Nope. Numbers above are GAAP. You are pumping AMD non GAAP, which is meaningless :)
I wanted to remind you about my reply on HoloLens and Google Glass, just to make sure you were paying attention to the facts :)
Where has AMD gone on record to say their margins on consoles ARE 20%?
Prove it. Since AMD has not said such a thing, you are a liar.
So many AMD fanboys lying here, they should be in a club. Perhaps the 100x0 club? :)
Are you pumping AMD's line about non GAAP profitability again?
We have been here in other pots, which I have replied to. AMD can manipulate non GAAP, whereas it can't manipulate GAAP results.
When AMD goes on record to claim it will be GAAP profitable, then maybe they might be taken seriously. Until then, they are pulling tricks on the feeble AMD fanboys :)
Non GAAP is meaningless. AMD picks what it feels will make them look better by adjusting its definition of what items are included or excluded from non GAAP.
Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP) is the measure that matters, and the one that tells the real AMD financial situation.
I concede that AMD has lost way, way more if you want to be comprehensive.
My point was that AMD not only grew it's negative retained earnings again (the negative continues to increase) and there was another additional "other comprehensive loss of $5M" which was directly related to Rory's parachute!
And, I fully agree that AMD keeps finding ways to play with its non-GAAP definitions which they continue to change at will in order to make the numbers look better. the latest example: on the conference call, Devinder said beginning in Q1 2015, they would exclude the impact of employee stock-based compensation.
How far away from Enron do you think AMD is? :)
You did not answer the question, which is not exactly any news coming from you.
AMD does not seem to have a good handle on Mantle with all of the issues and limitations with it in popular games like BF4 and Thief and other scenarios.
Mantle performance for the AMD Radeon™ HD 7000/HD 8000 Series GPUs and AMD Radeon™ R9 280X and R9 270X GPUs will be optimized for BattleField 4™ in future AMD Catalyst™ releases. These products will see limited gains in BattleField 4™ and AMD is currently investigating optimizations for them.
Multi-GPU support under DirectX® and Mantle will be added to StarSwarm in a future application patch
Notebooks based on AMD Enduro or PowerXpress™ technologies are currently not supported by the Battlefield 4™ application in the Mantle codepath
AMD Eyefinity configurations utilizing portrait display orientations are currently not supported by the Mantle codepath in Battlefield 4™
Graphics hardware in the AMD A10-7850K and A10-7700K may override the presence of a discrete GPU under the Mantle codepath in Battlefield 4™
Multi-GPU support under the Mantle codepath will be added to Thief™ in a future application patch
Mantle performance for GPUs with 2GB framebuffers will receive additional optimization in a future application path for Thief™. These products may see limited gains in scenarios requiring large amount of video memory (such as high quality settings with SuperSampling Anti-Aliasing enabled).
Why would anyone care to choose Mantle? Really? At least Microsoft will actually make DirectX 12 work on nVidia, Intel, AMD, and others. :)
I believe you really need to attend a 12 step program. You are in massive denial. :)
Every potential AMD investor needs to watch that video! Cramer tells it like it is :)
Plus, accumulated other comprehensive loss of 5 Million dollars!
A new record! :)
There is nothing wrong with natural monopolies, in the case AMD were to cease existing as it is :)
Here it is, directly from the "CFO commentary"
Giant Ouch! Is there a bandage thick enough to stop the hemorrhage? :)
They are constant in their display of supreme idiocy, won't you agree?
It's like, the guarantee that I can buy a short latte @ SBUX all over the world, and get a consistent product, every time. :)
You wrote a lot of drivel and you seem to not have caught up with the latest developments. Let me pick on a couple of your sentences:
" Microsoft's HoloGlass maybe, or, Google Glass, or Virtual Reality Chairs… Something will always need a chip inside and I'm sure that Lisa and company have a good inside track to see what's coming down the pipe."
With respect to HoloLens (not HoloGlass), you might want to do a search for "Microsoft's HoloLens uses unreleased Intel Atom chip".
With respect to Google Glass, you might want to do a search for "Google Glass Deal Thrusts Intel Deeper Into Wearable Tech".
Perhaps you are admitting victory where there isn't one to be had. :)
What's with the "LOL"?
Did you look at the same earnings numbers and forward guidance as everyone from AMD Q4 2014 earnings?
I have a hard time believing you did or, if you did, that you knew how to understand all of the non GAAP, special charges and other things in the separate CFO commentary/reconciliation, and actions by AMD prior to the earnings call: PAYABLE TO GLOBALFOUNDRIES 200+ million, having to manually delist from NYSE, renegotiation of senior debt cash call triggers, execs leaving AMD, Rory read walking away with $5M in cash and another $5M (both charged to Q4).
Maybe you are just lying, which I would not put past you or any of the AMD fanboys holding shares ? :)
