She quit because she finally hit her goal and is now maintaining her weight and her new exercise routine on her own. This is what should happen to every patient on Belviq, when they have been on long enough to eliminate the cravings and reprogrammed their eating habits and behaviors and finally lose their weight they will go off of Belviq.
Good for her, she looks great and her health back and she looks so much younger...
This stock goes down on good news, down on bad news, down on no news, down when Jack speaks, and up when the rest of the market is tanking. So Sadist, I just want off this Bizzaro ride.
Ok, I am done. Back to work.
and getting on Belviq. She went to her doctor up in Seattle and her doctor refused to write her a script. She stated she would not script a drug she knew nothing about. She has had more then 30 requests for this drug and she has refused to educate herself.
Even worse she wanted to give this 24 year old a referral for the Lap Band or GBS over Belviq. That is reprehensible, to chose to put a patient through that kind of surgery without researching the safer options... I spoke to her this morning this happened yesterday at her doctors appointment.
did not drop a big bomb on us as everyone predicted.
higher then.22 for the day. We have trial updates, drugs entering Phase III and Phase II starts, potential news from Mexico and Canada, and never forget refiling in the EU very soon.
About obesity as a disease and how doctors are now being told diet and exercise is not enough. Medication should be used in the battle of the bulge. Did not mention Belviq or any other drug, just that we have new weight loss drugs.
Robert Hoffman is incompetent and a liar. Was asked asked point blank on last call with cash burn up and Belviq sales slow are you going to have enough cash. The liar aaid he can manage his cash position as it was. The BOD of this company has violated their fiduciary to the shareholsers.
getting weekly scripting numbers out of South Korea and so you will be blind sided by the results. Even Eisai reporting before Arena won't give you any insight. That should scare the heck out of ya. South Korea is socialized medicine and vanity is the game over there. Have you ever been there? Thin and young is the goal.
Symphony is higher then IMS and closer to the actual numbers. Why they quote IMS is beyond me, maybe because they have been the golden standard. But IMS has been off as much as 40% over actual numbers....
during the time period when we had over 100 million shares and went up 75%. I thought for sure they covered during that run up. I did expect shorting going into the dilution offering but not to that extent.
Yahoo deleted the phone numbers ha ha. Blow Up Jacks phone the number for Arena is 858 453 7200 and his extension is 223. Call it before he changes the number and extension... Ooops sorry Jack.
We have been on the market for almost 2 years. We had 11 months waiting for the DEA and 8,000 patients and many many years of study and this doctor who treats obesity has ignored the entire process. Shame on her.
I see nothing that is scary in fact 149,000 scripts for the quarter is great when you consider 6 weeks of it is the holiday season...
Eisai made it public with their guidance that they were going to let go of 150 contract reps and focus on the DTC marketing program. Reaffirmed they were committed to Belviq as one of their core drugs for their portfolio and are still moving forward to submit to the EU.
Fast forward to today.. Today we learn that they are now going to cut 25% of their sales staff which was pegged at 450 employees. Keep in mind that 150 of the existing sales reps are still contract agents. Just out of the blue, or is it? So those cuts are going to go deeper then just the Belviq crew. But they have not spent any more money or launched a new DTC program with more print and T.V.
If Eisai planned on cutting back across the board why would they give guidance just a few weeks ago to the contrary. It appears even more Belviq sales reps are going to get cut, more then just published. Makes no sense, in direct conflict of the guidance.
If they were in talks to bring on a partner or sell Belviq license why would they cut the spending or staff as well? Makes no sense either, you would continue the efforts until such a deal was signed and sealed. Then release the PR.
What if they learned from Arena that Arena was going to try and replace Eisai and take their marketing rights away, using poor sales and poor financial position as a basis for replacing them? If they thought they would lose that battle, would they cut Belviq expenses quickly and not risk losing money on reps and advertising that was not going to benefit them. Makes some sense.
Chime in with your thoughts as to what would motivate them to make such a knee jerk reaction and so quickly.
"ARENA has a history of failed drug candidates", list the failed drug candidates please. Lets see this history you are talking about. Drug companies experiment with thousands of compounds looking for one that works and is beneficial...

And all 7 are personal attacks, your posts bring nothing of value from either the long side or the short side thesis.
Off to Iggy land you go, the world is filled with enough garbage.
Complaining on a message board over and over does nothing. I doubt Jack even reads these boards, at least get his email and blow it up. So do something about it, get a shareholde proxy going. If Jack is such a problem for your investment thesis and you clearly cant or wont do anything about it, then your only choice is to sell and move on to greener pastures. We are stuck with him until a large shareholder activist joins our ranks. Heck get Icon or Ackman to invest here.
