    I agree.
As common shareholder, I look for any clue wether or not they're pursuing a sustainable business.
For now, I think they are.
There have been delays. Next qrt release (1st 2015) is an important one.
    ----
    Thanks@Constantine for sharing.
    ----
    My take.
TomorroW ER: a tiepid ER...... +0.10 to -0.30 EPS.
1st qrt 2015 ER: an excellent one.

oops, sorry. Just seen you asked me about the 5 Mil$ miss.
This is a well known miss they announced few days before year end 2014.
They delayed a fc (or electrolizer) deployment, and we'll see a 5 Mil$ miss in revs for the qrt.

    Dec 16..... c'mon, it's well known.
"MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Dec. 16, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hydrogenics Corporation (HYGS) (HYG.TO) ("Hydrogenics" or "the Company"), a leading developer and manufacturer of hydrogen generation and hydrogen-based power modules, today announced the delivery delay of two projects scheduled for shipment in the fourth quarter. The revenue associated with these customers, approximately $5 million in aggregate, will now be recognized in the first quarter of 2015. "

IMO, +0.10 to -0.30 in EPS depending on adm/selling costs.
Revs will be likely 15 Mil$.

While thanking you for the usual heads up, what about a five minutes of raw facts for this Company?
I'd start by ignoring the positive points, that is auto segment.. the VW, 1 or 2 more OEMs. Those alone give us a nice basement of revs for next 5 years + 2 optionals.
Now, for next 4 qrts, how do you see the potential growth of this Company?
In the light of the CCall, while I really appreciated how he presented facts, I really think BLDP will zuck bigtime.... no projections, no guidances tell me so.
He stated that Telco won't grow that much this whole year and more over he talked about buses like.... the contract just signed will get recognition "maybe" in 2015? Correct? I thought it was a given.
To me, the only surprise in next 3 qrts could come from China.... thank God a valid partner from there, "well capitalized" he said.
Angloplatinum, neither mentioned. I think already dead, if you think that the trial is now at half execution.
Then, some surprising order could come from Sprint. I've seen that their CEO just bought 24 Mil$ in shares, open market. Their balance sheet is horrible, however... could it be that something is moving on their segment? So the possible/forseen fc towers are near to an adoption?

The stock is again a 100% speculative. Just saying, today Sidoti said HOLD....1$ (from 4$).

    Hint?

  • ...into an HTech publicly traded company, with potentially a lot to do in restructuring itself because of very low margins, facing everyday a challenging market in energy in worldwide markets.....
What can a person over 80 offer, still? With the need of mental and phisical energies his role requires?

    RICHARD A. BROMLEY - 80
    WILLIAM A. LAWSON - 81

    11 Mil$ revs in 4th qrt 2013.

(me) 15 Mil$ revs in 4th qrt 2014.... below expectations, but with a fine +40% YOY growth..... so, from +1 to -3 mil$ net profits (loss) depending on selling costs. Between +0.10$ and -0.3$ eps.

Nasdaq at all time high and HYGS near 12 mo low.
    Plus a ERelease with pre-announced 5 Mil$ miss.
Plus 1st shareholder pulling the trigger every time the stock moves up.
    ----
    My take.
1- The COMM guys have to sell all their stake (because of their 2.5 Bil$ takeover on a telco segment). Anyway, that's not the way to do it. They'd better wait or sell with another private transaction, just like they did with the 500k before.
2- I suspect the 5 Mil$ miss is played big time by 1-shorter..... a friend of the trader that is downloading the COMM' stake, for I don't see so much short positions.
3- Hope that HYGS don't fail also with 1st qrt, otherwise it will take qrts and qrts in order for this Company to recover credibility.

Only to be clear.... this coming ER is another miss, but they ALREADY told it in december. So in theory that's not surprise.
The big game is in 1st QRT 2015 ER.

I agree that we haven't seen precisely a sell-off, after an horrible ER. Volumes weren't huge.
The fact remains: for a while this stock will be the shorties' luna park.... 60% shares shorted yesterday.

I can suggest everybody to read back the SAlpha trascription of the CCall.
A pletora of GREAT, good, mixed, bad and awful points, some unnamed (Gendrive, Angloplatinum..... all the East Countries and Telco) and a tons of potentials (China...).
    ---
None knows where this stock will be by 12 months if telco and buses keep on sleeping.
The eng-contracts are a good basement... a covered warrant through 2019/2011... but we need more orders on telco, materials and buses to achieve profits, I think that's clear to everybody.

share price increase on (very) low volume

    @ constantine

You mean Kolon? "despite having announced an entirely new and important business partner"
    ---
    Re COMM....
I was frightened when they first announced the sale of 500k shares (past summer, I guess)....
But after this (IMO) suicide-acquisition, I'm quite easy.

I think they will selloff all their stake in HYGS, bc of their absurd acquisition. It's a rule. You have to sell all your equities in gain... especially those in big gain, if you're issuing an huge debt.
This has become a no event.... apart the fact that -in the eyes of daytraders- it's a brake to the pps.

    I half agree with constantine.
But you have to move the test to 1st qrt 2015, because you may want to know that it's well known that the 4th qrt will be another miss..... because of shift in deliveries.

Then, they reiterated this current qrt will be profitable....... so, if another shift in deliveries occur in 1st qrt, I'll change my plans too.

    Almost OT: bonuses compensation margins-based

    by longfcell Feb 27, 2015 9:28 AM
longfcell longfcell Feb 27, 2015 10:46 AM Flag

    You're confused.
The pdpepsi.diot was the "cultured" one..... not the psyco -somehow and sometime- funny jon.as.
Here, a more deep bashing action was required.
You're starting to mix your characters.... LOL

  • How about instating bonuses compensation based on margins?
BLDP's (apart a very lousy - expected - ER) has just done that. That is a very sensible point.
Not "the more you sell, the more bonuses you get".. so revenues, revenues, revenues and very thin gross profits....
It becomes more like "the more the Company EARNS, the more bonuses you get".

Do that, and I vote FOR more bonuses.

*if* nothing promising was said at the CC.
The CC has been a pack of very positive and quite negative points.
It's now a HOLD, that means nobody knows where the stock will go for next 12 months.

That said, hold some, trade most and put me on iggy.

Unless he's a snake oil seller, my 1st impression is very positive.
