"But all this won't be any time soon. Samsung's SUHD quantum dot displays were only released this year and it's expected to be a few years before QLED is sufficiently developed and ready for mass production"
I'm liking this last part. Gives me time to make money while Samsung and others continue to exploit the benefits of flexible screens, lighting, monitors and etc. All we need to do is find the company to buy into the next wave of Samsung TV. Any idea whom will be a winner in the QLED space?
This was wayyyyyyyyyy back in 2010. Unless there is a new JUST ANNOUNCED deal.
Advanced display technology will produce brilliant, colorful images while requiring far less energy than today’s display products
Watertown, MA, November 30, 2010 – QD Vision, Inc. and LG Display (NYSE: LPL, KRX : 034220), today announced a joint development agreement focused on creating highly-efficient, high-performance active matrix displays based on electroluminescent quantum dot LED (QLED) nanotechnology. The display will require much less energy than current products, while producing brighter, richer colors.
Coherent is in the very enviable position of having two game-changing opportunities underway. Our market-enabling solution for OLED manufacturing has contributed to record-shattering orders of nearly $500 million in the second fiscal quarter and includes Linebeam 1000, Linebeam 1500 and UV Blade systems. The capacity these tools provide will help drive a market share inversion between today's LTPS-LCD technology and rigid and flexible OLEDs for mobile display applications.
If you watched on the sports network Bayer Leverkusen play Bayern Munich to a 0 0 tie, the whole Leverkusen team wore a a jersey with the logo on the front LG OLED TV. in big gold letters. How about that?
