Why do you erroneously think that there won't be any news for the next 3-months?
What for investment partner / buyout prospect to surface next.
Look at all the M&A activity. Pick your favorite. Look at Pfizer, Astrazeneca, Furiex, and others and you will get a preview of what is coming down the pipe for SRPT. Look for an investment partner first (GSK comes to mind) then a couple of suitors who are interested in this type of protected niche market.
Today's M&A activity from Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Furiex, and others makes me look across the biotech space to see who else may be candidates. Certainly LBIO would be a longshot, especially compared to a company like SRPT or AEGR or other candidate who are further along. Still, LBIO could come into play once they get onto the big board.
Management should have a full court press on getting uplisted. They have to get in the game first.
The M&A activity today is causing us to look at the Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Furiex to see the common components then project that across the biotech space looking for value in other companies for similar opportunities. ACAD has some work to do still, but is clearly undervalued at anything below $30/share and probably should go much higher than that. A $3B market cap is not unreasonable, though as I said, they still have some work to do to get there.
Strategic value to a bigger company is higher though. That would need to be checked for the strategic fit.
Don't fall for it. There is only 1-game in the pharmaceutical space in Switzerland and that is Novartis and everybody knows it. So unless these guys have a deal with Novartis (which they don't) then it is a waste of time.
We all know this will be at $100+ by the end of the year and I would like to buy some at a bigger discount. So take it lower baby I'd like a bigger discount. It won't change the value on December 31.
Agreed. The risk-reward ratio simply isn't there for a short play on SRPT.
I'm just curious.
Our dream is a nightmare for shorts. Ever since GSK pulled out of the competitor's deal, the writing has been on the wall. GSK knows of the potential value in this market and they also know they were on a team that couldn't compete against SRPT. Time will tell ...
You are joking if you think Obama cares about anything that actually helps people. He can't be elected again so there is no desire by the administration to do anything for anyone.
Re-electing Obama was like the Titanic backing up and hitting the iceberg AGAIN.
Just what as the great Obama done for healthcare? Since he took office, my health care premiums have DOUBLED then my carrier got RID of my plan forcing me to take an even HIGHER priced plan. The only people who signed up for Obamacare are those that god subsidies where the government pays for all or some of the insurance. The grand plan didn't work because only the "takers" showed up. None of the contributors did.
Another Democrat snowed by propaganda and clueless to how the world works.
Either someone is manipulating the stock based on the Subpoena information, or something is very wrong with this company. A drop of 1/3 pretty much assumes the company is guilty of wrong-doing.
Actually, the "cops" are laughable as they go after the tiniest infraction while being repeatedly blind to the major offenders. Sure they caught Martha Stewart and her 2,000 shares of questionable transactions, meanwhile the Bernie Madoff's of the world run scams for DECADES while the "cops" are completely ignorant, or not trying, or are on the take as well.
No kidding. Silly company, trying to SAVE LIVES instead of control cholesterol. What is WRONG with them anyway. Do they not know anything about how the FDA works?
See, when patients are DEAD then they don't have cholesterol problems.
Not true at all. They have many tools:
1) Deception (lie about stuff)
2) Irritation (keep harping about irrelevant data & pestering the board)
3) Implication (pretending that something is an issue when it really isn't - overplaying an unknown)
4) Innuendo (pretending that if you can't prove something isn't - then it must be true). Like - prove you haven't stolen anything ever...
They have LOTS of tools, all of them are #$%$ of course, but they have many tools.
My how this country has changed.
Still, if short sellers resort to 1-word posts like "Investigation" it could indicate that all they can do is pretend to implicate and rely on innuendo because there is nothing else there. It there was anything behind it, you know e shorts would be plastering it all over the board.
Has it ever occurred to you that maybe they didn't do anything wrong? Innocent witnesses get subpoenas too, to make them come testify in cases.
If you think LBIO did something wrong, then don't own it. Sell it and leave. But that isn't the case is it? No, a short seller will want to stick around and try to convince OTHER PEOPLE to sell.
Short us don't just sell and leave, they want to tell OTHER people what to do.
That says it all.
1) Nobody said everything is so great.
2) this stock has gone down along with the overall market, and biotechs in particular.
3) this stock/company is on schedule for AA for Eteplirsen and has great efficacy data to substantiate it.
4) There is still no competition, as Kynamro doesn't work.
5) There are still issues ahead, such as the small trial size, which is the only reason this stock is still under $100.
Jim Cramer: STOP endorsing this stock. Every time you talk it up, it tanks. Your endorsement is the kiss of death. Like a politician being endorsed by the #$%$.
