses, more of the same, or a run for the door in the last 15 minutes?
I planned for all three so I'm good with whatever happens and hope you are to! Best of luck, to all of you. IMO, Luck, life
How did the experiment go! Were they able to find you a mate, or are you hopelessly a lonely monkey.LOL, as you say! Keep up whatever it is that you do! IMO, Luck, Life
Wow, some ending. It would appear by the last ten minutes trading that another higher bid may be on the way. Looks like someone/group was willing to buy all the shares they could under 7 and when that ran out near the end, they were not going to let that stop them. That pretty well either means the first bid is going to be sweetened or an entirely new group is going to show up overnight in the shuffle. Funny how everyone hates a great stock until everyone loves it at the same time.
IMO, Luck Emarbach, let me know what you make of it.
Looks like they pulled the article and re-wrote it leaving out the middle but everyone got it before that.
IMO, Luck, Life
People are waking up!
Do I remember right that you are in Australia? If so what to heck time is it there?
Well Surf, I learned a long time ago that one person can change the world. Weidong Yin is such a person.
I caught on to his plan to be the largest company of their kind in China quite some time ago. The main reason I have stuck with this company was because Mr. Yin had repeatedly said he would not sell shares but would seek financing for growth from the improving banking climate and lowering of interest rates in China. Also he has said he was against taking the company private. After reading their code of ethics on their website, I believe him. In addition to that, if someone is caught double-dealing in China, it usually doesn't turn out too well for the perpetrators. So I don't think they would take a chance with that.
Sinovac has always been hard to decipher as various entities own various amounts of the company and those entities own various amounts of other related entities etc, etc.
The bottom line is that all those entities are growing.
So who knows what is really going on here, but it certainly is not because the company is in trouble. In fact, quite the contrary as they are growing their vaccine arsenal explosively. I don't know how it will all end up shaking out, but I'm not going to jump ship after all this time unless someone pushes me off the plank kicking and screaming. IMO, Luck, Life
The newly approved EV-71, HFMD Vaccine could easily quadruple current sales for Sinovac. The other 5 drugs they have going to clinical could easily quadruple that amount again. For all you folks that walk around in the fog, you had better do some research and not underestimate Sinovac or Sinobioway nor the growth in progress of both companies. Others I am sure are taking notice that one of the best growth stocks in China is about to be stolen. IMO, luck Life
