    He is RIGHT:
As you (should) know, GDP=C+I+G+(X-M). After the Bush meltdown, all were severely negative with no positives in sight. The only option was the only controllable variable, G. Despite un-American resistance from Rs, Obama passed a massive stimulus which averted what was heading to be a 30s-level depression.
8 million IS a big deal vis-a-vis the depressed economy.
GM BK would have meant failure of the entire supply chain meaning F and C die. Millions out of work.
ACA will prove a very positive thing, similar to Medicare. Rs will have to deny they were so against it.
The post was that of Obama's ACCOMPLISHMENTS, not delimited to economy, jerk. Killing OBL and terrorist leaders is WINNING the so-called "war on terrorists" without any invasions or casualties.
CPI is near zero. Last time I checked, when inflation is zero, inflation is zero!!
The immigration Bill has pssed the Senate, news-hound and being obstucted, as usual, by the House teabags .

I am not versed in welfare laws ... so, you note that, by law, everyone making the MW qualifies for food stamps ... OK ... but what if that person has two jobs? ... I still think that an increase in the MW will reduce the amount of food stamps .... certainly, EICs will decrease as earned incomes rise ... and, in the McD case, what happens if all their competitors hold their prices or even reduce them to gain share? ... simple ... McD cuts prices regardless of a tiny hit to their margins ...

I always carry a few clunkers with which to offset gains plus there are many timing strategies with respect to deductions ... if most/all of your income is in interest, div and gains, there is no excuse for not having multi-year alternative scenarios ...

You could create an exception just like for servers paid primarily with tips (they get a MW of $2.25 or so) ... have it apply to students working summers, teens working part time, etc.

What would you expect from the fox show? ... a little checking would find that the real St Nic was Turkish, a dark Turk at that ... certainly darker than our President ... but "Santa Claus" as we use it, is a MYTH, a made-up story ... so why does Kelly get soooooo upset when people of color choose to adapt the myth for their children ... no harm ... no foul ... except for fox .... seems to throw a wrench into their "WAR on Christmas" myth ...

The reason that MW workers need any welfare is that they do not earn enough to live on ... increase the wage, decrease the welfare, perhaps not to zero, but substantially ...
No successful company will, knee-jerk, pass all added costs to consumers ... study competitive economics and strategy ... in some cases, price has little to do with cost, e.g., loss-leaders, "razor-and-blade" pricing ... share is KING ... volume trumps margins in certain ranges/strategies ... if you pay more for DL and defect rates go way down, margins increase .... business is complex, but, still, so many assume $1 in increased direct cost automatically means $1+ in unit pricing ... "think a little bit" ... why do we see so much discounting these days???

The original premise is to raise the minimum wage only enough to negate the need for food stamps and the EIC ... now we have companies paying non-living wages with YOU and ME paying the difference ... we must stop subsidizing these companies ... if they value market share (which, of course, trumps a tiny hit to margins), they will adapt without increasing prices ... hence a big NO to two of your points ... it will raise tax REVENUES, not rates ... the number of poor people will obviously DECREASE ... employment should not be effected as production is necessary to hold and grow share ...

OK ... you gave us three "values" that relate to lower taxes and lower debt/deficits (despite lower taxes) ... any more? ... I'll help with some that I observe:
    4. Treat corporations as "people" with the ability to make unlimited political bribes and the ability to force their values on employees (e.g., corp religion that says no birth control).
    5. Voter supression ... short lines for white republican voters and long lines and hurdles for minority/dem voters .... if you can't win them, shun them ...
    6. Treat egg cells as "people" making women who use birth control "mass murderers".
    7. Cut minimum wages, food stamps and all other safety-net programs for the lazy leeches.
    8. Repeal the ACA ... no insurance= death or BK.
    9. Second-class citizen status to gays, women and most minorities.
    10. Round-up and deport all "illegal" aliens.

agree ... a reasonable level of debt to GDP (like D/TC in a company) is healthy ... but we have a long way to go to get there ... projecthow our operating budget would balloon at 5%, 10% interest ... very scary ...

    2. "eliminate national debt" ... increase revenues
    3. "eliminate deficit spending" ... increase revenues

In both cases, there should be no incremental spendind approved without revenues at 100% or more ... at the same time the current debt should be eliminated by additional revenues over a rational timeframe ... additional revenues should be a mix of progressive surtaxes (until the debt is reduced) and elimination of corporate welfare ... for example, the two unnecessary wars should have been paid for - a retro, temporary war surtax should be levied ...

Palin almost forgot the official "list of one" so she wrote it on her hand ... yeah, yeah ... we KMOW your one policy ... low taxes = freedom, liberty, apple pie and love of our mothers ... how about inadequate revenues = massive budget deficits?

... and, FINALLY, people like Boehner and Ryan realize it is THEY who have the real power as ELECTED officials ...the non-elected money-wielding idealoges like the Kochs and Heritage "spokesmen" can be easily trumped ... the smart play is to understand that the goober/rube#$%$/fundamentalist votes are 100% in the (t) bag ... pandering to them with mindless drivel and stupid platitudes is a total waste of time ... the real game is for the center ... educated, analytical thinkers who respond only to cogent, reasoned propositions ... so let the fringe idiots just die on their comic-book vines ... time for IDEAS ... HOW to improve the ACA ... HOW to pass comprehensive immigration laws ... HOW to negotiate a real treaty with Iran and achieve peace in the region ... HOW to WIN votes instead of blocking them ,,, and HOW to get the bribery OUT of politics ...

HOW do you devine what Rubio means? ... since when is the "American Dream" defined as a ten-bagger in ten years??? ... could it also mean a middle class wage??? ... and ... just HOW does a 4% ETR increase absolutely negate the ability to increase capital by 10X or 3X or 100X????? ... you make no sense ... must be a t-bag ...
