However, Buffett has made some key indirect investments in the shale oil boom. For example, two of Buffett's indirect plays on the industry are Phillips 66 (NYSE: PSX ) and National Oilwell Varco (NYSE: NOV ) , as well as BNSF and pipeline logistics company Phillips Specialty Products. These four companies all display the famous Buffett criteria of a wide moat and industry dominance.

Apple reportedly eyes sapphire crystal screen ramp
Apple is reportedly looking to ramp sapphire crystal manufacturing operations with partner GT Advanced in a move that could ultimately mean tougher iPhone screens.
According to a report from 9to5 Mac's Mark Gurman, Apple has acquired enough sapphire crystal furnaces to make anywhere from 100 million to 200 million 5-inch iPhone displays.
The report, pieced together with documents and SEC filings, highlights how Apple is looking to differentiate its products. The move also highlights how manufacturing is moving back to the U.S. for key parts.
"What's worth noting is that GT Advanced's work seems to be mostly for Apple these days. Given Apple's penchant for vertical integration an acquisition may be in order once GT Advanced proves it can deliver."
In any case, GT Advanced is expected to benefit from any Apple association. Analysts expect GT Advanced to deliver 2013 revenue of $303.9 million and $692.5 million in 2014. That's a nice 128 percent pop. However, GT Advanced's annual sales have been very lumpy ($544.2 million in 2010; $899 million in 2011 and $733.5 million in 2012).
The market appears to be expecting the good times ahead for GT Advanced. Here's the one year chart.

n a report published Friday, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey analyst Tobey Sommer commented on FireEye's (NASDAQ: FEYE [FREE Stock Trend Analysis]) acquisition of the cyber security firm Mandiant for $1 billion.
SunTrust commented on the acquisition, noting “This is evidence that bringing security firms together is important in broadening capabilities and that high valuations are supported in the market.” FireEye will use cash and stock to fund the deal at 10x revenue. The analyst furthered his analysis examining The KEYW Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: KEYW). Suntrust wrote, “cybersecurity firm KEYW is expected to generate $8.30 in sales per share - based on 2013 revenue. If acquired at a similar multiple to this transaction, this would imply an $80+ take-out price for KEYW.”
Mandiant is a privately-held company known for computer forensics investigation, security research and finding detailed information about hackers following a breach. The company has investigated who was responsible for hacking on behalf of numerous large corporations and has added software capabilities to boost revenue and margins.
KEYW Holding closed at $13.68 on Thursday and is currently trading up 9.65%. shares of FireEye closed at $41.13 and is currently up a whopping 34.18%.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
THE NEW YEAR COULD bring more deal activity. Last month, reports circulated that after failed buyout talks, shoemaker Crocs (CROX) may be in discussions with private equity firm Blackstone over a potential investment. Crocs' profitability has tumbled due to weak consumer spending. Its stock has dropped 7% since it was the subject of our first story of the year.
We still like the shares, which at a recent $13.55, look cheap at five times earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. A private-equity investment, if one were to occur, could help restore profitability and boost the stock.
Stocks normally jump higher on SA articles and that you TNXP was on SA Pro which was delivered to subs even before the general public gets it...not even SA Pro was able to help that POS. $100 is exaggerating...don't you think?
Is it going to rip higher tomorrow?
