Apparently WMZ wasn't doing so good and WMB decided on the merger. WPZ is the surviving partnership and will be able to increase its distributions in the future. It is complicated even after reading all the notices on their website. This Yahoo stock chart I created is still showing my units and cost as I entered it long ago. If you rely on Yahoo stock charts, you'll have to make the changes yourself. You have fewer shares now but your "cost" remains the same thus it looks like you paid more per share (unit). The Williams website has links to explain what we now own and if there was a payout to unit holders.
"got a bit of cash"? I'm long WPZ and don't understand exactly what I now own! I received no cash, or at least my broker acct. doesn't show any. Did WPZ payout cash via another distribution? a higher distribution? Sorry, I just don't understand. If you could explain I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Thanks for the info. I'm not happy about the cut, but at least they didn't eliminate it entirely like some others have. These companies have no control over the price of oil or gas so I'm not upset with mgmt. and am holding. You know there will be higher prices in the future and the dividend will be increased then.
