Only 2.7 billion for HERE ?

I am disappointed with sale price however I did read NOKIA was spending in excess of $2b/year in R&D to keep HERE competitive.
What was HERE's revenues last year? Less than $1b....the excess will fall to the bottom line....
even with 6.5b out shares...after tax increase annually in eps will be more than 0.10/share..
lets wait for the details of the sale before we pass judgement.

I am totally comfortable holding NOKIA regardless where it takes us in the
    short term.
IMO NOKIA is a solid investment for many years to come.
Uncertainty surrounding the ALU acquisition has hurt NOKIA stock...
however I think NOKIA bought ALU on the cheap at only 0.90 times sales.
NOKIA IMO will sell off ALU divisions they don't need... I am looking forward to
    several more years owning NOKIA.
Remember we have 2 catalysts in the near term and without warning IMO
NOKIA will gap up on news.
    Best to all.

  • Espoo, Finland - LG Electronics has agreed to take a royalty-bearing smartphone patent license from Nokia Technologies. The Korean company is the latest of more than 60 licensees for Nokia's 2G, 3G and 4G mobile communication technologies and the first major smartphone manufacturer to join the licensing program since Nokia divested its Devices & Services business to Microsoft in 2014.

'We are pleased to welcome LG Electronics to our licensing program,' said Ramzi Haidamus, President of Nokia Technologies. 'We've worked constructively with LG Electronics and agreed a mutually beneficial approach, including the use of independent arbitration to resolve any differences. This agreement sets the scene for further collaboration between our companies in future.'

The detailed royalty payment obligations will be subject to commercial arbitration, expected to conclude within a 1-2 year timeframe. Other terms of the agreement remain confidential between the two companies.
