This other cancer therapy's side effects are potentially fatal heart problems. Hence IF oncy is real... reosylin's great absence of side effects is a major plus to using reosylin vs other drugs of equal of lesser success rates. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/20/health/research/20cancer.html?hp
ahhhh... refreshing to see someone think between the lines... vs the original poster to the thread who sees the word "mouse" and obviously thinks like one.
I appreciate your cynicism as it relates to Washington. They certainly earned our cynicism. That said... what's more than likely to axed is anything elective... like plastic surgery etc. Hopefully things like Viagra will NOT be covered. But if the Reoysolin is not outrageously priced... the reality is that the market for the drug in the U.S. will now be available to a group of people that would never have had the opportunity to be treated before.
Not sure if it was mentioned in the previous notes... but from a selfish ONCY business perspective... (in the U.S.) that health care bill will actually wind up being good for ONCY. The bottom line is... if you have 32 million more people insured... than were before... than unfortunately a decent number of those folks will acquire some form of cancer in their lives. If that's the case... than having 32 million more people covered by insurance in the U.S. will ultimately be a good thing for ONCY here in the U.S. (Assuming, of course, that the cancer therapy is everything we think and hope that it is and will be).
Another more in depth article... http://www.nhs.uk/news/2010/03March/Pages/Virus-kills-prostate-cancer.aspx
IMHO... I believe the resistance is at $3.50. Once it climbs over that, much less less resistance to climb to $4 at that point. $3.50 is the magic number IMHO
The most interesting and telling line of the interview is where he said something to the effect that Reosylin is effective on 65-70% of all cancers.
Nothing will hex a rally more than using the word "breathtaking". I'm certainly encouraged by the trading of the last few days... and the apparent steps ONCY is taking to become successful. You just never want to get too far in front of this. Oncy still has a ton of work to get thru these and other clinical trials. But yes, the fact that ONCY is now on more radar screens are good... but to start counting those chickens too early... is never a good thing from a realistic and karma standpoint point. Would certainly like to have bought more shares 3 weeks ago. Coulda, woulda shoulda! Good luck y'all.
Row boat across the ocean... Tired of living? www.rowforwater.com. Are you kidding. Not tired of living... might be a bit tired of working. Can't wait to work a lot less and explore more of the world with my daughter via motorcycle. I've taken some great motorcycle road trips across the country. Now it's time to explore more of the world. Hope you are well.
Just to be clear... it appeared that the WRITER of the article made the following statement and not Thompson...
"This treatment could result in the biggest medical discovery of the 21st century."
No matter who made the statement... it's obviously a statement that gets your attention.
There's so much negative BS going on here all the time... I thought I would pass on this great story of this 22 year old woman that is ROWING solo across the Atlantic (From Senegal to Cayenne). Be sure to check out her blog and also be sure to click on the "Where's Katie" button on the middle right of the page... so you can see where in the ocean she currently is. She's now a little more than half way across. So whether it's developing a cure for cancer or rowing across the ocean to help provide clean drinking water... for those that don't have any... there is some great in this world. www.RowForWater.com
"Fraudsters"? "Criminal activity"? Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black. It's obvious that you have a serious shorting agenda... or no life or both... for you to spend so much time posting on here. Candidly I'm on here to find constructive info... of which you provide none. Take your agenda and get out there and get some fishing in... spend time with the kids or with the wife... but please get a life.
Alex... you're hilarious. You're such a nice guy off line. Why so angry here? I know this is part sport for you ragging on stupid people. But we really do need to get you some hobbies and out of the house during the day. But hell... I know it's too cold there in the winter time to do anything else. Hope you are well.
Star... for those of us that make our living outside of the markets... can you provide a link (or copy and paste) of the info that shows CIBC's buying for the day?
Thanks in advance.
Phree... if you're going to rag on Armed or anyone else... at least learn to spell so that you don't look stupid in the process of trying to accomplish something.
Here's the deal... with so little volume on a day to day basis in ONCY... it's very easy to manipulate the stock. Those that want to buy alot of shares at a lower price... just to have to sell a FEW shares now... in order to buy ALOT of shares later at that lower price. Pretty simple. But if you already own shares... kind of stupid to follow the herd and sell. Time to just go fishing and come back in 6 months. If you watch this every day... it's going to give you grey hair or no hair. Enjoy.
It certainly appears that the news coming out of ONCY is much further along... i.e. Phase III vs Phase II for CYCC and oncy already has their SPA. What CYCC has is a New Jersey based company with a good PR team. Oncy is behind the curve on the PR side... but have great technology... which will eventually prove itself out with the share price. Hang on in there.
Venture... until a company actually starts commercializing a venture and starts making a profit... it's NOT a "stock"... it's an "opportunity" and a "story". In the case of Oncolytics Biotech... the "story" appears to be a good one. But as with any biotech that must go thru clinical trials... the story is not a FAST one. So if you are looking for fast and an immediate return... ONCY the company or the stock is not for you. Hence I would suggest you sell and others will likely buy your stock. The company and investors need two things... patients (for more clinical trials) and patience... because this is not a fast process. Tough decision... if I recall correctly you're in your 60's and it sure would be nice to have a nice triple or home run so that you can go off and play and enjoy your years before you get too old. Hell... I'm pushing 50 and I certainly want to do the same thing. I too would like to have a nice triple or double so I can go off and play a bit more. But if you're looking for a killing and or quicker return and you have a fair appetite for risk... I'd say just go to Vegas and throw a bunch of money on red at the roulette table and see what happens. I'd say the chances with Oncy are really going to be very similar to that spin at the roulette wheel. But at least with roulette... you'll probably find your answer MUCH sooner. Personally I believe Oncy is worth the wait... even if it takes another couple of years to get there. The reality is that the fight on Cancer has been going for at least 40 years. Another year or so is a drop in the bucket in that span of time. For more perspective on that take a look at this article from the NY Times http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/29/health/research/29cancer.html?scp=4&sq=cancer&st=cse Good luck and happy new year.
