The person that works for me has a daughter that is beautiful but very very heavy (I would guess over 280 pounds). Her daughter can't afford Belviq or the Bel Phen combo that was scripted. So she is going to cover half the cost so her daughter can get on the drug lose the weight and get healthy. It will be about 100 bucks per month out of each of their pockets if her daughter decides to fill the scripts.
Been oversold for a long time. I don't believe that a couple days after the non clinical Bel Phen data was released the stock all of a sudden decided to bounce up after being oversold. This was major buying and the stock was held in check.
Mean weight loss was 11.8% in 12 weeks, so it sounds to me like 100% of the people lost weight... They did not list anyone numbers that lost less then 5% of the BMI.
When you got nothin, you make it personal. Typical tactic from someone with low intelligence. Let's discuss why you think ARENA will not be successful, point us to the negatives. Show us the negative trends that are starting to emerge. Let's discuss the pipeline that has had such bad news week after week. Oh ya that has not been happening.
bel Phen. 11.8% in 12 weeks was the mean so in the real world it is going to be even better. You need to quit smoking crack, you are starting to believe your own BS.
Bel Phen is magnitude more effective, why would you use a drug with low results. Bel Phen changes everything, and if you invested in OREX hoping Contrave would be a winner, the Bel Phen results should have you reevaluating that depiction.
Not sure what you are talking about. The 5 year study is on going and they are still recruiting. Just failed to update.
Hope Dr. Vig is able to get that news channel to do a second follow up on his patients and the new unofficial Bel Phen data. Chances are he will wait until the official Eisai release happens.
Answer this question what is the weight loss expected based on clinical studies for Phen at 3 months and 12 months?
The story is a lot more then we hit 13.00 for a couple seconds and went straight down... 13 was the high water mark after the approval. We then were delayed by almost a year waiting for DEA scheduling. Then management handled the EU poorly and when we finally were ready to launch the results were at a staggering snails pace. Causing projections to be lowered. Shorts jumped on the band wagon DCAing their bad original short going into the 2nd PDUFA...
Mean time the drug worked and has multiple indications, the pipeline is and was promising and the company continued to make progress with their marketing partner Eisai. Since that 13 high water mark they have signed on more partners as well and now have marketing partners all over the entire world.
So calling this a growth investment and a value investment is accurate. Most growth and value plays take years to pan out... It has been just over a year at this point.
IF the public gets this news. That is the big question and was covered in a blog I read the other day. The public has the ability to launch this thing into blockbuster status overnight. Lets see how Eisai and Arena get the word out. IF all they do is educate the doctors and give us a press release about the safety and the efficacy it will be a long time before the public and the educated doctors take these scripts up.
Absolutely untrue. Belviq and Phen produced better results then either by themselves... You should go back and do some DD on actual clinical results for Phen.
I posted some excerpts from the post and Yahoo deleted them twice... I like the one where he called Bel Phen a block buster a combo the doctors have been waiting for a long time for..
While it is true that the FDA said they had no issues with Belviq being used with Phen, there was no safety trial conducted. Nothing was done to confirm at the clinical level that it was safe. After the Fen Phen mess and all the others do you really think a doctor would stick their necks out and script the 2 drug combo? I don't think so.
I think the study needed to be done so the safety issue could be put to rest first. The secondary end point was always the efficacy of the combo. Remember Phen is the weight loss drug of choice today with 150,000 scripts per week. These study results will be a strong catalyst for increased scripts.
not sure how 8% if you are a responder is "minimal efficacy", and in the real world those results are much better. Now we get a non clinical study that shows 11.8% and that is not official so we have to wait for the official results. We have been hearing about this Bel Phen combo and independent results from weight loss clinics for a while but those results were ignored. By the way this non clinical study was important enough to be part of the presentation, none of the weight loss center results have ever been included in a presentation. So someone thought highly enough of the doctor and the results to include them.
You bashers are going to need to come to the realization that Belviq is a great drug and that in time it will be a very successful drug and it will not just be for weight loss.
