Belviq is beating all other obesity scrips week after week and is taking market share.
Another reason why the talking heads are turning in favor of ARNA.
I saw the TV advertising twice today once at almost 1:30 pm Seattle time Oxygen. Was taping the shows and Fast Forwarding to see when it played.... Also at 10:32 Fox News Channel during Hannity show.
into what is coming.
Since the TV ads started enrollment went up 3.5 fold or up 350%.
Traffic to Belviq dot C0m two fold/doubled as well.
Airing will continue throughout the year.
We should start to see those results show up in the scripts soon. Shorts will welcome that kind of data.
By July sale reps will number 600 and the CEO is coming to America for a gathering on July 7, 2014 for a RE LAUNCH of Belviq. So guess what, they want to do it right this time. They were not happy about the first launch so they are doing a RE LAUNCH.
The TV advertising will continue throughout the year, that is great news. We are not going to stop when weight loss season ends...
Filing for approval in Japan and China this quarter.
from the bashers and the Jack haters.... We are over 10k on IMS and half way to 13k on symphony and we beat all of the obesity agents and Q again. We keep taking market share week after week. 2,597 commercials since the launch of the TV ads on April 15th. Sales reps can now tell reluctant doctors that Belviq has been on the market for over a year an not one single major event has been reported. This is bigger then folks here want to let on. I think that is why the bear raid now. This quarter will turn out to be a very big quarter, YoY and QoQ we will have seen scripts up significantly, insurance coverage needle will move up again, total doctors that have scripted the drug will be close to 50,000. That is a very large base of doctors that will have dipped their toe in the waters.
That is a lot of eyes on it.

The Fiscal Times
By Eric Pianin, Brianna Ehley 5 hours ago
Until now, Americans have been losing the battle of the bulge.
More than a third of all adults and 17 percent of young people are obese, according to the experts, and many of them have been consigned to troubled lives with obesity-related health problems such as type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease and stroke, hypertension, arthritis and even cancer. Without major government and private intervention and a sea change in many Americans’ unhealthy eating habits, the adult obesity rate could reach 50 percent by 2030, according to one study.
The cost to society in terms of damaged lives, soaring health care costs and diminished economic growth and productivity is staggering.
A new analysis prepared for The Fiscal Times by Scott Kahan, director of the National Center for Weight & Wellness at George Washington University, pegs the total cost of obesity – including direct medical and non-medical services, decreased worker productivity, disability and premature death – at $305.1 billion annually.
Those direct medical costs -- include counseling, outpatient and hospital visits, a range of bariatric surgical procedures, new treatment, nursing home care, rehabilitation and hospice – account for $190 billion of the annual costs, according to Kahan. The non-medical costs, including health education and behavioral change, add $50 billion to the annual tab. Finally, absenteeism and sub-par productivity in the workplace costs an additional $65.1 billion a year.
Kahan’s study, which he based on a wealth of research dating back to 1998, eclipses previous estimates of obesity’s societal and economic costs. The total would be much higher – by at least an additional $300 billion a year – if “intangible costs” associated with pain and suffering from obesity and obesity-associated conditions were added – but they are difficult to monetize. Still, those additional costs would push the grand total to $605 billion a year.
Cramer once bragged about how with a couple million bucks and a well placed false opinion can move the markets any direction he wanted, its called Fomenting. He is the king of fomenting and they believe if you say something enough times and put it in print enough times then the sheeple out in the world will believe it and follow the advice right over the cliff.
He did it with Sirius XM while the stock went from .05 a share to over 4 bucks last year in just over 4 years. Constant bashing, sell sell sell, calling it a used lottery ticket and in the end it was almost a 8,000% from the bottom. Funny thing was out of nowhere he loved it and blessed it after it had walked up to 1.50-2.00 a share... You can bet he and his friends got their shorts covered and even managed to get long and make millions on it.
Nothing is at it seems on Wall Street.
TV commercials. Belviq is trending at the second highest since the announcement that the FDA approved the drug in Jun 2012... IT has come up really fast since the launch of the TV ad campaign and that is what the ad campaign was supposed to do. Bring brand name awareness and since we have not had any big news about Belviq out there this traffic is being driven by the TV ads.
they hammered it down for the day. Go figure. Oh well, I still believe short interest is still dropping.
I am actually very pleased when you consider we only had 4 day. The week before was 11,101 / 5 days that is 2,220 scripts a day, so a fair guess would be that we would see this drop by almost that much. But we dropped 1,000 less then that.
It is funny how A Fartstain came out with the numbers so quickly....
150,000 Phen users will learn by the end of the year that if they take Belviq with Phen they will lost greater then 15% of the BMI. Great news for people who are only losing 4-5% of the BMI on Phen alone if they are lucky.
Media blitz, special incentives for sales reps, a surge in the educational dinners, a surge in TV ads (so bumping the viewings from 30 a day to 60 a day for 45-60 days, increase the print ads, interviews with past patients to check in on progress.
A lot of things can be done to increase exposure. Even bringing on a spokesperson.
Unreal isn't it. We have all the great news, the partnerships, the increasing scrips and we go down.
From John Galt on IV.
Missed beating Q by only 88 scrips. This is during a week when total obesity agent volume dropped by 0.61%.
The curve for Belviq scrips is steepening to the upside. We have continued to outperform the others for several months now. That is a good sign...
They started with 200 reps half way through they are at 400 reps. More then 33,500 health care practitioners have scripted the drug. If these doctors alone see great results and no adverse side effects they could take Belviq to 1 billion in sales with just 10 patients per doctor going on the drug for a year. Glass is half full and filling up very fast..
